“Pari,” the story of an Iranian mother’s search for her missing son in Athens, directed by Siamak Etemadi, an Iranian who lives in Greece, won the top feature film prize at the Los Angeles Greek Film Festival, an annual showcase for Greek cinema that wrapped its fifteenth edition on May 30.
“Parontes,” under its English title “Being Present,” a penetrating look at the Covid-19 crisis in Greece (pictured above), directed by Yorgos Avgeropoulos, took home Lagff’s documentary honor.
The waning pandemic once again prevented Lagff from holding its traditional red carpet closing night and Orpheus Awards Gala, but it didn’t dampen the international enthusiasm for the virtual event, which reached a global audience via the internet and spotlighted features, shorts, documentaries and – for the first time this year – animation. It also presented a series of webinars as well as live and prerecorded Q&As.

That “Kids” tab on that you get before the welcome screen on your Netflix is about to get more use as they are adding six new series for your kids and some of us adults to watch.
Film success seems to be the contributing factor for some of these series as they are continuations from those films. But some of these are just great series and continuing them is kind of a no brainer.
DreamWorks Trolls: The Beat Goes On!
A 344-million-dollar profit at the box office will see Trolls continuing with a new series. With that if you’re expecting Justin Timberlake, Ana Kendrick, or anyone else returning from the movie think again. Skylar Astin (Pitch Perfect 1 and 2) and Amanda Leighton (This Is Us, The Fosters) will be filling the roles of Branch and Poppy with original songs written by Alana Da Fonseca (Pitch Perfect 3). Netflix and Dreamworks Animation have announced that they have a new slate of animated series projects in development that are set to launch next year. One of the most exciting projects that came with the announcement includes a revival of the classic 80s series She-Ra: Princess of Power!
I hope that the series turns out to be good. I think it's something that my girls are going to love. I'm sure most of you are familiar with She-Ra, but if not, she is also known as Princess Adora and is the twin sister of Prince Adam a.k.a. He-Man. She was kidnapped as a baby by the Horde's leader Hordak. She is eventually given the Sword of Protection, which parallels He-Man's Sword of Power, gaining the power to transform into She-Ra.
The series is being developed by showrunner Noelle Stevenson, who is the Eisner-winning co-creator of Lumberjanes. Here’s...

Cartoon Brew has an interesting article regarding the hiatus and possible end of Disney's Phineas and Ferb series.
According to the Animation Guild's blog, the series' artists have moved on to other projects or are looking for other work. The artists say that the show is wrapping up.
Phineas and Ferb creator Jeff “Swampy” Marsh denies that the show is over however and says that "we are taking our first hiatus since 2006 and making plans for what is to follow."
Whether the show is finished for good or not is unknown. What isn't being disputed is the fact that production has shut down and there's no set date for it to resume.
Though the show is on "indefinite hiatus," series writer and storyboard artist Aliki Theofilopoulos tweeted that "There are enough episodes and specials to fill...
