Dennis Miller has served as a director of Nexstar since February 2014.
Dennis Miller currently serves as Chairman of Industrial Media, the independent production group launched with the reorganization of CORE Media and the acquisition of The Intellectual Property Corporation (www.industrial-media.com). Industrial Media companies produce over 63 shows across 32 networks annually including the global hit "American Idol" for ABC and "So You Think You Can Dance" for Fox, and the "90 Day Fiancé" franchise for TLC. Additionally, Industrial Media's 19 Recordings has launched the music careers of platinum artists including Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Daughtry, Phillip Phillips, Lauren Alaina and recent "American Idol" winner Maddie Poppe. Industrial Media has invested in or acquired 19 Entertainment, IPC, B17, Sharp Entertainment, Momentum and Fairhaven Films.
Prior to Industrial Media, Miller held senior executive positions at Turner Network Television, Sony Pictures and Lionsgate Television. He spent the last 15 years in venture capital investing in companies including College Sports Television, TVONE, Capital IQ and K-12. More recently he was a General Partner in Spark Capital, which Spark's investments include companies such as Twitter, Tumblr, Adaptv, Wayfair, Square, Slack, Cruise and Oculus Rift. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Nexstar, Double Eagle Acquisition Corp., and as Chair of the National Advisory Board of Green Dot Charter Schools.
Mr. Miller became more active in philanthropy starting with a teaching stint for Tom Nazario's program at Boalt Hall teaching disadvantaged youth legal skills in Oakland high schools. Since then, Mr. Miller and his family have been involved with Year Up in Boston, Green Dot Charter Schools, The Forgotten, UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital, and numerous political campaigns.
