Sydney, May 10 (Ians) Australia’s Test and Odi captain Pat Cummins revealed that he is still trying to get the balance right between various things in his life after admitting that he had suffered from burnout on return to competitive cricket in 2017.
Cummins had left Australia’s tour of India midway in February to spend time with his dying mother, and hasn’t featured in competitive action since then. Cummins had made his Australia debut as a teenager in 2011, but was back in the national side only from 2017 due to injuries.
“Cricket’s basically 12 months of the year; there’s always a cricket game going on somewhere, and I played non-stop for a year or two,” Cummins said on former England footballer Rio Ferdinand on ‘WeAre8’s Get Real with Rio’ program.

At the center of the doc is the literal and metaphorical search for Jordan, who was in reality a serial bigamist, sexual predator and pathological liar. While the pursuit begins with Thompson, ITV says its “becomes a baton race of women each seeking the truth.”

Joe Lycett has responded in shock to David Beckham’s statement about his money-shredding stunt.
On 13 November, the comedian said he would shred £10,000 of his own money as well as Beckham’s status as “a gay icon” if the former British footballer didn’t pull out of his World Cup ambassador contract with Qatar.
After no public response from Beckham, Lycett went on to destroy the money on a livestream. He later revealed that the money was fake and he had actually donated it to LGBT+ charities.
More than a month later, on 15 December, Lycett informed his Twitter followers that Beckham had finally responded to the situation.
Lycett wrote: “David Beckham’s team have issued my programme with an exclusive statement, which will be broadcast tonight as part of my Got Your Back special.

Doha, Nov 21 (Ians) England coach Gareth Southgate has confirmed in his pre-game press conference that neither Leicester City midfielder James Maddison nor Manchester City veteran defender Kyle Walker would be available for England’s 2022 World Cup opening match against Iran later on Monday.
Maddison misses the game with a knee injury that he picked up in the last Premier League game before the World Cup finals, while Walker is putting the finishing touches to his recovery from a knee operation in early October.
“Kyle Walker is a little bit short (of fitness) for this game, but is progressing really well. We are ahead of where we thought he might be at this point,” Southgate said of the defender, while commenting on Maddison that he “hasn’t been able to train since we arrived, so he will not be able to make the game tomorrow.”

London, Oct 29 (Ians) Liverpool will aim to reach an unbeaten milestone at Anfield when they face Leeds United in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Reds can extend their run of successive home games without a loss to 30 with a win or draw against Jesse Marsch’s team. It would be their joint-sixth-longest such run in club history. In the 29 matches during the streak so far, Jurgen Klopp’s side have won 22 times and registered 17 clean sheets.
The last meeting between the sides was the corresponding fixture of 2021-22 – Liverpool won 6-0 to record their biggest ever victory over Leeds.
Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk were on the scoresheet that night – it was the first time both centre-backs in a Reds XI had scored in the same league game since September 1968, when Ron Yeats and Tommy Smith did so against Leicester City.

Produced by Rio Ferdinand, this story of a rough-and-tumble weekend league descends into an aimless kickabout
A decade on from teaming Danny Dyer, 50 Cent and Brenda Blethyn for 2009’s bargain-bin circler Dead Man Running, Rio Ferdinand re-enters the world of lowish-budget film production with a quasi-real time drama centred on those lads and lasses (mostly lads) drawn to the rough-and-tumble of the Hackney Marshes’ weekend leagues. Yet despite the title’s ticking clock, writer-director Simon Baker’s mud-bound mosaic exhibits a shambling quality that suggests a slacker Slacker, passing the ball from character to character without ever quite doing anything especially interesting with it. An hour in, two spectators – in an echo of those ads for McCain’s – start pondering whether it’s chips for tea. Play is rather shruggingly abandoned at the 86-minute mark. One way or another, you emerge short-changed.
Baker does deserve some credit for wrong-footing us.

On Wednesday, Prince William went on a solo outing to meet with members of the Campaign Against Living Miserably charity, which is dedicated to preventing male suicide. While chatting with UK radio host Roman Kemp, the soon-to-be father of three admitted that, despite the rumors, his brother Prince Harry is yet to ask him to be his best man at his upcoming wedding to Meghan Markle. According to People, the subject came up during a group discussion about the Best Man Project, which encourages friends to look out for each other's mental health. After Rio Ferdinand, a former British soccer star, asked William if the wedding meant that he was going to miss the Fa Cup Final, Roman Kemp asked about what his official role would be. "He hasn't asked me yet, just to clear that up. It could be a sensitive subject," joked the Duke of Cambridge. While it...

The FIFA football franchise has come a long way since its origins in the early 90s. Like any other distinguished game series, it has certainly had its ups and downs with a need to constantly innovate to stand out. It is hard for a series which comes out every year to significantly differentiate itself from each previous year’s title other than updating teams to reflect the Summer transfer window or promotions but it’s clear, however, that with FIFA 18 there has been a definite improvement and it’s the little details that improve the overall experience.

Money in the world of football has become a big talking point within the game. Be it transfer fees, ticket prices, imaging and TV rights, or even the odd FIFA related bribing scandal, the financial element of the game will now always be questioned. With figures nearly exceeding £100,000,000 for a single player it’s beginning to feel that clubs can demand stupid money for any player within their squad. You only have to look at players like Dwight Gayle, Jake Livermore, and Robert Snodgrass who are being bought for £10 million plus. I mean, Crystal Palace bought Jeffery Schlupp for £12 million! Am I missing something here? It’s like money doesn’t have any value within the game anymore.
Of course, there are some transfers that warrant clubs splashing out large amounts of money to get their man. Players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Luis Suarez, and Neymar to name a few.

He has teamed up digital media company Brave Bison (formerly known as Rightster) to launch Rebel Fc, a new soccer team featuring a roster of YouTube content creators.

Speculation has been circling for a while over the series host and it’s finally been confirmed that deadpan funny man, actor, director, writer and television presenter, Ayoade, is set to follow in the footsteps of the legendary Richard O’Brien who hosted the original series which ran on Channel Four between 1990 and 1993 and then Ed Tudor-Pole from 93 until the show’s end in 1995.

Prince Harry was only recently able to open up and discuss his mother, Princess Diana's passing, but he wishes he had done so sooner. The 31-year-old hosted an event at the Kensington Palace for his mental health charity, Heads Together, which was attended by many special guests, including Former England and Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand. Ferdinand—whose wife passed away of cancer, leaving him to take care of his three kids—couldn't help but asked Harry about the impact losing a mother can have on children. Harry replied, "I really regret not ever talking about it," noting that he didn't speak about Diana's death "for the first 28...

Though Prince Harry has done an exceptional job of following in the late Princess Diana's footsteps, the 31-year-old royal recently admitted that he regrets "not ever talking about" his mother's tragic death and the impact it had on him growing up. In an interview with BBC News on Monday, Harry, who was hosting an event for the mental health charity Heads Together, revealed that he wishes he had spoken out earlier about losing Diana in 1997, when he was just 12 years old. "It is Ok to suffer, but as long as you talk about it. It is not a weakness," Harry said, adding, "Weakness is having a problem and not recognizing it and not solving that problem." Harry also gave advice to English soccer star Rio Ferdinand, whose wife, Rebecca Ellison, passed away in May 2015 after a battle with cancer. Rio is raising the couple's three children and spoke to...

Prince Harry says he has only recently been able to talk about the death of his mother Princess Diana - and that he "really regrets" not doing so sooner. The royal opened up at a barbecue he hosted at his Kensington Palace home recently for Heads Together, the mental health initiative he is spearheading with Prince William and Princess Kate. Their three-pronged approach, first reported by People in February and officially launched with a PSA in April, emphasizes de-stigmatizing mental health issues. For the barbeque, Harry, 31, invited several well-known sports personalities to discuss their own struggles. Speaking of his mom,...

Daniel Radcliffe has revealed that he has never been on the Harry Potter Studio Tour.
Speaking to Jonathan Ross, the actor, who played the title role in the Harry Potter films, said that he has never had the chance to visit the attraction.
"There's never been a good time for me to go back when it wouldn't cause some commotion or something," he said. "But hopefully I'll get to do a movie there and then just slip in.
"It's amazing how little disguises help and then how ridiculous you feel once you've been found in a disguise."
He also revealed that his proudest moment has nothing to do with his film roles, but is in fact being taught to dance.
"I was the blankest canvas my dance teacher had ever seen," he said. "He taught me to dance, I owe it all to him.

West Ham have been criticised in recent years for our tendency to panic buy. £15.5 million for a repeatedly injured Andy Carroll doesn’t scream great value. Neither does a £10.75 million Matt Jarvis; although he has put in some great performances for us, he’d be hard pushed to live up to that price tag.
Even when purchasing seemingly wisely, we have seldom seen great surprise purchases. When we received £18 million for the sale if Rio Ferdinand to Leeds, Harry Redknapp decided to use the money to sign a number of cheaper players rather than a replacement. Arrivals included £2.5 million Rigobert Song and £2.2 million Titi Camara, who were both an embarrassment to the club.
Criticisms aside, however, some of our dealings in the transfer market have really paid off and bargain players have flourished at West Ham. This list is a celebration of those rare occasions in...

For all of his lack of grasp of tactics, system changes and the nuances of flair players, the one constant in Alan Pardew’s career has been his preference for hard-working players who will give everything for the cause. That’s why he’s said so much recently about the fighting spirit of the squad, and how hard everyone is working to “try” and turn things round: he paints a picture of an engine straining to change results, because that’s his ideal picture of a football team.
This is the man, remember, who played Hayden Mullins ahead of Javier Mascherano and basically forced the Argentinian out of the door at West Ham after just months by simply ignoring that he existed – as best he could. His preference for players like Cheick Tiote – all fire and fearsome tackles – over Vurnon Anita – a proper technical footballer with...

Transfer news regarding Manchester United has died down in the hours that have passed since this morning’s announcement that the club have agreed a loan move for Monaco’s Radamel Falcao. Fans waiting for more additions to the side are still waiting as we enter the final four hours of transfer deadline day.
Defender-cum-midfielder Daley Blind will likely be unveiled as a United player alongside Falcao at some point this evening with only paperwork holding up Blind’s protracted transfer, but it is looking increasingly likely that the duo will be the final two signings heading to Old Trafford this summer.
United have already spent £131.7 million since last season, having brought in left-back Luke Shaw, midfielder Ander Herrera, centre-back Marcos Rojo and his Argentinian teammate Angel Di Maria, while the £7 million loan deal for Falcao and the £13.8 million capture of Blind will push manager Louis van Gaal...

Manchester United have just agreed arguably The blockbuster deal of the summer with As Monaco’s Radamel Falcao set to move to Old Trafford on a season-long loan deal later today. Reports suggest United are paying £12 million for the striker’s services, though it is unclear at this stage if there is an option to make the move permanent.
It’s a staggering move. Falcao was linked with a series of other clubs including Real Madrid and United’s “noisy neighbours” City, but the Red Devils have astonishingly beaten off the competition to land the prolific Colombian, who has already scored twice in three appearances for Monaco this season.
During 2012-13, Falcao was one of the most dangerous forwards in Europe and struck 28 goals in 34 La Liga appearances for former club Atletico Madrid. This prompted Monaco to fork out £50 million to bring him to...

Manchester United may well be the biggest spenders of the summer transfer window, having spent £131.7 million since last season on left-back Luke Shaw, midfielder Ander Herrera, defender Marcos Rojo and his Argentina teammate Angel Di Maria, but there is still plenty of work left to be done at Old Trafford before Monday’s deadline day.
The transfer window will crash shut until January in a little under four days and while United have certainly compensated for the horrors of last summer – in which they signed only Marouane Fellaini this time 12 months ago – they cannot be 100% pleased with their wheeling’s and dealings as we approach next week’s cut-off point.
The likes of Rio Ferdinand and club-captain Nemanja Vidic have not been fully replaced, the experience of Ryan Giggs has gone while more worrying still is the gaping gap in the centre of their midfield, with Fellaini,...

Manchester United unveiled their third signing of the summer transfer window last night after finalising a deal for Sporting Lisbon’s versatile defender Marcos Rojo, who has arrived on a £16 million deal with winger Nani heading to his former club on loan as part of the arrangement.
United were in the market for a new centre-back following the departures of Rio Ferdinand and captain Nemanja Vidic, with Rojo also able to fill in at left-back – another area of concern following the sales of Alexander Buttner and Patrice Evra, as well as the injury sustained by new signing Luke Shaw.
Rojo will hopefully help bring stability to a defence that looks paper thin at present and has the experience to do so, having helped Argentina reach this summer’s World Cup final, playing all six games as his country progressed through the finals in Brazil.

£30 million rated Roma defender Mehdi Benatia will arrive in England soon for talks over a move to Manchester United. Sky Sources understand the two clubs are close to agreeing terms on a deal that would see the Moroccan international come to the Premier League.
Louis Van Gaal has signalled out the 27-year-old as key in solving United’s defensive crisis which forced the Old Trafford boss to hand youngster Tyler Blackett his first-team debut in the 2-1 opening day home defeat by Swansea. An injury to Jonny Evans and a failure so far to replace Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic from last season’s squad has left the Red Devils looking particularly thin and vulnerable in defence.
It’s not the first time Benatia has been linked to a move to Manchester this summer, although the previous link was over a switch to the Blue side of the city.

Manchester United right-back Rafael could be among up to five misfiring stars to leave the club with new manager Louis van Gaal set to wield the axe before transfer deadline day, according to Team Talk. Marouane Fellaini, Nani, Anderson and Javier Hernandez have also reportedly been told they can leave this summer.

Manchester United are set to miss out on top summer transfer target Thomas Vermaelen after Arsenal agreed a £15 million bid from Barcelona for the centre-back, according to the BBC. Vermaelen had been at the centre of a two-way tussle between United and Barca but yesterday Gunners manager Arsene Wenger admitted he would prefer to sell the player abroad rather than to a domestic rival.
The 28-year-old Belgian international is now set to discuss personal terms with the Spanish giants and is expected to undergo a medical at the Nou Camp later this week. The news will come as a crushing blow to United manager Louis van Gaal, who is in the market for a new centre-half following the summer departures of Rio Ferdinand and club-captain Nemanja Vidic.
This isn’t the first time van Gaal has been frustrated in the transfer market during his pursuit of a new centre-half.

With just a little over three weeks to go until the summer transfer window clangs shut for four months, Manchester United have been noticeably inactive in recent weeks. The squad that finished a disappointing seventh under David Moyes last season is in obvious need of an overhaul and there isn’t long left to make the required changes.
United have already signed Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw from Athletic Bilbao and Southampton, respectively, but over a month has passed since the Red Devils last dipped into the transfer market, and that has been cause for alarm in some sections of the Red Devils’ support base.

Goal are reporting that Tottenham Hotspur Football Club have reportedly agreed a deal for Sporting Lisbon and England Under-21 centre back Eric Dier.
The deal is expected to be completed by the end of Thursday and will see the youngster signing on at White Hart Lane for five years, with the Portuguese giants not retaining a sell-on clause.
The 20-year-old – who has been described as “the next Rio Ferdinand” – was born in Cheltenham, England, in 1994 but moved to Portugal as a 10-year-old a decade ago where he was recruited into Sporting’s renowned academy system very swiftly.
He signed his first professional contract with the Lisbon club back in 2010, after which he was loaned out to English Premier League side Everton for half a season the following January – although he did not make an appearance for the Toffees, the experience will have done him no end...

Without the help of some brave investors, or the pockets of their makers, the following films would never have existed...
It's now a fairly common mantra that you'd be a fool to put up all of your own personal money into a feature film. By all means invest, but share the risk, or throw a few quid at Kickstarter.
Paying for the bulk of the negative/hard drive yourself, and leaving your own assets exposed? Utter lunacy.
Not that anyone told this lot...
The Passion Of The Christ Paid for by: Mel Gibson
For some time, Mel Gibson had, alongside his acting roles, been heavily invested in his production company, Icon. As such, he had two significant ways to earn money, and he needed both of them when it came to making The Passion Of The Christ.
This is the kind of film that studios run a mile from. All...

Manchester United face another season of transition in 2014-15. They are about to start a Premier League campaign with a new manager with new ideas for the second time in as many years, while the ‘old guard’ in Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra, Ryan Giggs and captain Nemanja Vidic have all left the club.
David Moyes has been sacked after just 10 months into his position following a bitterly disappointing season that saw the Red Devils finish seventh, and in his place has been appointed successor Louis van Gaal. van Gaal has just guided the Netherlands team to a 3rd place finish at the World Cup finals and has now taken over at Old Trafford.
The Dutchman will be expected to guide United back to the top of English football where their fans believe they belong, and the ambitions will be to qualify for the Champions...

It is a frustrating occupation being a Leeds United fan. After dominating English football through the late 1960s and early 70s, winning three First Division titles, things soon turned sour for the Yorkshire club. Stricken with well-documented off-field financial woes, the club has been in a steady state of decline in the past decade.
Leeds’ demise, which has included a spell in administration – came about due to spending inordinate amounts on wages and transfer fees, with the likes of Rio Ferdinand, Robbie Keane and Robbie Fowler’s arrivals meaning The Whites were living beyond their means. But extravagant transfer dealings haven’t always been the only source of despair for the club’s faithful.
It’s the signings that didn’t happen that may perhaps leave supporters filled with angst, with United being linked with a series of world class names down the years only to...

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has been handed his first transfer setback of the summer with Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp telling him to forget about signing highly-rated centre-back Mats Hummels, according to the Express. United had been hoping to land the World Cup winner to fill the void left by Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic but may now have to pursue other targets.
Ferdinand was allowed to leave the club when his contract ran out while Vidic moved to Inter Milan, and Hummels had been identified as the man to lead the Red Devil’s new-look defence next season. However, outspoken Dortmund boss Klopp scoffed: “What is the latest rumour – Mats to Manchester United? And for how much – £17 million? For an amount like that you can forget about it straight away.”
Those words will come as a crushing blow to United, who...
