Trafalgar Releasing has launched the global trailer for Ghost’s debut film ‘Rite Here Rite Now’.
Shot throughout Ghost’s two sold-out shows at Los Angeles’ hallowed Kia Forum, the movie fully immerses viewers in the technicolour melodrama of the vaunted live ritual that has helped to propel Sweden’s foremost theatrical rock export to Grammy-winning, chart-topping, arena-headlining status the world over.
The debut feature film combines live performance from the two-night finale of the band’s Re-imperatour U.S.A. 2023 with a narrative story that picks up plot threads from the band’s long-running Chapters series. The result is an utterly unique phantasmagorical blend: Flesh and bone renditions of favourites from all five of Ghost’s albums as well as the RIAA platinum-certified “Mary On A Cross” and more are interwoven with the silver screen debuts of a few faces familiar to the band’s legions of fans—all...

Ghost have released a teaser clip for an upcoming cinematic film.
The 30-second trailer was shared to Instagram and sees Papa Emeritus IV onstage, presumably twirling to bid farewell to an audience at the end of a performance. The clip is soundtracked by sweeping strings and has a startling one-frame jump cut to Sister Imperator before displaying the text: “Coming soon to cinemas worldwide.”
Little else has been revealed about the movie, though Ghost mastermind Tobias Forge did tell Metal Hammer that live footage shot during the band’s two September 2023 shows at The Forum in Inglewood, California, would be used in the upcoming film.
These shows were special in that audience members were not allowed to use phones or devices during the concert. Upon entering the venue, phones were stowed and then later returned to concertgoers upon the conclusion of the set.

A Missouri venue has issued an apology for enacting a policy that forced fans to remove face paint at a Ghost concert on Friday (August 11th).
Two days before the show at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in Maryland Heights, Missouri, the venue made a social media post informing fans that “face paint or masks covering the face” were “Not allowed while entering the venue or purchasing items at concessions” and “any face coverings must be removable upon request.”
Apparently, many concertgoers didn’t get catch wind of the policy — which is somewhat bizarre in-and-of itself, considering the widespread use of face coverings in recent years. Also, Ghost frontman Papa Emeritus IV (aka Tobias Forge) dons corpsepaint-like makeup, inspiring hardcore fans to often put on face paint themselves.
The venue’s relatively late announcement about the policy caused chaos and confusion at the gates, as concertgoers were told to remove their face paint and,...

Ghost have hit the road for a summer US tour, bringing fellow Swedes Amon Amarth along for the ride. The “Re-Imperator” officially kicked off with a packed show Wednesday night (August 2nd) at the Concord Pavilion in Concord, California.
Supporting their latest release, The Great Heathen Army, Amon Amarth got the ball rolling with a nine-song setlist that had the metalheads in the already full venue singing along. The band kicked off the set with “Raven’s Flight,” complete with a viking helmet drum riser, and two massive swordsman statues on either side of the stage. “Put Your Back into the Oar” was easily the crowd favorite of the set, as made obvious by the fans rowing along to the song. By the time the band wrapped up their brief set with “Twilight of the Thunder Guard,” the entire venue was primed for the headliners.

Ghost have unveiled their cover of Iron Maiden’s “Phantom of the Opera” from the upcoming Phantomime covers EP, arriving this Thursday (May 18th).
Papa Emeritus IV and his Nameless Ghouls do a faithful job covering their heavy metal forefathers on “Phantom of the Opera.” The original Maiden track hails from the British legends’ 1980 debut, featuring singer Paul Di’Anno. However, Ghost’s version harnesses the power and might of the 1985 Live After Death version featuring Bruce Dickinson.
Impressively, the guitar tracks are nearly transposed in accuracy, and Papa stays true to the song’s vocal arrangement while adding his signature melodic flourishes to the mix. For a band that has long wore its Nwobhm influences on its sleeve, the cover marks a consummatory moment in Ghost’s career. It also harkens back to Iron Maiden’s Book of Souls tour in 2016 and 2017, when they brought Ghost along as support.

Papa Emeritus IV and Swedish heavy metal act Ghost blasphemously celebrated Easter Sunday with a surprise cover of Genesis’ 1992 single “Jesus He Knows Me.”
Fitting for a song that spoofs televangelism, Ghost paired their rendition with an Alex Ross Perry-directed, age-restricted video featuring the duplicitous Father Jim DeFroque who — after delivering his sermon — goes on an all-night party binge complete with multiple drug runs, encounters with sex workers, and other frowned-upon activities.
“We wish to inform you that one person’s beauty is another’s blasphemy…,” Ghost said of the video.

Ghost have announced a new five-song covers EP titled Phantomime, featuring renditions of songs by Genesis, Iron Maiden, Tina Turner, Television, and The Stranglers. Just in time for Easter Sunday (April 9th), the Swedish metal band has unveiled its cover of Genesis’ “Jesus He Knows Me.”
Genesis’ original 1992 version of the song was a satirical look at televangelists, a subject matter right up Ghost’s alley. In addition to “Jesus He Knows Me,” the EP includes Papa Emeritus IV and company covering Television’s “See No Evil,” The Stranglers’ “Hanging Around,” Iron Maiden’s “Phantom of the Opera,” and Tina Turner’s “We Don’t Need Another Hero (Thunderdome).” The EP is due out on May 18th.
Accompanying the music video for “Jesus He Knows Me” is a half-hour radio call-in show titled “Jesus Talk” hosted by “Father Jim DeFroque.
Perhaps, Ghost will perform one or more of the covers...
