We all know that the Assassin's Creed movie will feature an all-new original story with new assassins. However, a recent report has revealed that a few familiar faces from the games will be in the movies as well. Learn more after the jump!
For Entertainment Weekly's Fall Movie Preview, they took a closer look at the upcoming Ubisoft adaptation of Assassin's Creed by interviewing the weapons designer Tim Wildgoose. During the interview, Wildgoose revealed that a few assassins from the games will be featured in the movie.
“Although we’re designing the weapons ourselves,” Wildgoose said, “there are certain things you have to stick to — the way the wrist blades work. In that sense, we were going the Ubisoft reference as a design guide. At the same time, there are assassins from the games in the film as well. In some case, we could directly copy the Ubisoft weapons onto their characters.

Fans of all things Assassin’s Creed can look forward to a few familiar faces popping up in Justin Kurzel’s live-action adaptation, according to weapons designer Tim Wildgoose.
Word comes by way of Entertainment Weekly, who have placed the spotlight on 20th Century Fox’s high-profile video game movie as part of the outlet’s ongoing fall preview – Fantastic Beasts, for instance, was given its time in the sun earlier today.
Working closely with the Powers That Be over at Ubisoft Motion Pictures, a new studio formed to oversee production on Assassin’s Creed, Splinter Cell and The Division, New Regency is angling the Michael Fassbender-fronted actioner as the start of a new franchise, and given the vast number of epochs that the AC franchise explores in the video game space, there’s plenty of juicy historical stories to mine.

While the Warcraft movie had some really promise, it was a film that didn't seem to click with domestic audiences too much. Yes, the film did pretty darn well overseas, but in North America, it didn't really succeed in prying audiences from their homes. Luckily for video game fans, there are plenty of other game-to-movie films on the way.
The highest profile one (and the one closest to its release) is Assassin's Creed, which stars Michael Fassbender and is set for release in December. If you've had a chance to check out the trailer for the film, you'll notice the imagery it shares with the video games is uncanny. The architecture is absolutely gorgeous, and with just a glance at the shots, it's hard not to see it as Assassin's Creed.
But the similarities aren't ending there, as revealed by production armorer Tim Wildgoose.

Entertainment Weekly has started rolling out segments from their upcoming Fall Movie Preview double-issue, and today, they've brought to us some fresh details and new photos from 20th Century Fox's upcoming big-screen adaptation of Ubisoft's popular video game series Assassin's Creed, which stars two-time Academy Award-nominee Michael Fassbender (X-Men: Apocalypse) as Callum Lynch and also as his assassin counterpart Aguilar. While speaking with the film's weapons master Tim Wildgoose (Edge Of Tomorrow) about designing Aguilar's arsenal, which was inspired by Islamic art and architecture, EW was able to learn that a few of the other weapons featured in the film will actually be utilized by the exact characters that used them in the video game series. “There’s basically a few assassins taken straight from the games, who we get to see in the films. We actually get to use some of the real game weapons in there.” He clarifies...
