The Office is hiring: Domhnall Gleeson (The Patient) and Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus) are the first cast members to sign on for a new reboot in the works from original series co-creator Greg Daniels, our sister site Deadline reports.
The new take on the hit NBC workplace comedy, which starred Steve Carell as the inept branch manager of a Pennsylvania paper company, will be set in a new office with new characters but will take place in the same universe as the original series. ‘The Office’: Domhnall Gleeson & ‘White Lotus’s Sabrina Impacciatore Cast In New Greg Daniels Comedy
The potential new Greg Daniels and Michael Koman comedy series in The Office universe has locked in its first two stars: Domhnall Gleeson (The Patient) and Sabrina Impacciatore (White Lotus), who will be part of an ensemble, sources close to production tell Deadline. Details regarding their roles are under wraps. The Office studio Universal Television declined to comment, other than to confirm that the project remains in development.
As Deadline revealed exclusively in January, Daniels opened up a development room to explore ideas for a follow-up series to the Emmy-winning The Office. The prospective new series, which is not a reboot, is said to be set in a new office with new characters but live within the same world as the Steve Carell-led mockumentary series which follows employees at the Scranton, Pennsylvania, branch of the fictional Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. Daniels has indicated that a new Office iteration could...

Masterpiece will premiere Alice & Jack, the U.K. TV series starring Andrea Riseborough (To Leslie) and Domhnall Gleeson (The Patient) on March 17.
Created and written by Victor Levin, Alice & Jack features Riseborough and Gleeson as the titular characters in what distributor Fremantle described as a “love story for the ages.” Logline adds: “When they first meet they’re bound by a connection so powerful it seems nothing can break it, but will their path lead them to a place of happiness and togetherness? Or will life and their own emotional complexities get in the way.”
Alice & Jack premiered at TIFF in September. Masterpiece exec Susanne Simpson described the show as an “exceptionally beautiful and profound series that we are proud to add to our lineup.”

While it is easy to understand why audiences seek the thrills and chills of watching murderous characters on TV, it can be a bit harder to understand why creatives would put themselves through hell and back to deliver well-executed depravity that, at its best, morphs into something more poignant.
For Dominique Fishback, star of Prime Video’s “Swarm,” a pitch-black comedy about an obsessed music fan that leans into the “Killer” part of being a Killer Bee, the role of Dre was an opportunity to shirk expectations. “I was very used to playing characters who were considered lovable or likable or easier to put your arm around,” said the actress who, outside of her BAFTA Award-nominated supporting role in “Judas and the Black Messiah,” had been mostly cast as plucky teens. “I didn’t wanna get imprisoned by my own artistry or my own fears that I would disappoint anybody...

Ben Whishaw could well be Emmy bound for his acclaimed portrayal of Adam Kay in the Hulu miniseries “This is Going to Hurt.” Kay just won a BAFTA Craft Award for adapting his bestselling memoir of the same name that chronicled his time as a junior doctor in his native England. And Wishaw contends at the upcoming main ceremony on May 14.
Kay works in a chaotic obstetrics and gynecology ward in an NHS hospital. He has to deal with a whole array of medical nightmares as he struggles to balance his work and home life. The series juggles black comedy with brutal drama. While Kay can be thoroughly unlikeable character, Whishaw’s boyish charm and snarky humor always keep you on his side. “Star Wars” is finally getting some recognition for its acting talents. A galaxy far, far away has always been appreciated for its below-the-line work but among the cast only Alec Guinness earned an Oscar nomination across the 11 live-action movies (Best Supporting Actor for “A New Hope” in 1978). One of the small screen expansions of the franchise, “The Mandalorian,” has reaped four Emmy bids for its cast: in 2020, Giancarlo Esposito contended for his guest role while Taika Waititi was up for voicing Ig-11; in 2021, Esposito was promoted to series regular and reaped a supporting bid while Timothy Olyphant and Carl Weathers vied against each other for their guest turns.
That trend looks to continue this year thanks to the influx of “Star Wars” shows gracing our screens on Disney+. Here are six actors who could earn Emmy bids for “Star Wars” shows.

With a string of idiosyncratic filmmakers, studio interference, and more 180-degree turns than Linda Blair's head, "The Exorcist" must be one of the strangest franchises to ever come out of Hollywood. That said, its flaws are also a boon -- the films are far more interesting than the usual cookie-cutter horror sequels, with each entry feeling like a personal statement from its director, for better or worse. Well, usually for the worse.
Case in point: 1990's "The Exorcist III." After the goofy metaphysics of John Boorman's widely derided "Exorcist II: The Heretic," "The Exorcist" writer and author William Peter Blatty pitched a story called "Legion" for another sequel that would ignore the events of Boorman's film. Warner Bros. was keen, but after "The Exorcist" director William Friedkin left due to creative differences, the project ended up languishing in development hell. Blatty decided to turn "Legion" into a novel...

wards season rolls ever onwards and today it was the turn of the Screen Actors Guild to announce their nominations. The SAG Awards have often been a useful pointer towards who will be nominated for acting Oscars, and indeed many of the expected choices are present here – Cate Blanchett, the Banshees Of Inisherin cast and, even more welcome, the ensemble of Everything Everywhere All At Once.
Newer breakthroughs are also expected names who have popped up elsewhere, such as Elvis' Austin Butler and Till's Danielle Deadwyler. And Brendan Fraser's "comeback" on The Whale also lands on the list here.
More surprising, perhaps, were those who didn't make the cut, such as The Fabelmans' Michelle Williams (while her co-star Paul Dano did) and a snub for the ensemble of Top Gun: Maverick.
The awards will be handed out at a ceremony to be broadcast via Netflix's YouTube channel on 26 February.

As usual, Gold Derby users were collectively right about most of this year’s SAG Awards nominations for TV, accurately predicting 31 out of 40 mentions across eight categories (not including Best Stunt Ensemble). Christina Ricci is heading to Gotham City.
The Yellowjackets star has been tapped to lead the voice cast for Spotify and Warner Bros.’ next audio series, Harley Quinn & The Joker: Sound Mind, as Harley Quinn herself. Ricci will be joined by Billy Magnussen as the Joker and Justin Hartley as Batman.
