“Speed” is hardly a masterpiece or even the best action film of the 1990s, but it did help cement Keanu Reeves as an action star (alongside Kathryn Bigelow‘s “Point Break“) and was one of the movies that introduced audiences to future Oscar-winner Sandra Bullock. However, its sequel “Speed 2: Cruise Control” is not only a cautionary tale of what not to do with a follow-up to a hit studio blockbuster – replacing their main lead with some other guy (Jason Patric) – but is also considered one of the worst films of the 1990s.

This DuckTales article contains spoilers for the recent Darkwing Duck special.
The people behind the new DuckTales are massive fans of Darkwing Dark. You can’t deny it after the recent big “crossover” episode aired on Disney, which finally brought Darkwing and his extended cast fully into the story of DuckTales. It featured a deeply compelling story about Darkwing, Gosalyn, and Launchpad, furthered DuckTales‘ current story arc, And tons of references, big and small, to Darkwing and the Disney Afternoon.
Putting together an episode like that is not easy so we had to sit down with DuckTales Co-Executive Producer Frank Angones and Executive Producer Matt Youngberg to discuss the genesis of the episode, how they adapted Darkwing’s tone to DuckTales, and what this all means for the future of the “Disney Afternoon Universe.”
Den of Geek: Would you say that all of the new DuckTales has been leading to this Darkwing Duck episode?...

Editor Doug Abel provides a behind-the-scenes look at Netflix’s Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness in a new episode of The Hollywood Reporter’s Behind the Screen podcast series.
In a remotely recorded episode, Abel — whose credits include Michael Moore’s Fahrenheit 11/9 and Errol Morris’ Oscar-winning documentary The Fog of War — shares how this series started with a look at the treatment of animals and evolved into a story beyond belief that follows several big cat collectors and animal rights activists, centering on breeder and former zoo owner Joseph Maldonado-Passage, aka Joe Exotic. His story ranges from a ...

Andy and Taylor Newton were understandably nervous to score Doctor Sleep, a film that merges the genius of writer Stephen King and The Shining director Stanley Kubrick. They found solace, however, in an unexpected member of the cast: Bonkers the cat.
“We were pretty serious for most of the 18 months we worked on the film. We would laugh at each other because Bonkers would look so calm,” Andy tells Rolling Stone of the feline who played Dan Torrance’s sidekick, Azzie. “We thought that was hilarious. Anytime anyone was stressed,...

The Bold and the Beautiful recently added a furry new character, Harry, the son of the show's new stalker, Zoe, and her ex, Xander Avant. In his scenes so far, Harry has been played perfectly by (appropriately named) Purrfect, and I jokingly referred to him on Twitter as my favorite new soap opera character in ages.
It brought to mind the many random pets on soaps over the years, such as Todd Manning's parrot, a blue and gold macaw parrot named Moose, on One Life to Live; Daisy Cortlandt's cat, Bonkers, on All My Children; and Victor Newman's trusty Young and the Restless dog, Zapata, who discovered his owner after he had an epileptic seizure. Another World's Felicia Gallant had a number of dogs over the years, including Bibi, Daisy and Paris. The list goes on and on.
Legendary soap writer Claire Labine once said it seemed "natural" to see pets on soaps.
