Joseph Edmund Newman is a native Chicagoan who was involved in the amateur theater scene of Chicago for most of the 1970s, the high point as King Henry in 'The Lion in Winter'. Unfortunately, the demands of work made it impossible to continue with his theater work. He retired to Atlanta in 2015, only to face 5 bouts of cancers from 2015-2018. He has been cancer free since mid-2108. With a renewed passion for the performing arts, he has been pursuing film work with acting lessons and background work on local productions. His imposing frame belies his vulnerability shown in his pale blue eyes. He is, additionally, a poet, writer and joke teller.
