But she checks into a fancy celebrity rehab center in Malibu, which she treats more like a stay at the Four Seasons rather than a place to confront her demons.

Hulu released a new Letterkenny Season 12 trailer the other day…
Who’s ready for one final round of cleverly verbose cold opens, behind-the-barn brawls, Canada gooses taking Canada deuces, spontaneous Industrial breakdancing, and Puppers poured right from the tap? Letterkenny is ending, and the Ontario-based gang plans to go out with a bang! The twelfth and final season of Letterkenny lands all at once on December 26, so you can binge the six-episode finale as you please.
Here’s the official synopsis for Letterkenny Season 12 courtesy of Hulu:
The residents of Letterkenny belong to one of three groups: the Hicks, the Skids, and the Hockey Players, who are constantly feuding over seemingly trivial matters that often end with someone getting their ass kicked. In Season 12, the small town contends with a comedy night at Modean’s, a country music hit, the Degens’ bad influence, a new nightclub, and an encore at the Ag Hall.

This article contains spoilers for Reservation Dogs season 3 episode 7.
Many of the reductive cliches surrounding Indian culture often revolve around spirits. Concepts like spirit guides, spirit quests, and spirit animals are often memetic touchstones for crunchy white Americans looking for a way to make a psychedelic mushroom trip on a Tuesday sound more profound than it really is.
One of the best aspects of Reservation Dogs, FX’s brilliant dramedy about an indigenous community in Oklahoma, is how it both reclaims and refines the pop cultural depiction of Native American spirits. There are several ghosts, apparitions, and wayward souls wandering around Rez Dogs version of the American West. Sometimes the show satirizes the notion of spirit guides – mostly through the use of Bear’s ethereal companion William Knifeman, who is supposed to be teaching the boy worthwhile lessons but who really just seems to want a young friend.

Zahn McClarnon has justifiably garnered attention in recent years for his lead performance as Joe Leaphorn in AMC’s limited series Dark Winds. Leaphorn, a lieutenant in the Tribal Police in the Navajo Nation of Arizona, is suddenly besieged by a series of seemingly unrelated crimes within his community. As he gets closer to the truth of these cases, his own beliefs are challenged, bonds between colleagues are tested, and Joe has to dig up some painful memories from his own past.
Yet before McClarnon donned Joe’s badge and cowboy hat, he wore many other hats over his nearly 45 year career. The actor has a fairly prolific filmography as a voice over artist, he has played men on both sides of the law, and as you can imagine, as an actor of Lakota descent, has played his share of First Nations characters. Yet, when his more recent roles are carefully considered,...

The History Channel‘s groundbreaking Canadian original documentary event, “True Story”, is returning for “Part Two” later this month.
The doc offers “a further look at the real and often misrepresented history of Indigenous peoples on the land that is now called Canada,” a press release confirms.
The two-hour feature — that also explores how to move forward from Canada’s colonial past and work towards reconciliation by first learning, then facing, the past — debuts on September 30 in honour of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
Lisa Godfrey, Senior Vice President of Original Content and Corus Studios, says, “The History® Channel is proud to provide a platform to amplify and extend the important Indigenous stories that ‘True Story’ has excelled at telling.
“In conjunction with our esteemed production partners at Eagle Vision, we’re pleased to present ‘True Story Part Two’, which will further educate and inform viewers about important issues surrounding truth and reconciliation.

“Reservation Dogs” might be ending this season, but the FX series is leaving everything on the field, both in terms of storytelling and technical ambition. Episode 3, “Deer Lady,” is a simple enough vehicle (pun only somewhat intended) for the recurring character played by Kaniehtiio Horn, who we’ve seen cruising the Oklahoma byways on the hunt for bad men. But Sterlin Harjo and his team take the opportunity to do more than provide an origin story for Deer Lady, her fabulously free hair, and the set of antlers she wields. It folds her into a piece of American history and uses a smart blend of sound and score to make us feel as disoriented and terrified as the girl (Georgeanne Growingthunder) who would become Deer Lady.
The show sets her beginning, seen in flashback, at an Native boarding school. It was written into Sterlin Harjo’s script that as soon as the native children,...

[This story contains spoilers to Reservation Dogs season three, episode three, “Deer Lady.”]
In the first season of Reservation Dogs, actress Kaniehtiio Horn made her debut as the mysterious Deer Lady in episode five, “Come and Get Your Love.” Now in its third and final season, Reservation Dogs reveals the dark origins of its hooved hitchhiker and, in the process, offers a look at the violent past of residential boarding schools in the U.S.
A first step in acknowledging their history, impact and legacy on a national level came in May 2022 when the U.S. Department of the Interior released the Federal Indian Boarding School Initiative Investigative Report. The 100-page study found that the government funded over 400 reservation schools across 37 states, at times paying missionary organizations “on a per capita basis” for the children they enrolled. Between 1819 and 1969, Native children from across the U.S., Hawaii and Alaska were targeted, enduring “rampant physical, sexual, and emotional abuse,...

In what may be one of the most powerful and stirring episodes of the entire run of FX’s “Reservation Dogs,” the series this week took on the horror of assimilation “Indian boarding schools” — and attempt by the government in the 19th and 20th centuries to erase Native culture from the country.
It’s another dark chapter that is well known by most people with Indigenous heritage, but something that most non-Natives have either never heard about, or only have a passing knowledge of it. For “Reservation Dogs” co-creator Sterlin Harjo, there was a responsibility to tell the story right.
“We have an opportunity to tell some truths, and that’s what the show has been about — telling the truth about who we are,” Harjo says. “I just wanted to make something that represented that experience, to show people what the reality was. To show people how it must have felt,...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Reservation Dogs Season 3 Episode 3 “Deer Lady.”] Reservation Dogs takes a dark turn in the latest installment, “Deer Lady,” which sees the origin story of the titular mythological figure, portrayed in the series by Kaniehtiio Horn. Punishing men who do wrong, she runs into Bear (D’Pharaoh Woon-a-Tai), who had been stranded after missing his bus in the premiere. Alarmed upon learning whom he’s crossed paths with, Deer Lady assures him that she’s not out to harm him and offers the young man a ride back to the reservation (after a few servings of diner pie), with a pit stop along the way. Her journey has a dark history, which unfolds in a series of flashbacks upon her arrival at one of the boarding schools responsible for stripping Indigenous youth of their language. In this case, it’s also considered a house of horrors as she and her fellow students...

Editor’s note: This post contains spoilers for “Reservation Dogs” Season 3, Episode 3: “Deer Lady.”
“Reservation Dogs” has always interwoven spirituality, drama, and humor. The latest episode of Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi’s FX comedy is one of the show’s best and most powerful yet, honing in on the trauma and folklore behind one character: Deer Lady (Kaniehtiio Horn). Season 3, Episode 3: “Deer Lady,” written by Harjo and directed by Danis Goulet brings Horn back as the eponymous spirit — this time with a chilling backstory.
Deer Lady might be a story above all, but this episode ties her into very real, terrifying events. Flashbacks to an unspecified time and place depict the horrors of Native boarding schools — a real American practice that was implemented for 150 years and ultimately took hundreds of lives. Children were ripped away from their parents and communities, forced to cut their hair and shed their tribal languages.

“Reservation Dogs” started with a farewell.
The revelatory FX comedy from Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi picked up in Season 1 with Elora Danan (Kawennáhere Devery Jacobs), Bear (D’Pharaoh Woon-a-Tai), Willie Jack (Paulina Alexis) and Cheese (Lane Factor) mourning their friend Daniel (Dalton Cramer), processing his suicide with petty theft and rebellion and a plan to run away from home. The show’s third and final season, premiering today, finds the res dogs cautiously forging their own paths — no longer afraid of losing each other and Daniel’s memory the way they were before visiting California. The four episodes screened for critics honor the show’s off-kilter humor and striking poignance, setting up a final farewell that will be equally bittersweet and triumphant.

Early in the third and final season of FX/Hulu’s Reservation Dogs, Bear (D’Pharaoh Woon-a-Tai) finds himself peering up at a glittering night sky with Maximus (Graham Greene), the conspiracy theorist who’s temporarily taken him under his wing. “In order to observe the universe, you must put your back to the future and fix your eyes on the past,” Maximus advises him. “Celestial events that occurred long ago, we still see remnants of them. The universe knows. It always knows. We are just echoes of the things that came before.”
And though Maximus is a noted kook who spends his time growing eggplants in perpetual anticipation of alien visitors, his words in that moment ring true. Reservation Dogs has always been concerned with how histories, both personal and cultural, reverberate into the present and eventually the future. Its very premiere centered on the death a year earlier of the gang’s friend Daniel,...

Writer and creator Sterlin Harjo promised that the Season 3 finale of “Reservation Dogs” would serve as the perfect ending to the FX series on Hulu. It’s a bold claim in a culture that often sees fans ripping finales and their writers apart. But if the first few episodes of Season 3 are any indication, it’s more than likely our beloved Rez Dogs will get as close to perfect as possible.
From the first four episodes of the final season available for review, it’s clear the writers know exactly what the viewers want: Surreal spirits and quirky side characters guiding and challenging the young crew. Storytelling that manages to weave together the silly and absurd with some of the harsh realities Native populations have had to face over generations (the atrocities and aftermath of Indian boarding schools get called out on more than one occasion this season). [This interview was conducted prior to the SAG-AFTRA strike authorization.] FX‘s powerful comedy Reservation Dogs is poised to kick off its final season on Hulu on Wednesday, August 2, and star Zahn McClarnon has reflected ahead of the premiere. “It’s a wonderful show to be a part of,” the actor told TV Insider. For those less familiar with the half-hour series from co-creators Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi, Reservation Dogs follows a group of young adults living on an Oklahoma-based reservation and who have been trying to find their way in the wake of their friend’s untimely death. (Credit: Ryan RedCorn/FX) McClarnon plays reservation cop Big, who has gotten into his fair share of shenanigans ranging from a Deer Lady (Kaniehtiio Horn) run-in to a hilarious and memorable acid trip in the woods. It’s a far cry from his more serious leading role in AMC‘s Dark Winds, which recently returned for its...

The Rez Dogs return home for a final confrontation of the soul. FX released the official Reservation Dogs Season 3 trailer on Thursday, teasing the last season of the hit show created by Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi. The series focuses on Elora Danan (Devery Jacobs), Bear Smallhill (D’Pharaoh Woon-a-Tai), Willie Jack (Paulina Alexis), and Cheese (Lane Factor), four Indigenous teens in rural Oklahoma looking for purpose and opportunity in a world that’s often against them.
After spending two seasons gathering funds to travel to California in honor of their dead friend, Daniel (Dalton Cramer), the crew accomplished their mission but needed clarification about their next steps. In the Reservation Dogs Season 3, the foursome returns home. Well, except for Bear, who breaks from the group to embark on a soul-searching journey alongside the spirit of a long-passed warrior (Dallas Goldtooth) and a conspiracy theorist named Maximus (Graham Greene). FX has released its first look at the final season of “Reservation Dogs.” Season 3’s trailer may mark the end of an era for Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi’s dry comedy, but based on the video, this last season also marks the start of something new for its central characters.
Since its premiere in 2021, “Reservation Dogs” has always been about the liminal space between childhood and adulthood. The series started with Bear (D’Pharaoh Woon-a-Tai) forgoing his friends’ plan to ditch the reservation after his persistent Spirit (Dallas Goldtooth) persuaded him to improve his home rather than abandon it. This first trailer hints that the ending of that personal growth is right around the corner.
“The path to healing is often found in opportunities to help others,” Spirit cryptically tells Bear.
Last season ended with these friends stranded in California. Season 3 will pick up as they figure out a way back home.

The Rez Dogs are heading back home for their final hurrah. FX has released the official trailer for the third and final season of “Reservation Dogs,” the acclaimed FX on Hulu dramedy series.
Created by Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi, with Harjo serving as the series showrunner, “Reservation Dogs” focuses on four teenagers — Elora (Devery Jacobs), Bear (D’Pharaoh Woon-a-Tai), Cheese (Lane Factor), and Willie Jack (Paulina Alexis) — who were born and raised in a small Indigenous reservation in Oklahoma. The first two seasons of the show focused on the group’s quest to raise money to travel to California, a long-time dream of their dead friend, Daniel (Dalton Cramer). The Season 2 finale saw the crew finally succeed in their goal, making it to the beaches of Los Angeles and saying an emotional goodbye to Daniel.
Their move proves to be temporary, however, as the trailer for Season 3 opens with the foursome traveling back home.

March is sort of a weird, in-between period in the moviegoing calendar. With Oscars season thankfully behind us but the summer blockbuster season not quite in gear just yet, we're left with an odd mix of theatrical offerings: a handful of immensely successful franchise sequels, some notable bombs, and possibly some reason to hope. But don't let that fool you into thinking that there wasn't much else worth your time throughout the last few weeks. It just takes a little bit of digging to fully appreciate the hidden gems.

In "Alice, Darling," Academy Award-nominee Anna Kendrick ("Up in the Air") plays Alice, a woman dealing with a psychologically abusive boyfriend named Simon (Charlie Carrick). Things come to a head when she heads off on a secret vacation with her girlfriends (Kaniehtiio Horn and Wunmi Mosaku), who don't know about her relationship. As Alice slowly begins to fall apart free of Simon's manipulative efforts, her friends attempt to break through the walls she's built around her.
Then Simon shows up without warning.
It's a harrowing story and one that is all too familiar for so many people. Anna Kendrick is perhaps more well-known for her comedic and musical roles in films like "Pitch Perfect," "Into the Woods," and "Trolls," so this might seem like a bit of a departure. It certainly did to "Hot Ones" host Sean Evans who asked her about it when she appeared on the show. If...

Alice, Darling is a film directed by Mary Nighy and starring Anna Kendrick.
Anna Kendrick stars in this movie which is a great acting treat for any dramatic actress. She exhibits all her talent which is indisputable in this drama about abuse.
About the Movie Alice, Cariño (2022)
Fancy a drama about male abuse? Here you have one called “Alice, Darling”, a movie written by Alanna Francis which, thanks to a good screenplay, the goals of the movie are reached in an intelligent manner… that is also manipulative (as the plot reveals to us).
This is a story about psychological abuse that is well narrated and is also a “social denouncement” and you need to be prepared for this. A drama and a denouncement featuring three women who defend themselves and a friend.
Technically this has a very good screenplay that goes shaping and offering the keys to the story very...

The new film starring Anna Kendrick is one of the few visual narratives to deftly handle the insidious effects of an emotionally abusive relationship
If not guided by an ominous score and a remarkable lead performance of brittle, jittery anxiety, it might take you a third of Alice, Darling, a new film starring Anna Kendrick as a woman in an emotionally abusive relationship, to realize something is wrong. Alice’s relationship with Simon (Charlie Carrick), a thirtysomething Toronto-based artist with a suave British accent, could seem innocuous on a clue-by-clue basis. In isolation, a “thinking of me?” text with a kissing face emoji, or the way he drapes his arm over her like a cape, or his chiding to raise her professional ambitions, could seem like affection. The tell is in Alice’s frayed hair – barrel-curled into, as her friend Tess (Kaniehtiio Horn) puts it, an outdated Gossip Girl coif and,...

Alice (Anna Kendrick) doesn’t see herself as a victim of abuse. In fact, she insists she isn’t. Why then when Alice and her friends (played by Kaniehtiio Horn and Wunmi Mosaku) come across a poster for a missing girl presumed to have been killed by someone close to her, can she not shake off the spectral feeling of connection to this total stranger’s tragedy? After all, she says to her friends and herself, it’s not like her boyfriend (Charlie Carrick) “hurts me or anything”.
What Alice can’t yet see – and what forms the core revelation of the understated but poignant Alice, Darling – is that abuse is not always a single action. It lives and breathes within her relationship with Simon. It is the ever-present, sickly dread that resides in the pit of Alice’s stomach, which dictates that she must cater to Simon’s every...

Kendrick impresses as a woman being deprived of emotional oxygen by a toxic boyfriend, though Mary Nighy’s film gets distracted by a subplot
Anna Kendrick gives a vehement, self-aware lead performance in this Gaslight-style suspense drama about a young woman trapped in a coercive, abusive relationship from screenwriter Alanna Francis and debut feature director Mary Nighy. There are some edge-of-the-seat moments and interestingly subtle tonal inflexions, though the story spends time on a contrived subplot about a missing girl, time that might have been better devoted to developing the central thriller storyline.

Anna Kendrick isn’t letting anything stay up in the air when it comes to her personal life.
The Oscar-nominated actress and star of “Alice, Darling,” which she also executive produces, has been quite transparent about her emotional connection with the new drama, which spotlights a psychologically abusive romantic relationship. Kendrick plays the titular Alice, who untangles herself from toxic partner Simon (Charlie Carrick) while on a weekend trip away with her friends (Kaniehtiio Horn and Wunmi Mosaku). Mary Nighy (“Industry”) makes her directorial debut with the feature, which premiered at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival before hitting theaters this week.
Kendrick started the “Alice, Darling” press tour by detailing her own experience with emotional and psychological abuse by a former partner. The “Up in the Air” and “Pitch Perfect” alum credited “Alice, Darling” for helping her “normalize” the experience and act as a therapeutic way to process her grief and recovery.
