"In Essentials, mathematician Harris Pax predicted the end of the world, but failed to prevent it. Now he’s living alone in a bunker and his niece’s favorite toys are starting to talk to him. The good news? He’s not the world’s sole survivor. The bad news? The other survivors are trapped in alternate realities — trapped in imagined worlds full of zombies, pterodactyls, and chaos. And now Harris Pax and an unlikely ally must travel the country on a quest to restore reality, save humanity, and defeat his new interdimensional nemesis: Snuggles."

Comic illustrators Glenn Fabry, David Finch, John Romita Jr. and Philip Tan are among the bold-faced guests that will be hosted at 2024 edition of Lake Como Comic Arts Festival, the unique convention that focuses on comic artists.
Artists Bill Sienkiewicz, Jordi Bernet, Frank Cho, Juanjo Guarnido, Tula Lotay, Bill Morrison, David Petersen and Charles Vess, most of whom have previously attended, are also in the lineup for the three-day event that kicks off May 17 with a reception overlooking the lake and gardens of the historic Villa Erba, the festival’s home, in Cernobbio, Italy.
Entering its third year, the event is less a convention than it is a fair with an intimate approach to artist-guest interactions, all in the picturesque setting made famous by Hollywood jet-setters such as George and Amal Clooney and John Legend and Chrissy Teigen. Those who have attended have described it as a con for art collectors.

The woman behind the iconic Susan Ivanova is keeping busy. Not only is Claudia Christian returning to the role for the forthcoming animated movie, Babylon 5: The Road Home, but she’s successfully funded the second issue of her comic-book, Claudia Cristian’s Dark Legacies on Kickstarter.
The comic, which is co-written by Dr. Chris McAuley (Dracula: The Return) and drawn by legendary British artist Glenn Fabry, isn’t Christian’s first foray into fiction. In 2007, Christian wrote the Babylon 5 novel Baptism of Fire, and in 2016, the original novel Wolf's Empire: Gladiator with Morgan Grant Buchanan.

Duncan Jones’ “Mooniverse” trilogy is coming to an end with the debut of his graphic novel “Madi: Once Upon A Time In The Future.” The book is the third and final entry in Jones’ science-fiction series that launched in 2009 with his indie film favorite “Moon” and continued with his polarizing 2018 Netflix original movie “Mute.” Each entry tells a different story set within the same universe. Jones’ “Moon,” starring Sam Rockwell in a dual role, was a critical favorite and has become a cult favorite over the last decade. Jones announced last summer he would complete the “Mooniverse” with a graphic novel, and now a Kickstarter has launched (via Empire) in which fans can purchase the final product and get a first look at the book.
“Madi” is billed as a “260-page road trip graphic novel” from Jones and writer Alex de Campi. The two collaborators partnered with artists such as Glenn Fabry,...

During my years of attending and covering conventions in southeast Michigan, there’s been one event in particular that’s somehow eluded me, that being Monroe Comic-Con.
Fortunately, I’ll be able to check off that box very shortly when I count myself among those filing into the Mbt Expo Center on September 15th. For some time, I’ve heard stories from others recalling the great times they’ve had, so it’ll be a pleasure of mine to share my experience with We Got This Covered’s readers.
Having paid attention to social media and checking out the show’s official website, it sure does look like there’ll be a lot of ground to cover in one day, but I’m certainly up to the challenge. From what I’ve seen, a lot of vendors will be on hand with comics and collectibles to satisfy people like myself...

From the 2001 novel to the Starz TV series and beyond, the world of Neil Gaiman's American Gods is ever-expanding, and it continues to grow today with the release of Dark Horse Comics' American Gods: My Ainsel #1. The first issue in a new story arc featuring the continued adventures of Shadow and Wednesday, the new comic book features eye-catching artwork by Scott Hampton, and we caught up with the artist and colorist in a new Q&A feature to discuss what he enjoyed the most about working on the new story (which also features great cover art like the one shown above by Glenn Fabry).
Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions for us, Scott! How did the opportunity to work on American Gods: My Ainsel come about, and what interested you in the project?

There are plenty of differences between the Preacher TV series and the comics, but the commitment to shock value remains the same.
This article contains major spoilers for the Preacher comics and probably the TV series, too. It's also completely unsuitable for younger or more sensitive readers.
In the world of Preacher, horror is the eleventh commandment.
TV fans are now in on what countless DC Comics and Vertigo fans have known for years, that when it comes to shocking moments, no comic on the planet can hold a candle to Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s Preacher. When Preacher began in 1995, from the very first page, it was clear that this was a comic that knew no boundaries, a comic that pushed the envelope on good taste and social taboos while testing the limits of the comic book medium. But make no mistake, underneath those gorgeous...
