Sung Kang, who is best known for playing the fan favorite role of Han in the Fast and Furious franchise, has made his feature directorial debut with the ’90s-set creature feature Shaky Shivers, which landed a North American distribution deal with Cinedigm. They teamed up with Fathom Events to bring the movie to theatres for one night last month, and now it has been announced (via our friends at Bloody Disgusting) that Shaky Shivers will be receiving a digital release on October 17th. The digital version can be pre-ordered on Amazon. The movie will also be streaming on the Screambox service.
Shot over the course of five weeks at a closed down girl scout camp back in 2020, Shaky Shivers takes viewers on a hilarious and nostalgic journey to an abandoned camp where two young women, played by Brooke Markham (In the Dark) and VyVy Nguyen (The Sympathizer), stumble upon a book of magical spells.

Plot: Fearing a witch’s curse is going to make her turn into a werewolf, Lucy heads to an abandoned camp with her friend Karen to wait out the full moon. But lycanthropy may be the least of their problems.
Review: The horror comedy Shaky Shivers takes its title from a cold, sweet concoction created by ice cream shop worker Karen (VyVy Nguyen), but we never actually learn what ingredients she has put into this treat. The movie itself is quite a blend of sub-genres, featuring lycanthropy, zombies, a witch, cultists, a Trapper Keeper Necronomicon, a Bigfoot enthusiast… and maybe even an appearance by Bigfoot itself.
Karen works at the aforementioned ice cream shop with her pal Lucy (Brooke Markham), and when a witchy woodsy woman called Mama Nature (played by Erin Daniels of Rob Zombie’s House of 1000 Corpses) comes in after closing time, wielding an odd puppet and asking for food,...

"What if you had sex with a wolf?" Cineverse + Fathom Events are hosting a one-night-only special event screening of this indie horror film on September 21st – this week. Shaky Shivers is the feature directorial debut of Korean-American actor Sung Kang – best known for playing Han in the Fast & Furious movies (with a recent appearance in Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi series). Two young women find themselves at an abandoned camp in the woods with a book of magical spells surrounded by classic monsters in this comedic send up of 1980s horror films. It's another new werewolf film to enjoy this spooky season, paying homage to the many horror classics from the 80s. Starring Brooke Markham, VyVy Nguyen, Jimmy Bellinger, Herschel Sparber, Skyler Day, & Erin Daniels. Looks like an amusing buddy comedy mashed up with every funky 80s horror idea they could think of. Might be fun? Or might be dumb.

At what point must we hold art accountable for whatever dangerous ideas or actions it may incite? It's a question that's plagued artists and consumers of art since time immemorial -- and "Law & Order: Svu" tackled it head-on on Wednesday (Feb. 26).
In the episode, titled "Comic Perversion," "Svu" did that "ripped from the headlines" thing they do so well, taking on the 2012 controversy surrounding comedian Daniel Tosh and his ill-advised rape jokes -- making clear where the show and its writers stand on the debate that's troubled the comedy world ever since.
Standing in for Tosh in the "Svu" world is Josh Galloway (played to the sleazy hilt by Jonathan Silverman), a hack frat comedian who we meet during his set at Tsu. As the drunk bros in the crowd eat up his every misogynistic word, Renee (Skyler Day, a familiar face from last season's "Girl Dishonored" episode) and others from her S.

Back in April, Dolphin Entertainment and Mattel announced that a live-action, feature-length film based on Mattel's Max Steel property was back in the works after the previous attempt (apparently with Twilight actor Taylor Lautner attached) went belly up. We know that Christopher Yost wrote the script and that Stewart Hendler will direct, but now The Tracking Board reckon the following actors are testing for the male and female lead roles. Noah Silver (The Borgias), Ben Winchell (Necessary Roughness) and Dylan Minnette (Prisoners, Lost) are testing to play Max. For the undisclosed female role there's Skyler Day (Parenthood, Ironside) and Skyler Samuels (The Nine Lives of Chloe King, The Gates). The story follows a teenager named Max, who gets imbued with an energy power called Turbo (Tachyon Unlimited Radiant Bio-Optimized) and is then partnered with Steel, a technological alien.

Will "Parenthood" be renewed for Season 5? At the NBC series' PaleyFest panel on March 7, creator Jason Katims told HuffPost TV that he feels "really optimistic" that the Braverman clan will return -- and judging by the packed auditorium at Los Angeles' Saban Theatre, the show's fans are as loyal and vocal as ever.
"Everybody at the network has been so positive about the show and I think that they are fans of the show themselves and they really, creatively, loved the direction it went this year, so that’s really good," Katims said on the Paley red carpet. "I also know that the ratings are not what anybody would dream for them to be, but they’re definitely moving in the right direction for us and for the network. We’re pretty happy there too. So I’m hopeful."

The nominees of last year’s 64th Primetime Emmy Awards were filled with critical darlings, obvious snubs and a few fresh faces.
While the freshman class of nominees didn’t make a huge splash — unless your name is Homeland (Showtime) or the one-shot Game Change (HBO) — it did show the Academy is willing to recognize some breakout talent.
The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards won’t air until Sept. 22 on CBS, and the nominations won’t be announced until July 18, but it’s not too soon to consider potential nominees.
This season’s TV has already offered up some amazing performances, and the competition for the prized golden statues is sure to be heated. Unfortunately, for series that aren’t as popular as other shows or air their seasons long before the voting period, great performances can get overlooked.

In the Season 3 finale of "Parenthood," Drew (Miles Heizer), a 17-year-old high school junior, had sex with his girlfriend Amy (Skyler Day) for the first time. They'd been dating for most of the season and had met each others' families. It's a coming-of-age story that's been portrayed in every form of media, through the ages. And, somewhat unsurprisingly... Bill O'Reilly finds it offensive.
In an "O'Reilly Factor" segment about the "coarsening of our culture," O'Reilly aired a clip from "Parenthood." But not before warning audience members to shield their delicate eyes.
"What we are about to show you is very explicit," O'Reilly warned, with a bold "Viewer Warning" sign behind him. He then showed the clip from the episode where the teens undress in Drew's bedroom. You see their feet, as their underwear drops, and then their faces, as they stand looking at each other. Positively scandalous.
"So the consequences were not shown?...

By now, it's no secret to "Parenthood" fans that Crosby (Dax Shepard) and Jasmine (Joy Bryant) are finally having their long-awaited wedding this week, but when we visited the set earlier this month and watched them shoot the wedding scenes, it was still a top-secret affair. You wouldn't have known it, though, from the casual vibe on set.
While some TV sets are ridden with anxiety, security, and spoiler police making sure you don't see anything remotely interesting, the "Parenthood" lot is a cozy, family affair. Savannah Paige Rae's older sister does cartwheels behind the camera with a friend while a crepe truck (compliments of the producers) feeds the cast and crew... and, okay, certain members of the press.
When Mae Whitman sits down for our interview, the comfortable-family-gathering feel continues as she drags on-screen little bro Miles Heizer along with her and proudly says, "This is my son,...

Season three of Parenthood has been all about new beginnings, but it was no more abundantly clear than last night, as Kristina gave birth to a baby girl named Nora with Crosby in the delivery room. Now's the time when things get more interesting, since a new baby will certainly have ramifications that affect the rest of the family as a whole and Nora was born to two tightly wound perfectionists that have barely been holding it together these days.
Now that Nora is in the picture, where do we go from here?

Miles Heizer isn't simply getting a promotion on Parenthood. He's getting a girlfriend!
Producer Jason Katims confirms to TV Line that Sarah's son, Drew, will be featured more than ever before on season three.
Skyler Day (CSI: Miami, Gigantic) will appear on "quite a few episodes" this fall, Katims says, adding that he hopes her role will grow into a "long arc." And how does she even come across Drew? The creator would only tease:
“The initial story of Drew meeting Amy has to do with Zeek helping him win her over."
