We’re not talking legal justice of course, the courts of law - pockmarked as they are by fallibility - were proved roughly as useful as a teapot by Cadbury’s in this gripping final instalment to The Escape Artist.
All that stuff drawing parallels between Burton and Foyle in episode one paid off in tonight’s finale, which saw the criminal barrister take the position of his former client as a man in the dock: guilty of murder, and relying on a brilliant mind to free him. Ten’s I Will Survive had one of its lowest results of the series on Tuesday night.
The musical competition, themed around the film Priscilla: Queen of the Desert, rated 277,000 across the five city metro market, according to preliminary ratings from OzTam.
The disappointing number is a fall on last week when the network switched form two episodes a week to one in the face of poor ratings. Last week’s episode rating 358,000.
The show’s previous preliminary ratings low of 281,000 total viewers was later consolidated to 263,000.
Last night’s episode was 34th for the night, 30th in the key advertising demographic of 16-39, 26th in 18-49 and 29th in 25-54.

After all 12 finalists’ performances on Monday night, Mel B’s team member singer-guitarist Adil Memon was voted off.

So yesterday's reports that Johnny Depp may film the next instalment of Pirates of the Carribean (well, parts of it) in picturesque St Ives is the biggest cultural boost for the county for a decade, since the right-on Eden Project got started and Cornwall finally got its own university.
