Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was in development hell for decades before it finally got made. In 1990, Jonathan Gems was hired to write a sequel that was going to be titled Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian. Burton considered having Daniel Waters rewrite that script, Pamela Norris did rewrite it, and Warner Bros. offered Kevin Smith the chance to do another rewrite. He turned it down. Seth Grahame-Smith was hired to write and produce a new version of a sequel in 2011. Mike Vukadinovich was brought on to rewrite his script in 2017.

Michael Keaton is back as the titular Ghost with the Most in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, director Tim Burton’s long-awaited sequel to his 1988 classic Beetlejuice (watch it Here). Winona Ryder is reprising the role of Lydia Deetz. Catherine O’Hara is back as Lydia’s stepmother Delia. After an amazing 36 years, Tim Burton’s 1988 hit film Beetlejuice is finally getting a sequel, as Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (unofficially known as Beetlejuice 2) is going to be released on September 6, 2024 in theaters around the world. A sequel to the beloved movie starring Michael Keaton as the titular hero of the movie has been in the works since the late 1980s, but the original sequel, Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian, was never made, and the idea was scrapped until the early 2010s when talks of a sequel reemerged. This came as a sort of shock, since so much time had passed, and in 2022, the sequel was finally confirmed, with both Burton and Keaton returning. Today, the first official teaser trailer was released.
Beetlejuice was a critical and commercial hit when it came out, spanning numerous derivative works, including an extremely popular animated series. The film starred Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis, Jeffrey Jones, Catherine O’Hara,...

Michael Keaton revealed he saw a cut of the Beetlejuice sequel, adding that he can “confidently say this thing is great.”
The actor reprised his role as Beetlejuice for the upcoming movie, nearly four decades after playing the character in the 1988 Tim Burton-directed movie. Burton also returned to direct Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
During a recent interview on SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show, Keaton described the sequel as “beautiful” visually as well as having surprisingly “emotional” parts in the storyline.
He said the movie “is beautiful, physically. The other one was so fun and exciting visually, it’s all that but really beautiful and interestingly emotional here and there. I wasn’t ready for that. It’s great.”
Keaton added, “It’s just so fun and I’ve seen it now. I’m going to see it again after a couple of little tweaks in the editing room, and I...
