When Donald Trump left his seat in the boardroom as the star of his long-running NBC reality series “The Apprentice” in 2015, in order to run for president of the United States, he had a clear successor in mind.
“I said, ‘The best person to hire would be Ivanka Trump,’” Donald Trump says. “I didn’t press it. But I felt Ivanka would have been by far the best person you could hire.”
Trump shares this revelation in a new book about his years as a reality star, “Apprentice in Wonderland: How Donald Trump and Mark Burnett Took America Through the Looking Glass,” written by Variety co-editor-in-chief Ramin Setoodeh. The book peels back the curtain on how Trump’s decade playing an all-knowing mogul on TV shaped his image as a politician, ultimately catapulting him to the White House.

Celebrity Apprentice on NBC is an occasionally intriguing and amusing show wherein celebrities battle each other ostensibly to raise money for charity, but often boils down to whose ego will triumph.
It’s also interesting what constitutes “celebrity,” and while there have certainly been legitimate and significant ones in the past and even on this edition, there appears to be difficulty rounding up enough for the full slate of sixteen.
Yes, of course, Gary Busey, José Canseco, Marlee Matlin, David Cassidy, Star Jones and Dionne Warwick certainly qualify, but do Lissa Rinna, NeNe Leakes and Richard Hatch rise to the same level? I think not. In particular, Hatch, whose sole claim to fame was winning the first Survivor over ten years ago and the ensuing infamy of tax evasion, which caused his incarceration and a host of continuing legal problems over the years.
But to the point...

The only thing that might remain the same about "American Idol" next year could be its name.
Well, it's not that drastic, but it does feel as though the hit reality show is remaking itself from top to bottom, replacing nearly its entire judging panel and giving the format an exhaustive makeover. Other reality shows have undergone their own transformations in recent years, though none have been as comprehensive as the one "Idol" just executed.
As we welcome Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler to the mix, let's review a few other noteworthy reality switcheroos.

Donald Trump has fired his Apprentice sidekick Carolyn Kepcher after she became too enamored with her fame from the show. Kepcher was relieved of her duties as general manager of Trump National Golf Club in Briarcliff, New York earlier this week. Sources tell People that Trump had been unhappy with her performance for some time. The source says, "This has been brewing for over a year. He has tried to get her on the phone, and she was either off giving a speech or was hard to reach." The real estate mogul reportedly felt that Kepcher was promoting her own career more than his golf course. The source adds, "She was supposed to be managing the golf course. She was supposed to be selling memberships. That's her job to sell memberships, and she just wasn't doing it. With the book, the speaking engagements and these endorsement deals, he's looking at that and thinking, 'She's supposed to be working for me. Yet, she is off creating her own empire.'" Trump's representative Jim Dowd's only comment on the firing was, "Mr Trump wishes her the best."...
