Daniel "Dan" Belanger, from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, is a graduate from the Theatre Arts program at Algonquin College from the class of 2008. Also, he obtained his 1st degree black belt in American Freestyle Karate in which he achieved in December 2004. He started training in karate when he was 12 years old and continues to train regularly. Dan started his acting career at age 18 when he performed karate on stage at International Food Festival (2005). The following year, he played the part of County Paris in the high school play Romeo and Juliet (2006). As a kid and teenager, has was very athletic as he played ice hockey, rugby, football, basketball, volleyball, and ran the 100 meter dash event for track field. Additionally, he has always had a keen interest in watching certain martial arts TV shows and movies.
Dan has been and continues to be highly active in weight lifting, fitness, and hiking since the age of 14. In particular, he has spent time in Los Angeles training in the martial arts as well as learning and obtaining professional experience in the field of fight choreography. He gained most of his skills from training with professional fight choreographer Calvert David Miles at Dragonfest 2023, in which he participated in a film combat class, as well as at his martial arts studio called Final Conflict Karate. For Dan's roles, he is often portrayed as a skilled martial artists, police officer, and skilled martial artist in certain film productions. In particular, he is well known for his role as Chris "1stDan" McIntyre in 1stDan: The Fighting Mind, Body, and Spirit (2022) and 1stDan: Fierce Ambush (2023). Specifically, the 1stDan film productions are a series of episodes that consist of martial arts action, mysteries to be solved, and exciting adventures for 1stDan to eliminate all forms of evil, and especially bullying.
Dan's hobbies include reading, studying languages, weight lifting, training in the martial arts, and hiking. In fact, Dan speaks 3 languages fluently which are English, French, and Japanese. He spent 4 and a half years in Japan teaching English and continued his karate training as well.
