After a brief halt in production, AMC was able to secure “significant agreements” with the SAG-AFTRA actors union that allowed them to continue filming Interview with the Vampire season 2 (as well as the Walking Dead spin-offs Daryl Dixon and The Ones Who Live), keeping the show on track for its 2024 premiere. Now AMC has released a clip from Interview with the Vampire season 2 that largely focuses on a conversation between Louis and a vampire from the Theatre des Vampires, but also gives a glimpse of Delainey Hayles as Claudia, a character who was played by Bailey Bass in the first season. And it allows Claudia to participate in a vampire feast.
Bass had to drop out of the Claudia role due to “a variety of unforeseen circumstances”.

Masterpiece has released a trailer for the upcoming final season of Sanditon, the drama inspired by Jane Austen’s final, unfinished novel, that was adapted and created by Andrew Davies and produced by Red Planet Pictures.
The series took on its own direction (Austen only finished 11 chapters before her death) and writer Justin Young took the helm as lead writer and executive producer for seasons 2 and 3. The drama will premiere on 9 p.m. Sunday, March 19, on PBS. The series also will be available to stream the same day.
Returning characters for Season 3 include Charlotte Heywood (Rose Williams), Georgiana Lambe (Crystal Clarke), Alexander Colbourne (Ben Lloyd-Hughes), Tom Parker (Kris Marshall), Mary Parker (Kate Ashfield), Lady Denham (Anne Reid), Edward Denham (Jack Fox), Arthur Parker (Turlough Convery), Lady Susan (Sophie Winkleman), and Ralph Starling (Cai Brigden).
More new faces are joining the series, like Lady Montrose, who is the quintessential Austen mother. She arrives in Sanditon with one objective: matches for her children, Lydia and Henry. Lydia is an independent young woman who is not as eager for a match as her mother, while Lord Henry Montrose is charismatic and confident, but he holds a secret.
There’s also Rowleigh Pryce, a wealthy, curmudgeonly investor who is interested in teaming up with Tom Parker on the seaside resort’s expansion. Their plans become complicated when Rowleigh runs into Lady Denham. Also new to Sanditon is Alexander’s brother, Samuel Colbourne – a lawyer, and a charming bachelor.

There’s a unique emotional displacement that happens to people who migrated when they were old enough to have forged memories of life in their homeland but still young enough to be remolded by a new environment. As the years mount, and you become someone else somewhere else, that previous existence, now so distant from your current reality, begins to fade into a corner of your subconscious covered in the cobwebs of nostalgia.
But what of the people left behind, for whom you exist only as a frozen memory of somebody that you used to be? And if such a person, who only knew that now-nonexistent version of you, re-entered your life today, who would you be to each other? Former friends turned strangers? Living proof of who you both once were and of the moments lost to time?

Warning: This review contains spoilers for all four episodes of Litvinenko
Truth is stranger than fiction, they say – and Litvinenko shows why this is a gift to crime dramas. So often fictional crime dramas try to be too slick, too perfectly believable, but real life is messier, more mundane, more ridiculous than what most of us can imagine, and all the better for it.
Litvinenko doesn’t muck about, either – after the briefest of glimpses into what normal life looks like for the Litvinenko family in 2006 within five minutes we’re in hospital, and a wan, now-bald Litvinenko (David Tennant) is telling detectives he’s been poisoned, helping them solve his own murder even as he’s dying.
Yes, David Tennant with a Russian accent requires a mighty suspension of disbelief, but if any actor can take such a jarring adjustment and guide us via a convincing, skilful performance to a rapid place of acceptance,...

It’s the most wonderful tiiiiime of the yeeeeear! Wherever you fall on a festive scale of Scrooge to Elf, it’s certainly the best time of year for good telly: Christmas TV is every channel and streaming service’s time to shine, as they adorn their listings with sparkly specials and festive films. 2022 is no different, with everything from Christmas comedy offerings from Inside No. 9, to Ghosts and Detectorists, a new animated family film from the team behind The Gruffalo, and brand-new soppy festive rom-coms.
There’s also a growing selection box of Christmas dramas – including the last ever episode of Doc Martin – which is just as well considering this will be the first holiday season without a special Doctor Who episode since the show relaunched back in 2005.
We’ll keep this list updated with announcements and release dates as the Christmas TV schedules are confirmed, but for...

AMC is working to build a franchise out of the books and characters from Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles, so it’s not too surprising to hear that they’ve already ordered season 2 of Interview with the Vampire, which doesn’t begin airing until October 2nd – although I was hoping we’d be getting mini-series adaptations of each book in the series, rather than an ongoing Interview with the Vampire series.
Variety has confirmed that Interview with the Vampire season 2 will consist of eight episodes and will take place in Europe.
AMC’s Dan McDermott provided the following statement: “The scope and breadth of this show, and what Mark and Rolin have delivered, is just stupendous. They have rendered the rich and vibrant world of Anne Rice’s Interview in a wonderful way, and we’re incredibly proud. From the set build, to production design, costumes and more — no detail was overlooked.

The BAFTA TV Awards winners have been announced, and it was a big night for Michaela Coel, whose BBC and HBO series I May Destroy You scooped two of the biggest prizes of the evening.
During a pre-recorded ceremony at London’s iconic Television Centre, Coel walked away with best leading actress for her performance as sexual assault survivor Arabella, while I May Destroy You also scooped best mini-series, beating Steve McQueen’s Small Axe.
It follows I May Destroy You’s strong showing last month at the BAFTA TV Craft Awards, which celebrates the work of those working behind the scenes. Coel scored a BAFTA mask for best drama writer and best director at the ceremony.
After winning leading actress on Sunday, Coel collected her award in-person and thanked intimacy coach Ita O’Brien. Coel said O’Brien’s presence meant she could make a series about “exploitation, loss of respect,...

Steve McQueen’s anthology series Small Axe and Michaela Coel’s I May Destroy You dominated the BAFTA TV Craft Awards on Monday.
Small Axe clinched five wins, the most on a night that celebrated behind-the-scenes craftspeople, but it was I May Destroy You that secured two of the biggest gongs for Coel: Director: Diction, and Writer: Drama. The BBC/HBO series was also victorious in the Editing: Fiction category.
Coel, who beat McQueen in the directing category alongside co-director Sam Miller, accepted her writing win. “I would like to thank every draft. There are hundreds of them, each living only briefly and sacrificing themselves so the version we watched that won this BAFTA could exist,” she said.
BBC/Amazon series Small Axe’s prizes included JoJo Williams for Make Up & Hair Design; Jacqueline Durran for Costume Design; Helen Scott for Production Design; Shabier Kirchner for Photography & Lighting: Fiction; and Gary Davy for Scripted Casting.
