With lines from Rudyard Kipling’s Jungle Book, Fulton County District Attorney Adriane Love made opening arguments Monday in the racketeering and gang trial of Young Thug, whose legal name is Jeffery Williams, and other accused members of Ysl, 18 months after his arrest.
“Ysl operated as a pack,” she said, citing the law of the jungle from Kipling’s book. The words “are appropriate for where we are today. For 10 years and counting, the group calling itself Young Slime Life dominated the Cleveland Avenue community of Fulton County. They created...

The director of The Eternal Daughter and its star are old friends, in an ‘Og working relationship’. But the timing had to be right to make this gothic tale. ‘I got derailed by worries,’ she says
The nights are drawing in. There’s frost underfoot. You can see your breath in the air. It’s the time of year for a chilly tale of the unexpected. And according to none other than Martin Scorsese, director Joanna Hogg is at the perfect point in her career to direct such a film. “He was trying to encourage me to make a ghost story,” Hogg recalls. “He just thought maybe it’s a direction I could go in. So I said: ‘Well, you know, give me some ghost stories to read.’” Scorsese was as good as his word – his suggestions included Rudyard Kipling’s They, Casting the Runes and The Mezzotint by Mr James,...

As the series nears its final curtain call, Doom Patrol Season 4 Episode 11 examines and addresses the team's individual challenges while pulling some top-shelf time travel shenanigans.
The most satisfying element is Jane's reunion with the alt personas of the Underground and Kay. Jane's last session ever with Niles even connects a few dots that have been drifting in space since the first season.
The return of Timothy Dalton as Niles Caulder, aka The Chief, is the most obvious signpost that this truly is the end. His scenes throughout the team's Time Stream adventures provide a lot of closure. It's just too bad Dorothy couldn't have been part of that.
Predictably, looking for Immortus's longevity skin tag without having to contend with Immortus involves dealing with Niles in various phases of his life.
Cliff gets to tangle with the earliest version of The Chief, and it's a doozy of an encounter.

Frasier is a snob. It's a well established aspect of his character that made for some of the best jokes of the original sitcom's 11 seasons. But with the new "Frasier" revival series on Paramount+, something's changed.
Back when the show first debuted in 1993, Frasier's elitism was immediately played up as one of his major character flaws, and treated as a source of unending comedy. The clash of tastes between him and his blue collar retired cop father, Martin (John Mahoney), basically provided the central "sit" out of which the "com" arose.
There was also a heart to both the character and the show, which frequently became apparent as a result of the conflict between Frasier and his dad. For example, when the former threw out the latter's beloved recliner because it clashed with his apartment's more refined decor, Martin went on an extended monologue about why the chair meant so much to him,...

This visually exquisite, tender film about a boy growing up in a military air base on an former colony is a wonderful watch
Film-maker Robin Campillo has surrendered to the flow of memory and given us this wonderful, personal movie, created with tenderness, unsentimental artistry and visual flair, inspired by his own childhood growing up on a French army base in recently independent Madagascar in the early 1970s. It is the story of an imaginative little kid spying and eavesdropping on the private lives of grownups, which are a mystery to him and a mystery to the grownups, too. Red Island elides his own poignant growing pains with Madagascar’s emergence from the infantilised colonial state. It feels like a classic depiction of childhood on film.
Twelve years after its establishment as an independent republic in 1960, Madagascar still permits the presence of the French army to assist the national authorities.
