Kat Walsh(IV)

Kat Walsh (they/them) is the newest and youngest addition to the Black Public Media family. They graduated from Ithaca College in May 2019 with their B.F.A in Film, Photography, and Visual Arts and a minor in International Politics. As the Social Media Coordinator, they work with Engagement head, Cheryl Fields, and is responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring BPM's social media strategy in order to increase brand awareness, audience engagement and improve our marketing and sales efforts. Their work as a filmmaker mainly focuses on the discrepancies that young people are faced with regarding race, gender and sexuality. Their most recent film, "Chick Flicks" (where they worked as Director of Photography) is a documentary focused on the misogyny and sexism apparent in film school and how it translates into the entertainment industry.
