In a recent interview with Febri, director Keiichi Sato shed some insights into the creative process behind the currently airing Go! Go! Loser Ranger! anime adaptation.
During the interview Keiichi revealed that he drew inspiration from the American satirical superhero series ‘The Boys‘ when it came to adapting Negi Haruba’s Go! Go! Loser Ranger! manga into an anime, as he desired to capture the dark and complex world of anti-heroes.
He highlighted the prevalence of anti-hero themes in both domestic and international media landscapes, citing The Boys as a prominent example. He noted that Go! Go! Loser Ranger! with its premise of a protagonist from the villain side challenging a justice hero with hidden darkness, resonates with the themes explored in The Boys.
This combined with the manga’s surprising plot twists, convinced Sato to infuse the tone of the series for the anime.

Two things are certain. The My Hero Academia manga and anime successfully adapted the superhero formula from Western comics and created a truly brilliant Japanese superhero work. In the West, The Boys comic book and series successfully inverted the superhero genre and created a brilliant series that showed us the dark side of superheroism. Now, it seems that we have also gotten an anime answer to The Boys, as the Go! Go! Loser Ranger! anime is slowly becoming a hit of the Spring 2024 anime season.
The series premiered on April 7, 2024, and can be seen on Disney+ and Hulu in the West. Go! Go! Loser Ranger! is not as violent as The Boys, but it brings us an interesting story and we think that it is definitely worth your time.

Jujutsu Kaisen has reached the peak of popularity, and there are hardly any anime that come close to it. It is going through a crucial phase, with the King of Curses becoming more potent. Multiple Jujutsu sorcerers have come and gone, but none were strong enough to end Ryomen Sukuna’s terror. The fans are hoping to see Yuji Itadori get a power-up soon.
Jujutsu Kaisen has often made headlines with positive as well as negative reasons. While the positive reasons are mainly related to the anime and manga, the negative reasons are caused by the mangaka. But recently, several people have been lashing out at the anime after they swept away the awards at the 2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards.

The anime fans were eagerly waiting for the 2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards result. Anime like Jujutsju Kaisen, Attack on Titan, Oshi no Ko, etc., dominated the award ceremony with multiple award wins. Jujutsu Kaisen won the most, with eleven awards. Chainsaw Man season one had a few nominations, but it could not perform as the fans had hoped. Denji and Pochita’s friendship was not strong enough.
But there was a certain category that the fans had hoped for a different result. During the award ceremony, Jujutsu Kaisen won the Best Opening Sequence award. Even though fans voted it to be the best, many believe that it would have been given to Chainsaw Man. Chainsaw Man’s opening theme broke a record that even One Piece failed to achieve.

Chainsaw Man season one had mixed reviews, but the opening theme was liked by all.

Jjk Season 2 episode 21 featured an additional scene, in which Todo is seen in a girl’s uniform alongside his favorite idol Takada. This sequence actually plays out in Todo’s head while he is fighting Mahito.
While Todo’s cross-dressing part was well received in Japan, it received backlash from Arab fans, who cited that cross-dressing was a sin in Islamic religion.
In the wake of this backlash, Jjk Season 2 animator Shota Shigetsugu, who was criticized for giving the idea for Todo’s cross-dressing scene, apologized to fans via X (formerly Twitter).
In his now deleted post, Shigetsugu wrote “I had wondered why so much criticism came from the Islamic world, when it was so well received in Japan, but I was convinced when I learned that cross-dressing is a sin in religion and therefore there is a strong sense of rejection of such things.
