After graduating in Architecture (from the Politecnico di Milano, with a specialization in Cambridge, England), she worked for years with Studio Azzurro, designing the sets for their films and other museum and artistic projects.
Among others, she collaborated with Cynthia Charette in Los Angeles, G. Tito Burchiellaro at Cinecittà, with Josef Svoboda at the National Theatre of Prague, Carlo Quartucci at Teatro Olimpico in Rome and at MalibranTheatre in Venice, F. O. Gehry and Claes Oldenburg on a project curated by Germano Celant and Rudy Fuchs at the Arsenale in Venice.
Many of the film productions she worked on have received significant awards, including works such as: "Aspettando la Bardot" by Marco Cervelli, "Mare di Grano" by Fabrizio Guarducci, "Garage Olimpo" by Marco Bechis, "Blue Sofa" by Lara Fremder, Pippo del Bono, Giuseppe Baresi, "Il Mnemonista" by Paolo Rosa.
Esther Musatti also works in the architectural field, integrating the scenic suggestions acquired with architectural projects. Particular attention is given to enhancing the needs of the client, providing innovative solutions in an artistic and scenographic key.
For many years, she has been teaching a course in Cinematic Set Design for the Master's in Theatrical Set Design at the Accademia della Scala in Milan. In addition to the design part, the course includes the filming of the created project, in order to provide students with a concrete experience of cinematic set design. In the educational field, she has also collaborated with the Politecnico di Milano and the European Institute of Design in Milan.
She has published for years in architectural magazines (including L'Arca), combining architecture and set design.
