Kristen Wiig finds herself in for a rude awakening in this week’s Saturday Night Live promo, when she discovers her old dressing room has been ruined by the show’s new talent.
“I’m finally home,” Wiig says in the promo as she walks down the halls of Studio 8H, where she worked as a castmember from 2005 to 2012.
“The best part of being home returning to your childhood bedroom — or in my case, dressing room,” she continues, adding that executive producer Lorne Michaels “promised they’d always leave it just the way I left it.”
As she approaches the room, Wiig muses that she can’t wait to “see all my old wigs” and “my favorite costumes,” but when she opens the door, she finds her things tossed haphazardly into boxes to make room for a mess caused by current inhabitants of the dressing room — SNL featured players Michael Longfellow and Devon Walker.

“I’m finally home,” a radiant Kristen Wiig says at the top of the first promo for her Saturday Night Live hosting stint this weekend. “And the best part of returning home: Your childhood bedroom — or in my case, dressing room. Lorne promised he’s always leave it just the way I’d left it.”
The former castmember finds that things aren’t as she imagined, however, as Michael Longfellow and Devon Walker have converted Wiig’s former digs into a man cave replete with a sword, lacrosse stick, guitar and video game console.
“Hey Kristine. Lorne said we could have your old room,” says Longfellow as she walks in.
“You like what we did with it?” asks Walker.
Let’s just say Wiig is less than happy.

“Good afternoon, I’m Dana Bash, and welcome to Inside Politics,” announced the ever-dependable Heidi Gardner at the promising top of Saturday Night Live’s clearly politically inclined cold open tonight. “Later, we’ll give Wolf Blitzer an edible and an hour to solve the Middle East.”
Then it was right into Joe Biden’s latest bad poll numbers and California Gov. Gavin Newsom, as played by featured player Michael Longfellow, pumping it up for Uncle Joe. With Biden’s status as the oldest Commander-in-Chief ever the core of the cold opening, the sometimes stumbling and confused Potus got credit not just for a good economy but also Beyoncé going country, and the return of the Shamrock Shake at McDonald’s.

Sydney Sweeney doesn’t quite have a meet-cute in the first promo for her Saturday Night Live hosting debut.
The actress will host the sketch comedy show for the first time with musical guest Kacey Musgraves, who returns to the stage of the NBC series for the third time.
In a promo for this weekend’s episode, the Anyone But You star and SNL castmember Michael Longfellow are seen walking through Studio 8H. She’s reading a book, and he’s running through a list of jokes that are either not funny enough or too funny when they suddenly bump into each other, and everything goes flying.

The first promo for her Saturday Night Live hosting debut finds Sydney Sweeney strolling through studio 8H, book in hand, when she bumps into castmember Michael Longfellow. She drops her book, he picks it up and goes into a reverie about the title – Haruki Murakami’s Kafka on the Shore – as romantic music swells. We hear Longfellow’s internal monologue as he gets the courage up to ask Sweeney out, but then the clip cuts to Sweeney and, well, let’s say she’s not interested.

This weekend, "Saturday Night Live" gave Emma Stone the honor of joining the Five Timers Club. With her fifth time hosting the late night sketch comedy show, at age 35 she also became the youngest member of the exclusive club. Stone certainly proved that she deserves to join the ranks of the most legendary hosts of "SNL," as she delivered the best episode of season 49 so far.
In her previous hosting stints, Emma Stone showed that if she wasn't already a big time movie star, she could easily be a cast member on "SNL." Never afraid to be goofy, easily able to inhabit a variety of characters, and endlessly talented, Stone is one of the best hosts that "SNL" has ever seen. When it comes to her latest effort, "SNL" brought back a couple of recurring bits, including a favorite from Stone's previous times hosting the show.

Not a Halloween has gone by since 2016 that Saturday Night Live fans haven’t clamored for more David S. Pumpkins, and SNL has been chasing that Tom Hanks-fueled mainstream relevance ever since. Has “Any questions?” finally met its pop culture match in, “Lemme shmell those feet!”?

The centerpiece of “Saturday Night Live’s” March 4 “Weekend Update” segment was a skewering of “Dilbert” comic creator Scott Adams, who went on a racist rant last month that spurred dozens of newspapers to drop his long-running syndicated cartoon strip.
Michael Che, co-anchor of “Update” with Colin Jost, interviewed the cubicle-dweller himself, the cartoon character Dilbert, in an effort to understand how Adams could have gone so off the rails in suggesting that white people are under threat from Black people.
Over the course of a controversial YouTube video posted Feb. 22, Adams described how he purposely moved to a community with no Black residents and urged white viewers to “get the hell away from Black people.” He also called the Black community a “hate group.”
On “Weekend Update,” Che chided Jost about Adams: “So he lives in your community, huh?”

The second 2023 episode of “Saturday Night Live” will air January 28 on NBC with host Michael B. Jordan and musical guest Lil Baby. In NBC’s new promo video (watch below), Jordan is admiring the iconic stage when “SNL” featured player Michael Longfellow comes up behind him and taps his shoulder. Inadvertently channeling his boxing character Adonis Creed from the upcoming film “Creed III,” Jordan swiftly punches Longfellow in the face — twice.
“I am so sorry! It’s muscle memory, ” Jordan proclaims when he realizes what he just did to the “Saturday Night Live” newbie. He explains that back-to-back punches is “kinda how it works,” and then confirms that Longfellow’s nose is indeed “broken.”
Longfellow sighs, “I can’t have a broken nose. I was hired for my looks, not my talent.”

Michael B. Jordan might be a little too invested in his Creed III character during the first promo for his upcoming Saturday Night Live episode.
Jordan is set to make his SNL hosting debut during the Jan. 28 installment of the NBC comedy series alongside musical guest Lil Baby.
In a video released Wednesday, the Black Panther star is contemplatively taking in the sights of Studio 8H when he appears to get startled by castmember Michael Longfellow. Jordan proceeds to punch Longfellow not once but twice, causing the SNL featured player to exclaim, “Jesus B. Christ!”
A repentant Jordan replies, “I am so sorry — it’s muscle memory,” and confirms that Longfellow’s nose is indeed broken. This leads Longfellow to lament, “I can’t have a broken nose. I was hired for my looks, not my talent.”
Jordan then quips, “I know how that feels,” and the two appear to patch things up.

Saturday Night Live‘s latest prescription drug parody digs into the never-ending emotional confusion about the virus. Drug commercials are such an easy target for comedy. They portray a strange world where everyone is both deathly ill, but also cheerful and thankful for whatever wonder drug is curing their ailment. Look too sick and nobody will think your drug works; look too cheerful and people won’t think their sickness is bad enough to need your drug. So there’s plenty of room for jokes.

Jack Harlow will serve as the host and musical guest on the next episode of “Saturday Night Live,” set to air on Oct. 29. “SNL” announced the booking on this week’s episode, which also features another music star as both host and musical guest: Megan Thee Stallion.
This marks the first time Harlow has hosted “SNL,” and his second time as musical performer. He made his “Saturday Night Live” debut as musical guest on March 27, 2021, alongside host Maya Rudolph.
Harlow released his major label debut “That’s What They All Say” in 2020, and followed that up with this year’s “Come Home the Kids Miss You.” In 2021, he was named Variety’s hitmaker of the year. Harlow was just named songwriter of the year at the Sesac Music Awards.
“Saturday Night Live” returned for its Season 48 on Oct. 1, with Miles Teller making his debut as host for the first time.

“Saturday Night Live” opened its third episode of the season by taking on the Jan. 6 committee hearings, starring Kenan Thompson as United States Representative Bennie G. Thompson (D-ms). And the theme of the sketch was quite simple: No matter how bad the attempts to stage a coup and overthrow the nation were, there’s no accountability in this country… and nothing will ultimately come of it. Donald Trump will roam free, there’s little chance he’ll actually live up to the subpoena to appear in front of the committee, and there’s nothing they can do about it.
Liz Cheney, played by Heidi Gardner, noted that “Over the past few months, this bipartisan committee has presented our case to all Americans. Whether you’re a Republican who’s not watching or a Democrat who’s nodding so hard that your head is falling off, one person is responsible for this insurrection: Donald Trump.

"Saturday Night Live" is kicking off its 48th season with three back-to-back episodes. Last weekend brought Miles Teller to Studio 8H for an episode with some solid highs and disappointing lows. Thankfully, the second episode of the season, hosted by "Harry Potter" franchise co-star Brendan Gleeson, ramped up the hilarity with great success. The actor, who will soon be seen in "The Banshees of Inisherin," brought plenty of Irish charm to the late night sketch series, and he even got some help from his co-star Colin Farrell.
Though "SNL" was undoubtedly a fantastic showcase for Brendan Gleeson to let loose some broader comedic chops than we've seen from him before, this episode also let every single one of the new featured cast members shine brightly, each making quite the splash in a variety of ways. In fact, the featured players actually delivered what ended up being the best sketch of the night.

Saturday Night Live’s Season 48 opener was all about change.
The show introduced a new logo, a retro vibe that marked its first new look in eight years, and a cast size that was more reminiscent of classic seasons than the recent bloated pandemic years.
The departures of Kate McKinnon, Pete Davidson, Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney, Chris Redd, Melissa Villaseñor, Alex Moffat and Aristotle Athari has led to one of the series biggest transitions for the NBC show in over 20 years.

After a summer filled with cast exits and goodbyes, “Saturday Night Live” opened its 48th Season by poking fun at both frequent target President Trump and its own rebuilding period.
The sketch starred the premiere’s host Miles Teller and cast member Andrew Dismukes as sports stars and brothers Peyton and Eli Manning, in a parody of their “Monday Night Football” commentary show “Manningcast.” However, instead of analyzing the plays of a football game, the two instead turned their insight into the opening sketch of “Saturday Night Live’s” new season.
At the top of the sketch, Teller as Peyton addressed the shakeups that the series has gone through other the summer, which saw eight cast members — Chris Redd, Alex Moffat, Aristotle Athari, Melissa Villasenor, Pete Davidson, Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant and Kyle Mooney — announce their departures from the long-running sketch comedy series. “There are a lot of changes at the show,...

At the end of the 47th season of "Saturday Night Live" this past spring, the late-night sketch comedy show lost a quartet of comedians who decided to leave the series. Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney, and Pete Davidson all bid farewell to the series in the season finale, but the departures didn't end there. Just a couple weeks ago, leading up to the 48th season premiere of "SNL," it was announced that repertory cast members Alex Moffat and Melissa Villaseñor would also be departing the show after six years, along with featured player Aristotle Athari, who lasted just a single season on the series.
All those cast members moving on from "SNL" left plenty of gaps to fill, even in an ensemble that's still pretty sizeable, but executive producer Lorne Michaels has some new blood who will be joining the cast as the latest round of featured players. Who are they?...

Change is in the air! NBC announced Sept. 15 that Saturday Night Live's 48th season will see the addition of four new cast members, Marcello Hernandez, Molly Kearney, Michael Longfellow and Devon Walker. And while the quartet is new to Studio 8H, they're hardly new to the comedy scene. Marcello, a comedian, actor and writer from Miami, was selected as the Just for Laughs New Face of Comedy in 2022. Likewise, Molly has a solid background in comedy, having starred in Prime Video's A League of Their Own and Disney+'s Mighty Ducks. They were also selected for Comedy Central's "Up Next" showcase in 2019. Longfellow comes highly recommended,...

Lose some, add some. “Saturday Night Live” has named four new cast members for its upcoming season 48. Joining “SNL” are Marcello Hernandez, Molly Kearney, Michael Longfellow, and Devon Walker.
The (extremely) long-running NBC sketch comedy series lost some key players this summer, including Kate McKinnon, Kyle Mooney, Aidy Bryant, and (debatably key) Pete Davidson. They also trimmed Alex Moffat, Melissa Villaseñor, and Aristotle Athari.
Kearney has starred on Amazon’s “A League Of Their Own,” while Hernandez has opened for the likes of Tim Dillon and Gilbert Gottfried and appeared on Telemundo’s “Acceso Total.” Meanwhile, Longfellow appeared on NBC’s “Bring the Funny,” hosted by SNL’s own Keenan Thompson, and Walker has appeared on Comedy Central and has written for “Big Mouth” and Phoebe Robinson’s “Everything’s Trash.”

“Saturday Night Live” is trying to replenish its ranks after many of its best-known cast members have signaled they intend to leave the show.
The venerable NBC late-night program has enlisted four new featured players for its 48th season, a move that will lend some ballast to the cast after mainstays like Kate McKinnon and Aidy Bryant decided to leave. In many years, “”Saturday Night Live”” taps two or three new players per season, so four is more than the show typically brings on board.
The four new featured players include Marcello Hernandez, Molly Kearney, Michael Longfellow and Devon Walker. Hernandez, who bills himself as a writer, comedian and producer, is a Cuban-Dominican stand-up who has opened for Tim Dillon, Jim Breuer, Mark Viera, Gilbert Gottfried and others. Kearney is a Chicago-based comic. Longfellow, who hails from Arizona, has done stand up in Los Angeles. And Walker, who has made...
