The Hills Have Eyes 2. No, not that one. That’s The Hills Have Eyes Part 2 and has one of the greatest things ever filmed where a dog, an actual dog, has a flashback and its just, muah, chef’s kiss. While I actually think that original 1985 sequel is way too much fun for its own good – it was written and directed by Craven, brings back Michael Berryman, has Harry Manfredini give us the score, and oh yeah, has a dog flashback. A Dog, Flashback – I’m not here to talk about that one that is probably so bad it’s good. I’m here to discuss the true black sheep of this inbred mountain family and give you all a look at the movie that is not a remake of the sequel but rather a sequel to the remake. The Hills Have Eyes 2 (watch it Here) is a...

In 19 memorable episodes that aired over the course of a dozen years and across two different shows — CBS’ The Good Wife and its streaming spinoff The Good Fight — Carrie Preston played Elsbeth Tascioni, a brilliant lawyer whose eccentric behavior constantly threw off the heroes of those dramas. So naturally, when Preston gets her own series, simply titled Elsbeth, the character is now helping the NYPD solve murders. As one does, right?

Peter S. Fischer, co-creator of Murder, She Wrote and writer on dozens of crime series such as Columbo, Ellery Queen and Murder spinoff The Law and Harry McGraw, has died. Grandson Jake McElrath confirmed his passing to The Hollywood Reporter. Fischer was 88.
Peter S. Fischer is best known for co-creating the juggernaut Murder, She Wrote franchise with Richard Levinson and William Link. He wrote 264 episodes of the CBS series, including the pilot, which ran from 1984-1996. The lighthearted mystery drama landed in the Top 10 for eight of those seasons and the Top 15 for the first 11.
Fischer also created and wrote 15 episodes of spinoff The Law and Harry McGraw, starring Jerry Orbach. It spotlighted McGraw, a private investigator who appeared in three episodes of Murder, She Wrote. It ran for one season from 1987 to 1988.

“The story itself is just so compelling… it’s all about healing,” shares Caroline B. Marx about what drew her to the new Hulu series “UnPrisoned,” which centers on a daughter attempting to reconcile with her father after his 17-year prison sentence. The costume designer appreciated that the show is “based on reality” — it draws inspiration from the life of creator Tracy McMillan — and that it is “socially relevant.” Watch our exclusive video interview above.
Kerry Washington stars as Paige, a relationship therapist who welcomes her father Edwin (Delroy Lindo) into her home despite the effects his incarceration had on her as a child. Jackie Chan contains multitudes.
Although many American filmgoers know Chan best for his Hollywood blockbusters and family-friendly fare, his profound impact on global cinema cannot be denied. A martial arts master who has battered his body for decades doing his own stunts in his signature comedic style, Chan has acted in over 150 movies, making him one of the wealthiest and most globally recognizable stars of all time.
With martial arts films having a moment in the spotlight in 2023, with “Everything Everywhere All at Once” landing the Best Picture Oscar and “John Wick: Chapter 4” becoming a series-high box office sensation, it’s fitting that Shout Select has released their two part “Jackie Chan Collection” Blu-ray box sets, which are a great starting points for novices and worthy purchases for die-hard fans as well.

‘UnPrisoned’ Creator Tracy McMillan Breaks Down Series Finale, Shares Storyline Ideas for a Season 2
“UnPrisoned” creator and executive producer Tracy McMillan says she’s happy with the outcome of her dramedy, and tells TheWrap that she already has storyline ideas for a second season.
“I’m really pleased with where we ended up and where we took these characters,” McMillan said. “I’m excited to see where we go next. I feel like we really told a story about a family trying to put itself back together again and we told it with a lot of heart and a lot of humor.”
The Onyx Collective-Hulu original series dropped all its eight episodes on Hulu on March 10, and it is now Onyx’s most-watched Hulu premiere to date, as well as the most-watched Hulu Original scripted series thus far this year, as far as hours watched, according to Onyx.

Delroy Lindo isn’t the type to map out a five or 10-year plan for his life. “Apparently I’m not built like that,” the veteran actor says. But when it comes to his career, the idea, as he explains it, was to always “quote-unquote continue working as best as I could.”
At 70, Lindo is currently the lead in Hulu’s half-hour comedy UnPrisoned alongside Kerry Washington. He stars as Edwin, a formerly incarcerated father striving to repair his relationship with his daughter Paige, played by Washington. While he admits that he didn’t necessarily know that he’d still be acting nearly 50 years after his film debut in John Candy’s 1976 comedy Find the Lady, he didn’t exactly think that he wouldn’t be working now either.

“I think the single most important thing that I wanted to get right was to depict a justice-impacted family accurately,” shares Tracy McMillan about one of her goals in writing the new Hulu series “UnPrisoned.” The show is based in part on her life story, as her father spent much of her life in prison while she grew up in foster homes. In another world, UnPrisoned might have been a drama series. Instead, the story is told through a half-hour comedy about a therapist and single mom whose life is turned right-side-up when her dad gets out of prison and moves in with her and her teenage son.
The series is inspired by creator Tracy McMillan’s own life. Speaking at Deadline’s Contenders TV panel on Sunday, McMillan said she wanted to “capture the tone of my actual relationship with my dad and my son, which we’re sort of lively, upbeat people who like to laugh at ourselves.
“I really wanted to capture that there’s so much lightness in the way that we move through things. Of course, there’s all the other very intense feelings as well, but we’re not gritty people that way. So I just felt like the show should reflect real life,” she said.

To the casual observer, the fashion industry and all the glamorous red carpets, runways, photo shoots and campaigns where its wares are presented, posed and fawned over, the business can, at the very least, seem sprawling and intimidating.
But when you get a chance to peek behind the curtain — like The Hollywood Reporter did on Tuesday night during an intimate dinner co-hosted with Jimmy Choo at West Hollywood’s Sunset Tower to celebrate the magazine’s annual 25 Most Powerful Stylists list — the façade is stripped away to reveal something much more personal, familial even.
Actually, the most fitting description would be a family reunion — that is, if your relatives wear Loewe, Chanel or vintage Paco Rabanne paired with a chic pair of Jimmy Choos. But don’t take our word for it, trust real-life siblings Elle and Dakota Fanning who arrived together with their personal power stylist, honoree Samantha McMillen.

Hulu's "UnPrisoned" is the unconventional father-daughter story we've yet to see on television, but it's a necessary watch that speaks to a lot of real-world topics. The heartwarming dramedy - created and executive produced by Tracy McMillan - premiered on the streamer on March 10, introducing viewers to a "messy but perfectionist relationship therapist and single mom" named Paige (played by Kerry Washington), "whose life is turned right-side-up when her dad, [Edwin], (Delroy Lindo) gets out of prison and moves in with her and her teenage son, Finn (Faly Rakotohavana)."

"We're showing a Black family and an experience that has not been seen on television before," she says. "We've seen people in prison and we've seen people going to prison, but...

Tracy McMillan, the creator and executive producer of Onyx Collective/Hulu’s newest dramedy “UnPrisoned,” says she didn’t create the series as a “favor” for the audience, but rather as an outlet to work through her own trauma.
She’s an author, realtionship expert, TV writer and now the creator of “UnPrisoned,” a half-hour dramedy based on McMillan’s life adjusting to her now-late father re-entering her life after being freed from prison. The series stars Kerry Washington, who plays Paige, the “UnPrisoned” version of McMillan. While Paige’s father’s (Delroy Lindo) transition out of incarceration establishes the show, viewers eventually peel back even more layers of her life, which involves traumatic memories from prison visits and living in foster homes.

As a performer, Kerry Washington is particularly adept at conveying uptightness — her crispness of bearing and her rat-a-tat delivery suggest a certain passion for organization, for rigor. This was the ingredient that helped elevate “Scandal,” and the emotionally chaotic but professionally fastidious character of Olivia Pope. Now, on the Hulu sitcom “UnPrisoned,” Washington’s back to the angle that suits her best — and at the heart of a sweetly intended show of disarming quality.
Here, Washington plays Paige, a relationship therapist whom viewers may not be shocked to learn hasn’t quite got herself figured out. Her tendency to dispense advice about fixing romantic partnerships rubs up against the fact that she makes poor choices. We learn, gradually, about the role model she’s emulating in her own way: Her father, Edwin, newly released from prison, is at once astoundingly charismatic and someone with an entangled personal life. “I’ve got one daughter, and you’ve got one daddy,” Edwin (Delroy Lindo) reminds his daughter Paige (Kerry Washington) in the trailer for the new Hulu series “UnPrisoned.” Their relationship is at the heart of the comedy, in which they reunite after Edwin spent 17 years in prison on drug charges. Based on writer and executive producer Tracy McMillan’s own life, the show will chronicle how that reunion unfolds and the impact Edwin has on Paige and her son, Finn (Faly Rakotohavana), when he moves in with them. All ten episodes premiere on Friday, March 10. Watch the full trailer above.

The cast of Hulu’s latest dramedy “Unprisoned” kept the family spirit alive at the show’s premiere at the Hollywood Legion Theater on Thursday night.
The show’s cast and crew — including Kerry Washington, Delroy Lindo, Faly Rakotohavana, Marque Richardson, Jee Young Han, Jordyn McIntosh, showrunner Yvette Lee Bowser and creator Tracy McMillan — examined what it means to be a “traditional” family on the red carpet before a screening of the first two episodes.
The series follows relationship therapist and single mom Paige (Washington), “whose life is turned right-side-up when her dad (Lindo) gets out of prison and moves to her house to live with her and her teenage son,” according to the show’s official synopsis.
“I wanted to show a family that every person in America would identify with, even though they’re facing very specific circumstances,” McMillan told Variety. “This is at its heart, a father-daughter story.

Yvette Lee Bowser points to Unprisoned — Onyx’s first scripted comedy that stars Kerry Washington and Delroy Lindo — as a key example of how far TV has come when it comes to telling contemporary Black stories.
“We are absolutely making progress,” said Bowser, whose numerous credits include A Different World, Living Single, black-ish and now serving as showrunner on Unprisoned. “I’ve been in the business 35 years. It’s beginning to change. It’s incredibly cathartic and incredibly rewarding to be here to shepherd such a beautiful, fresh story … we as Black writers have been fighting to tell a story. Now we find ourselves in a period of time that we can go deeper, much deeper, why we struggle to love.”

I feel like the horror genre has had a recent surge in movies that seem to centre on a certain theme or story, say a couples struggling relationship and then almost adding on anything horror-related after, or at least that’s how it seems. This is not necessarily a new or a bad thing but in the movies I have watched recently it does seem to be happening more than before.
Shot in the Dark focuses on a guy, William (Kristoffer McMillan), who is still struggling with something that happened in his life two years previous. Now suicidal, his career is failing and he has moved to his home town in the hope that old friends and familiar surroundings...

Despite its precision film-making and a standout performance from Kristoffer McMillan, this bloody thriller is a grisly watch
This gory, lowish-budget thriller is quite competently made on a technical level, with umbral cinematography that is choreographed down to the millimetre along with the flash-cut-heavy editing and shrieky score and sound design. But it is not exactly a fun watch unless you really like lots of violence and jumbled-timeline puzzle stories. It feels like a calling card effort for the team that made it, which includes the co-writer and director, Keene McRae, making his first feature here as well as taking a supporting role, and the actors Kristoffer McMillan and Lane Thomas, who co-wrote the script with McRae and took on assorted other duties off camera. Good luck to them, because they certainly have skills, if a less assured touch with character building.

It’s the moment many “America’s Got Talent” acts have been waiting for: the roast of Simon Cowell.
On Wednesday night’s finale, Mike E. Winfield hosted the special performance, bringing out Don McMillan, Mr. Pants, Lace Larrabee and the roast master himself, Jeff Ross, to all take a swipe at Cowell.
McMillan was criticized by Cowell during his audition for using a PowerPoint presentation. So, in an act of defiance, McMillan once more did a PowerPoint presentation — much to Cowell’s dismay — of the media mogul’s likes and dislikes.
Number 1 on the dislikes was, unsurprisingly, PowerPoints; others included shaving, clowns and parmesan cheese.
He also poked fun at Cowell’s recent bike accidents, adding: “Too soon?”
