Each week on “The Pit Stop,” Trixie Mattel recaps the latest episode of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 16 alongside a guest host. Following Friday’s sixth episode, season 12 finalist Crystal Methyd stops by to “welcome the girls to the family” by “judging their awful outfits.” Watch the full episode above via the official RuPaul’s Drag Race channel on YouTube.
In their recap of the episode, Crystal confirms that she’s rooting for her Missouri sister Q and that after a few episodes she finally gets the “character” of Plane Jane and is hoping for her to get in a physical fight. Crystal likens Jane to her own drag family member Daya Betty, saying she “knows what she’s in there to do,” but admits that she doesn’t like “Burger Finger” and doesn’t have as clear of a point of view with her drag as other girls like Dawn and Plasma.

“It’s always humbling because every show has its moment. I’m glad we’re still in the conversation,” declares executive producer Tom Campbell about the continued success of the “RuPaul’s Drag Race” TV empire. For our recent webchat he adds, “I still remember for eight seasons when we were on Logo. Any year, the show could have been canceled for a million reasons. So, I feel like “Drag Race” is the tree that grew out of the crack in the sidewalk. You know, it’s really this miracle thing that keeps giving.” We talked with Campbell as part of Gold Derby’s special “Meet the Experts” Q&a event with 2022 Emmy Awards nominees. “I do wanna say that it’s such an honor and I know it sounds so cheesy,” declares Michelle Visage, producer and permanent judge on “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” about the slew of Emmy nominations for the hit competition series. “We never ever take for granted that, ‘oh, we’re, we’re gonna be nominated.’ We don’t know that, and I say this with all due respect, you know, we didn’t get our first nominations until series nine, so you never know what’s gonna happen. It’s been an amazing ride from the beginning, never knowing anything!”
The multi-hyphenate producer and performer was also thrilled that her popular online companion series, “Whatcha Packin’ with Michelle Visage,” scored its first Emmy nomination for Best Short Form Nonfiction or Reality Series. For our recent webchat she reveals, “I literally got out of my car. I was screaming up and down.

Things just keep getting better for “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Season 14 winner Willow Pill.
Pill is eligible and will be submitted for Emmy consideration for her original song, “I Hate People,” which she performed at the show’s finale on VH1 in April.
Willow co-wrote the anthemic song about not liking anyone with Brett Leland McLaughlin and Gabe Lopez.
“The song ‘I Hate People’ was such a blast to work on because we wanted to go totally left of what the audience would expect,” Pill said of working on the number, in an exclusive statement to TheWrap. “The song is irreverent, catchy and tends to resonate with people after a rough 2 years.”

Season 14 of "RuPaul's Drag Race" was unlike any other we've ever seen. From the unexpected twists to the out-of-the-box fashions to a historic finale, this season's cast held nothing back as they competed for the "Drag Race" crown. Despite the return to the showy Drag Race pomp and circumstance, the Season 14 finale couldn’t quite match up to Season 13’s ratings.

I have to admit that I am not usually a big fan of the reunion episodes of Ru Paul’s Drag Race as sometimes they feel as if they are just a filler episode to meet the required episode count. The fact that a whole hour episode was dedicated to looking at things that the audience had already watched felt like a waste of time and was simply a way to add an extra commissioned episode to the season! This initial idea was only intensified by the fact that many people have viewed this season as the never-ending show with numerous episodes where no one was eliminated or queens have returned, I was already anticipating another meaningless episode where nothing changes in the overall competition. However, last week’s episode that saw all the queens of season fourteen return was one of my favourite episodes! We had the classic revisiting...

We've found our new winner! America's Next Drag Superstar was crowned in a grand ceremony on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 14 Episode 16.
A fabulous night of Las Vegas shenanigans and showgirl looks closed the book on a roller-coaster season.
Did the finale end on a high note? Did the Final five come to slay? (I've got a wittle feeling that it didn't disappoint.)
Before we get into the lip-syncing, we need to chat about the finale looks. The queens go all out for "Grand Finale," so these ensembles end on a bang!
Alyssa Hunter, Kornbread, Kerri Colby, Angeria Paris VanMichaels, and Lady Camden had the Top 5 favorite looks of the night.
Alyssa and Angeria shined in their breathtaking opulent gowns. Alyssa always brought style to the runway, but her rich madam look and money fan redeemed any issues over her lip-sync mishap.
And Angeria's gigantic blue showgirl feathers stole the show.

Who will win “RuPaul’s Drag Race 14“? After the double eliminations of DeJa Skye and Jorgeous, only five queens remained in the running to win the crown on Friday night. In a series first, no one was eliminated in the penultimate episode, which meant the Final 5 queens (not Final 4) would compete in the finale: Willow Pill, Lady Camden, Bosco, Angeria Paris VanMicheals and Daya Betty. Willow has been Gold Derby’s predicted winner for several weeks in a row, with Lady Camden nipping at her heels. Do you agree or disagree with your fellow “Drag Race” fans?

When RuPaul Charles crowns “America’s next drag superstar” on the season 14 grand finale of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” it will be after 16 queens were narrowed down to a first ever final five by two talent shows, 10 eliminations, five non-eliminations, one double-elimination, six chocolate bars, one disappointing “Snatch Game” resulting in seven bottom queens, six mini challenges, two double shantays, one gold bar, and 14 maxi challenges. As “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 14 ends this Friday, the show will be filmed live from Las Vegas, home to the “RuPaul’s Drag Race Live” extravaganza. “Las Vegas is a city in drag. That’s why drag queens have been here before ‘Drag Race,’ they will be here after, and that’s why it was the perfect place,” say producer Tom Campbell.
The “Reunion” episode brought a Vegas level of grandeur as the season’s queens came out to reflect on their experience. The Drag Race Live stage at the Flamingo Hotel was transformed into the show’s werk room, as host RuPaul Charles was joined by Alyssa Hunter, Angeria Paris VanMicheals, Bosco, Daya Betty, Deja Skye, Deja Skye, Jorgeous, June Jambalaya, Kerri Colby, Kornbread “The Snack” Jeté, Lady Camden, Maddy Morphosis, Orion Story and Willow Pill. “RuPaul’s Drag Race” will crown its season 14 queen on Friday night, but for the first time ever, five will face off in the finale. They will each perform a solo number and then after a first-round elimination, the top two will face off in a lip sync battle.
Before the top five remaining queens, Angeria Paris VanMichaels, Bosco, Daya Betty, Lady Camden and Willow Pill battle it out, they shared their finale red carpet looks.
Lady Camden is the first British queen to appear on the main show. She shared her red carpet look on social media, and she was not horsing around when she wrote, “What do gay horses eat? Sorry I was late I had to take the horse and carriage to the theater.”
Daya Betty’s red carpet look paid homage to the burlesque queens of the Las Vegas strip. The season 14 finalist wrote, “Hats what you...

I have been an avid follower of all things Ru Paul’s Drag Race for many years now, especially the music that goes out of the show. In fact, I have created the ultimate drag race playlist that contains music from some of the most iconic songs to come from Drag Race queens both during and after their appearance on the show. I have spent many an evening in the shower trying to workshop a verse to some of Drag Race‘s most iconic songs wherein the moment I think I would excel on the challenge whereas the truth is I would probably end up in the bottom! On top of this, if you are ever lucky enough to go on a night out with me, there will come to a point where I will request a Drag Race song from the DJ which has had various responses dependent on the club I am in.

In the wise words of Shangela, "halleloo!"
The reunion format we knew and loved returned on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 14 Episode 15. And the queens delivered an entertaining night that kept us fed with all the delicious drama.
Tea was spilled. Emotions were felt. Arguments got yelled. "Reunited!" served the reunion we sorely missed.
There's something about getting the queens in a room together to dish the dirt that can't be topped.
Reunions that feel real and raw stand out amongst the best in reality TV, and Drag Race has served up plenty of amazing ones. Like, the reunion on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 9 will forever set the standard for the modern Drag Race reunion.
A great mix of emotional throwbacks and spicy drama to keep us hooked. You could say it gets our "fan favorite" award!
Plus, anything that erases the trainwreck that was RuPaul's Drag Race Season 13 Episode 15 is a blessing in my book.

The longest season in RuPaul’s Drag Race herstory gave way to an appropriately eventful reunion on Friday, as the Season 14 queens — including June Jambalaya, Orion Story and several other names lost to history — reunited at the Flamingo Las Vegas to clear the air.
But the headliner of this 90-minute affair was none other than Daya Betty, who was forced to reckon with the choices that led her to being labeled this season’s villain.

In recent years there has been a sudden rise in popularity of the comedy format known as a roast. There is in fact a whole series on Comedy Central that is solely made up of this structure with one-off specials that have appeared on many different channels over the past couple of years and you only need to spend a few minutes with young people for them to mention them “roasting” one another. There have been many roast challenges in Drag Race and last week we saw the first-ever one with the designated victim for the night being none other than the hilarious Ross Matthew. The challenge led to the ever-surprising announcement of a three-way lip-sync where it was guaranteed by Ru Paul that two queens would be going home. It was in fact the “villain” of the season Daya Betty who emerged victoriously and toppled the two so-called lip-sync assassins of season fourteen,...

In episode 13 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 14, RuPaul Charles put the queens to the comedy test in the annual roast challenge. The jokes Daya Betty, DeJa Skye and Jorgeous dropped about Ross Mathews weren’t good enough to keep them from a threeway lipsync where only one of them would make it out alive. Once again, Daya was able to put some lipsync assassins in their place, sending both DeJa and Jorgeous home.
This week, the final five write and perform their own lyrics to a remix of Ru’s new single “Catwalk.” This penultimate challenge in the season is their ultimate test of charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent and will show Ru, Ross and the other judges who is ready to fight for the crown in the finale.
The seven remaining queens are: Angeria Paris VanMicheals, Bosco, Daya Betty, Lady Camden, and Willow Pill. Check out our full recap...

The end is almost here! We're only two weeks away from crowning America's Next Drag Superstar.
On RuPaul's Drag Race Season 14 Episode 14, this marked the final round for the queens in the studio phase. It's their last chance to show the judges what they're bringing to the table before the finale.
Did the queens set the stage on fire? Did the right queens make it to the finale? This round hinged on it.
"Catwalk" followed the same formula as in past seasons, like on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 13 Episode 14.
The music video Maxi Challenge is the big closing number that puts all their skills to the test. Dance, lyrics, runway, and sometimes acting are needed to shine and secure that final spot.
It's a tough challenge, but the judges are more lenient when the season nears the end. They're much more about praising and rewarding the queens for their journey.

Following last week’s double elimination of lip sync assassins Jorgeous and DeJa Skye, only five queens remain in the hunt for the 14th crown of “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” Heading into episode 14, the field is fairly even in terms of record. Bosco leads with three challenge wins, but was also up for elimination more often than any of the others. Daya Betty was one of the first queens eliminated before coming back, but has managed to dodge a second elimination with strong lip syncs of her own. Angeria Paris VanMichaels, Willow Pill and Lady Camden have all been consistent, only falling to the bottom once (with everyone else) after the “Snatch Game.”

Just over two years ago I and my Aunty decided to plan and French-themed night so I could watch, for the first time, the hit musical Les Miserables. Despite being a massive musical theatre fan, I had never seen the West End’s longest-running production and so my Aunty made it a must that we enjoyed it together. We have dressed up in our French-est attires and bought some baguettes and Profiteroles for our mid-show snack. We were all set up ready to turn the musical on … only to realise that someone had borrowed the DVD and not given it back! We had to quickly adapts and lucky were able to find a recording of the wonderfully eccentric French, cabaret inspired musical Moulin Rouge. This was my first exposure to the totally unique movie and I thought it could not get any more outrè but Ru Paul’s Drag Race proved me wrong!

Improv and comedy challenges seem to be the weakness of these queens. Case in point: the mixed reception of the jokes during RuPaul's Drag Race Season 14 Episode 13.
Landing a joke is a fine art, and some of these performers were skilled comics. For the others? The cringe was in full effect.
But did "The Ross Mathews Roast" live up to the Roasts that came before?
For an excellent Roast to be legendary in Drag Race herstory, it needs some powerhouse zingers, a few memorable moments, and more than half of the queens doing well.
"The Ross Mathews Roast" didn't meet the match of the strong Roasts of the past.
The Roasts of RuPaul and Michelle Visage were epic challenges that will never be forgotten. And the laughs from the Roast on RuPaul's Secret Celebrity Drag Race can still be heard today.

Two long weeks ago we saw one of the worst snatch game performances in Drag Race her-story with only one of the queens doing a good job. This came as a total surprise as everyone online had been talking about how talented this group of queens are! Last week however the cast were given the opportunity to redeem themselves in a lip-sync smackdown tournament which delivered some incredible performances throughout. Everyone is still talking about That lip-sync between Lady Camden and Bosco to “Don’t Let Go” which was filmed perfectly. There was a moment when the camera focussed on Lady Camden during the emotionally driven song but we could still see Bosco in the background also delivering a great performance. This was a masterpiece of cinematography and is something that we need to see more of from Drag Race in the future! We also saw a slightly more positive side...

The news is golden over at the Moulin Ru!
After weeks of guesses and eliminations, the RuPaul candy bar saved one lucky queen on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 14 Episode 12. It's a big surprise for a reveal we didn't see coming.
"Non-elimination March" finished its run with three weeks of a queen not going home. But did the Parisian festivities make up for another non-elimination round?
"Moulin Ru: The Rusical" packed plenty of drama and excitement to keep us hooked. Between the casting drama and the runway surprises, this round kept us fed with all the Drag Race shenanigans we love.

Each week on “The Pit Stop,” Monét X Change runs down the tricks and trades of the newest episode of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” with a guest host. Following Friday’s eleventh episode, Monét welcomed the “All Stars 6” lipsync smackdown standout Silky Nutmeg Ganache to give her first hand experience perspective to season 14’s “Lipsync Lalaparuza Smackdown.” Watch the full episode above via the official RuPaul’s Drag Race channel on YouTube.

They liked that Jasmine got to get something else off her chest by choosing to go against Daya in the lipsync,...
