Zsuzsanna Rácz(I)
- Writer
Zsuzsa Rácz wanted to be a writer since her childhood. At the age of 19
she moved to Budapest where she started to work at the Hungarian Radio.
She left it in 2000. In this period of her life she had to wrestle with
several problems: she had cancer and her brother became dependent on
drugs. In an interview she mentioned, overcoming these problems gave
her a lot of strength and helped her to grow up. Then she worked as a
freelance journalist and was looking for a full-time job. She started
to write down her feelings and problems as a fictitious person's, Kata
Kéki's diary. A friend of her drew a publisher to her attention. The
novel Állítsátok meg Terézanyut! was out on the 4th of June, in 2002.
It was a tremendous success in Hungary, more than 120.000 copies of the
book were sold. Even in the year of publication it was planned to make
a film of the novel. The shooting of the novel started in the October
of 2003, then the movie was presented in the December of 2004. It also
had a great success, more than 100,000 people have seen it yet.
