True Detective is back after a five-year layoff, but that’s nothing compared to how long it’s been since Jodie Foster last starred in a TV series.
Foster — who stars as Alaska police chief Liz Danvers in the new fourth season of HBO’s crime anthology, subtitled Night Country (premiering this Sunday at 9/8c) — hasn’t been a full-time TV actor since her early teen years in the 1970s. (Did you know she co-starred in a TV version of Paper Moon?) But the Oscar winner was lured back to the small screen by the prospect of being on True Detective,...

Elvis Presley is still an influential and beloved singer, but he doesn’t have the most No. 1 hits ever. With her hit “Touch My Body,” Mariah Carey beat Elvis’ record. However, she still doesn’t have the most No. 1 hits of all time.
Mariah Carey thanked her fans for getting ‘Touch My Body’ to beat Elvis’ record
2008 was a very sexy year for popular music. Lots of the biggest hits of that year were risque, such as Lil Wayne’s “Lollipop,” Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl,” Usher’s “Love in This Club,” and Flo Rida’s “Low.” One of the more memorable tunes from that year was Carey’s playful “Touch My Body.”
In her 2020 autobiography The Meaning of Mariah Carey, Carey recalled learning that “Touch My Body” hit No. 1. “Thanks to my fans, who really got behind the song, knowing how significant it would be, ‘Touch My Body’ became my eighteenth No.

Colorful, chaotic character masks may be the great equalizer on “The Masked Singer,” but that doesn’t mean they’re all that easy to perform in. In fact, for season 8 runners-up the Lambs, holding their microphones with their hooves was about as easy as jumping out of a plane.
On Wednesday night’s finale, the Lambs came in second to the Harp, who was revealed to be “Glee” star Amber Riley. So, who were the Lambs? Well, as judge Robin Thicke guessed, the trio was none other than Wilson Phillips, the group best known for their song “Hold On.” But, according to the women, holding on to their equipment was no easy task in their costumes.
“Honestly, we might as well have been skydiving,” Carnie Wilson told TheWrap with a laugh. Her sister, Wendy Wilson, readily agreed, adding that the hooves weren’t even the hardest aspect of the costumes to maneuver.

Warning: Massive spoilers ahead for the Season 8 finale of “The Masked Singer”
Season 8 of “The Masked Singer” has come to a close, and it was a fierce competition between the final two acts. In the end, though, only one could take home the title. And that one was…
…the Harp! The golden string instrument took home the Golden Mask trophy, making the Lamb trio the runners-up for the season. Harp and Lambs quickly became frontrunners after their debuts on the show, and the latter marked a historical milestone for the show, as their advancement to the finale marked the first time a group act ever made it to the top two in the competition.

Exclusive: Fox has a lot to be thankful for this week. After three days of delayed viewing, The Masked Singer‘s Thanksgiving episode drew the network’s highest-rated Thursday original telecast in over six years.
The episode, which was the Season 8 semifinals, scored a 2.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic, according to Live+3 Day Nielsen data. A Thursday program hasn’t scored that well for Fox since the finale of American Idol in April 2016.
It’s also the highest rating a regular Thursday primetime entertainment telecast has received in L+3 across all of cable and broadcast since the series finale of The Big Bang Theory on CBS in 2019.
It’s worth noting that the episode had a lead in from the Dallas Cowboys win over the New York Giants, which drew an NFL viewing record of its own with a massive 42 million people watching that game.

Thanksgiving brought a second plateful of “The Masked Singer” this week, as the show got into its semifinals. The competitors for the night were Snowstorm, Harp and the Lambs. And sadly, after a strong run on the show it was Snowstorm who didn’t make it through.
Snowstorm came out strong as a blizzard on the show, singing Ariana Grande’s “Thank U, Next.” The singer made her debut on “Comedy Roast Night” and got in some pretty good digs at host Nick Cannon, and how many kids he’s had. Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched the Season 8, episode 9, of “The Masked Singer,” “Fright Night,” which aired Nov. 23 on Fox.
Perhaps “The Masked Singer” judges are finally figuring out that this year’s episodic themes frequently reference the week’s new disguised celebrity contestants. This Wednesday’s episode was dubbed “Fright Night,” so who ya gonna call? “Ghostbusters” singer Ray Parker, Jr., of course. And who might also lurk on stage? “Exorcist” star Linda Blair.
That’s right, for the episode’s reveals, Parker, Jr., and Blair were the next stars to be unmasked.
Blair, as the Scarecrow, stunned host Nick Cannon and the audience by volunteering to unmask and let the other two contestants duke it out to move on to next week. “I love this show so much,” she said. “I came to share how much I love you and what you all...

(Warning: Spoilers ahead for Wednesday night’s episode of “The Masked Singer”).
In honor of Thanksgiving, fans are getting a double helping of “The Masked Singer” this week. Unfortunately, it meant another double elimination on Wednesday night.
This time around, fans saw Sir Bugaboo and Scarecrow competing against Snowstorm for a spot in the semifinals, set to air on Fox on Thursday night. In the end, Snowstorm came out victorious, and will face Harp and the Lambs in the next round. Sadly, Snowstorm’s victory meant the end of the road for Sir Bugaboo and Scarecrow.
Leading into the episode, the only clue that fans had about Sir Bugaboo was a bow tie, courtesy of his Mask-Ray at the start of the season. Many initial guesses included Bill Nye, who is famous for wearing a bow tie in his videos. But, in the end, the Cheshire Cat-esque character was...

As “The Masked Singer” host Nick Cannon revealed this week that he’s expecting his 12th – yes, 12th – child, the Fox series addressed the star’s baby making capabilities several times throughout Wednesday’s episode — even though it was taped in the summer, when Cannon’s tally had just reached the double digits.

“The Masked Singer” paid tribute to late actor Leslie Jordan on Wednesday night’s episode, opening with a brief card dedicating the episode “to a beloved member of the Fox family, Leslie Jordan 1955-2022.”
