Actor Dan Amboyer says he was "strongly advised" to keep his sexuality a secret, but when it came to the best day of his life, he had to tell the world!
Amboyer married his longtime boyfriend, 37-year-old financier Eric Berger, on Saturday, and tells People that his nuptials were just as good a time as any to come out as a gay man.
“Being a young actor in the industry, I had a lot of people who strongly advised me to stay quiet,” the 31-year-old Younger star tells the magazine. “That was hard to live with. But I’ve never played a gay role before and I didn’t want to be limited by some strange perception.”

A week after Adam Sandler made his four picture deal with Netflix, his Saturday Night Live buddy David Spade teamed up with Happy Madison Productions and Crackle to produce a sequel that no one asked for… Joe Dirt 2. This will be the first digital sequel to a major motion picture. Why they chose make a sequel to Joe Dirt is beyond me. That was an awful film that I didn't think was funny at all, but apparently they feel there is a market out there for it.
The news comes from Deadline, who says that Spade will reprise his role as the moronic mullet-head character. The actor will also team up with former Saturday Night Live writer Fred Wolf to co-write and executive produce the film. Wolf will also direct it.
They are looking to start shooting the movie in mid-November on location in Louisiana, which is the backdrop for the first movie.

You may remember this past spring that David Spade revealed in a Reddit Ama that he was developing a wholly unnecessary sequel to the 2001 comedy Joe Dirt. But rather than hitting theaters, the film was going to be the first to be distributed by Sony Pictures' streaming video service Crackle, which is where Jerry Seinfeld's popular web series "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee" can be found. Now Crackle has officially announced that Joe Dirt 2 will begin shooting next month with Spade also executive producing and co-writing the film again with Fred Wolf, the original film's co-writer, who will be directing the film too. There's no story details, but Crackle vaguely reveals the sequel will pick-up where the first film left off, following the comedic misadventures of the mullet-clad, lovable redneck. Eric Berger, Crackle Gm and Sony Evp of Digital Networks says, "David Spade had a fresh and unique vision...

The film is being done with Sony-based Crackle. Crackle was one of the last platforms to give its pitch to advertisers at Digital Content Newfronts. Eric Berger, who serves as Gm for the Sony Pictures Entertainment property, announced a few new original programs, the renewal of a few more, the arrival of Crackle's first feature-length film, and the upcoming release of the first direct-to-Internet sequel for a wide release film. Crackle's most notable original, Jerry Seinfeld's Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, featured prominently in the presentation, with Seinfeld recording an introductory video and Berger revealing the show's second season trailer, which will feature Sarah Silverman, Chris Rock, and several others. Other returning series include 2010 Streamy Award winner The Bannen Way and Milo Ventimiglia's Chosen. Crackle repurposed Chosen's initial trailer for season two as a reminder that the series will feature plenty of running, shooting, and jumping. Two days after a new action-packed ending was added to Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, actress T.V. Carpio tells EW exclusively that there are still significant changes being made to the musical in preparation for its opening on March 15. Carpio, who took over the role of Arachne after Natalie Mendoza was injured, says that director Julie Taymor is in the process of implementing “major changes in the second act, which will make things more clear and better,” specifically targeting the climactic battle between the arch-villainess Arachne and Peter Parker.

Anne Fontaine, a filmmaker who hasn't had many problems exporting her films to the U.S. (Nathalie..., The Girl From Monaco), has began shooting her 12th feature film this week. The unlikely rom com tale about the fusion of two families stars Isabelle Huppert and Benoît Poelvoorde, who was in Fontaine's last film, Coco Before Channel. Co-scripted by Fontaine and Eric Mercier, My Worst Nightmare begins when Agathe (Huppert) takes in Tony, her son Adrien’s best friend, she doesn’t realize it at first, but her life ends up being turned upside down. Behind every child, there are always the parents, in this case a father with no job security, Patrick (Poelvoorde), who is as coarse and brazen as Agathe is cerebral and self-composed. Patrick, who is initially hired to do some work on the house, ends up doing much more: having indirectly caused Adrien’s father to run off with his social worker,...

It's funny how The Bannen Way has come full circle, so to speak. The long-awaited action series after all started its buzz-filled journey from spec indie to Sony-backed studio project with just a flashy trailer over a year ago. Of course the full series wasn't actually shot back then, so the release of the actual HD trailer on Crackle.com this week is getting quite a stir going. As Streamy-winning Pink director Blake Calhoun joked today on Twitter, "I didn't realize Guy Ritchie was now directing web series ;)" For La-based folks, or those heading to the city, they will get an exclusive first hand look at the new series with never-before-seen footage. That, and we have The Bannen Way creators Jesse Warren and Mark Gantt (who also stars as con-man Neal Bannen) dishing on what "Going Pro" really means. Also speaking is the man who signs the deals over at Crackle,...
