The Swedish Film Institute has appointed former Sveriges Television exec Anna Croneman as its new CEO. She will take up her post in mid-April 2024.
Croneman originally trained as a producer at the Swedish Institute of Dramatic Art. At Sveriges Television, Croneman served as Head of Drama. She held the role since 2017. Some of her commissioning credits at the broadcaster include Caliphate, Thin Blue Line, and Blackwater. Before that, she was with Avanti Film, a production company that she co-founded. She also previously served as Vice Chair of the Sfi board and the Swedish Film&tv-Producers Association.

The Swedish Film Institute (Sfi) has appointed Svt executive Anna Croneman as its new CEO.
Croneman will start in the role in mid-April. She is a permanent replacement for temporary CEO Asa Sjoberg.
Sjoberg had been in the role since the departure of Anette Novak, who left the role abruptly in September 2023.

The Göteborg Film Festival’s 6th Nostradamus Report, titled “Relevance in a New Reality,” was presented at a seminar held at the festival on Friday afternoon. The yearly report is designed to forecast what the coming three-to-five years may look like for the screen industries.
This year’s Nostradamus is in five chapters in which industry experts are quoted and conclusions are drawn by the report’s authors. The actress/comedian/writer has launched a Swedish production company called Syskon, with the company's first show starring her brother Greg Poehler, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Titled "Welcome to Sweden," the series will air on Sweden's TV4 network, marking its first half-hour, English language comedy. Greg will play a New York accountant named Bruce who falls in love with a Swedish girl named Emma (Josephine Bornebusch). Lena Olin will play Emma's mother Viveka, and Illeana Douglas and Patrick Duffy will appear as Bruce's parents. Amy will also guest star on the series.
