Shavonne Burleigh was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma, but grew up in
Arlington, Texas. She studied dance for many years and received
scholarships to Debbie Allen Dance Institute and Interlochen Center for
the Arts. She has performed at Six Flags Over Texas, Universal Studios
Hollywood, and with The Metropolitan Classical Ballet. Shavonne has
also studied Cinemetography and Digital Editing at New York Film
Academy.
Shavonne is elated to announce that in 2008 she was accepted to the
prestigious Yale Universtiy in New Haven, Connecticut.
She has recently decided to return to her love of ballet and has
accepted a position at Interlochen Center for the Performing Arts
begging June 2008.
Shavonne is featured in the permanent film logo for Our Stories Films
Production Company. Our Stories Films first feature is Who's Your
Caddy, due to be released in July 2007.
Shavonne was nominated for a Stony Award for Best Youth Actress in a minor supporting role for "Mircale on 34th Street" in 1999.
Shavonne is the niece of world renowned composers Glenn Edward Burleigh and Harry Thatcher Burleigh.
