Netflix dropped the soundtrack for its hit limited thriller series “Beef.”
The 10-episode miniseries, which debuted on Netflix April 6, carries a name that completely conveys its plot. “Beef” centers on two strangers — a failing contractor named Danny Cho (Steven Yeun), and an unsatisfied entrepreneur named Amy Lau (Ali Wong) — whose worlds literally collide after they get into a road rage incident. When things escalate, the feud brings out their innermost darkest sides.
The cast includes Wong, Yeun, Young Mazino, David Choe, Mia Serafino, Ashley Park, Justin H. Min, Joseph Lee and Andrew Santino.
The A24-produced thriller was created by Lee Sung Jin, and executive produced by Jake Schreier, Ravi Nandan and Alli Reich. Series leads Wong and Yeun also serve as executive producers.
“Beef’s” original Score is by Bobby Krlic, and the soundtrack includes songs by prominent artists Christina Aguilera, Hoobstank and even tracks from Yeun and some of the cast.

The premiere episode of Netflix’s Beef ends with a needle drop of Hoobastank’s “The Reason.” The track plays as Ali Wong’s Amy runs down the street after Steven Yeun’s Danny, who has just posed as a contractor to get inside her home and pay her back after the series’ inciting road rage incident.

The perfectly fitting song wasn’t so easy to get, requiring a personal email to the band from creator Lee Sung Jin.
“Dear Hoobastank,” Lee joked during Deadline’s Contenders Television panel, where he was joined by both Wong and Yeun. “I wrote a huge love letter just talking about how much I was into the band in college. They don’t let you use the original master, because they were all under horrible record deals.

Welcome to Emmy Experts Typing, a weekly column in which Gold Derby editors and Experts Joyce Eng and Christopher Rosen discuss the Emmy race — via Slack, of course. This week, as viewers consume Netflix’s “Beef,” we we go over the comedy races.
Christopher Rosen: Hello, Joyce! It’s Friday and I’m happy to ask and answer our first question: Where’s the “Beef”? On Netflix! This week, the streaming giant of a thousand shows and movies launched one of its better efforts in a bit: “Beef,” a dark comedy that’s not really funny but also funnier than many ostensible comedy shows — something we tried to inventory this week already with our voices. We’re both fans of this one, a character study of two broken people that feels like an episode of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” but make it “Weeds”? Whatever the comps, “Beef” feels like it could...

Steven Yeun and Ali Wong grill up some juicy Beef in Netflix’s latest dramedy after an incident on the road changes the lives of their characters in ways you can’t imagine. And what unravels in Netflix’s 10-episode series (all of which is now available to stream) is so funny, so dramatic and so tragic that it borders on absurdity in the best possible way.
In the premiere, we meet Danny Cho (Yeun) in the middle of a rough day. After failing to return some hibachi grills (for the third time apparently) and enduring massive judgment from a store clerk,...

If you’ve ever been in a crowded parking lot, you’ll surely recognize the inciting incident in Netflix’s Beef: A truck nearly backs into an SUV, which honks extravagantly before speeding off. Maybe you’ll even relate to the impulse to do what the cars do next, even if you’ve never done it yourself: The truck chases the SUV down with the reckless abandon of a Fast & Furious racer, skidding into oncoming traffic and barreling over suburban lawns.
But Amy (Ali Wong) and Danny (Steven Yeun), the dueling leads of Beef, take things further still. The encounter precipitates an endless cycle of revenge, during which they deface each other’s property, sabotage each other’s careers, undermine each other’s families. It’s a hilarious premise on its face, and the half-hours fly by as wild twists twists pile up. What’s less expected, however...

Days after Rihanna stunned audiences with her Super Bowl halftime show, Doug Robb of Hoobastank admitted the rock band once abandoned a feature from the megastar.
“True story. There is a version of a @Hoobastank song featuring @rihanna when she was a ‘newer’ artist,” lead singer Robb wrote in a tweet.
“Displaying a total lack of foresight, we didn’t use that version of the song for the album. We also didn’t think ‘The Reason’ was a single though either so… Oops,” he said, referencing the band’s biggest hit.
Robb included a clip from Rihanna’s halftime show in his tweet with the audio replaced by Hoobastank’s “Crawling in the Dark”, which contains the lyrics, “‘Cause I’m looking and I just can’t see what’s in front of me.”
The singer elaborated on how the band botched a feature from one of the biggest stars...

Everyone has made a decision or two in life that they’ve eventually come to regret and the members of Hoobastank are no exception.
On Feb. 14, the group behind such hits as “The Reason” and “Crawling in the Dark” tweeted a confession, revealing that Rihanna contributed vocals to a song on the band’s third album, but those vocals were never used.
Fun Fact: @rihanna was featured on a Hoobastank song on their 3rd Album. After hearing it, they decided to use the version Without Rihanna on it because……. well……..because……. they made a mistake. #hoobastank #oopsmistake #theyrenotperfectpeople #takeusbackrihanna pic.twitter.com/vbgutRWFVx

While the band didn’t reveal which song Rihanna sang on for that album, Every Man for Himself, the group noted that there were two versions of that particular song: one featuring Rihanna, and another without her.

To hear Hoobastank tell it, they once had an opportunity to release a version of “Inside of You” featuring Rihanna while she was still early in her career, but decided to use a recording without her contributions instead.

New York, a city responsible for bands such as The Velvet Underground, Blondie and Ramones, was a cultural wasteland by the late 90s and the wider music scene was pumping out shlock like Limp Bizkit and Hoobastank.
As Adam Green says in the opening scenes of Meet Me In The Bathroom, a documentary based on Lizzy Goodman’s oral history of nYc’s musical rebirth, “Maybe New York wasn’t the kind of city anymore that produces iconic bands”.
Then came The Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV on the Radio, LCD Soundsystem and many more over the next ten years, turning the Lower East Side and Brooklyn into hipster havens.
I remember the excitement when The Strokes, a gang of good-looking skinny boys with filthy hair and a filthier attitude, broke, in part thanks to the British music press, as I hustled for a copy of their Rough Trade debut...

Welcome to this week’s Aew Dark review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and only unfunny women think all women are funny. Have you ever seen Hilary Clinton tell a joke? Yeah, there’s your proof that not all women are funny. Also, Paul Sorvino isn’t funny. Let’s jump into…I’m not funny either, but I’ve killed two people with piano wire and you’re next…to enjoy this review of Aew Dark.
Match #1: Colt Cabana defeated Peter Avalon
My Opinion: 3 out of 5 – This was a nice goof-ball bout that was not too heavy on the dip-s— s—, but needed a little more of an edge to feel important. Like a Hoobastank concert, this was several minutes of “don’t play with yourself next to Bradshaw”, because he likes a man’s ass. Okay, come for the mat grappling and stay for the Aretha Franklin-brand Crispex.

Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Chadwick Boseman, upcoming fourth-timer Paul Rudd — seems like nearly every major “Avengers” star has hosted “Saturday Night Live” at some point. But whither Thanos? Yes, Josh Brolin, in his non-purple state, has hosted the show twice, but why shouldn’t the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most powerful supervillain get a chance to take over Studio 8H?
To dig into this question, editor and comedian Dominick Nero created a spec script for “Saturday Night Live” to address this issue — and also poke a little fun at the familiar rhythms of the long-running sketch series. Not every sketch is a winner (just like on regular “Saturday Night Live”) but it’s a fun read for anyone trying to avoid “Endgame” spoilers, one which invokes memories of classic viral specs like Billy Domineau’s “‘Seinfeld’ does 9/11” script.
what would it be like if Thanos hosted Saturday Night Live?...

In support of their imminent new album release, Hoobastank have launched an interesting feature where fans can put up their own version of "My Turn" music video. The song is the first single from the band's fourth studio album "For(N)Ever" which will be released on January 27.
An innovative and groundbreaking feature, the interactive video will allow viewers to control the on-screen action. "You'll have the option to create any version of it that you want," frontman Doug Robb explains. "You can have Chris sing while I play guitar in drag with an old lady on drums. And you can keep switching it up as the video goes along. Create an all Dan band. An all dog band. Whatever you want. The options are endless. It's very cool and I think that the fans are gonna have fun with it."
