The two first clashed in 2015 when Usman beat Edwards by unanimous decision. Then, at last year’s UFC 278, Edwards made a spectacular comeback by knocking out Usman securing the title. Today, Usman hopes to retake the belt and settle the fighters’ longstanding rivalry.

Get ready for ridiculous heisting. Having had a whole lot of success with The Hangover, scribes Jon Lucas and Scott Moore have turned their attention to bank heists, and Variety reports that Tim Blake Nelson will co-star in the Flypaper caper with Rob Minkoff (Stuart Little, The Haunted Mansion) directing. Word first hit during Cannes, when Patrick Dempsey signed on to produce and star in the film. It's the story of two teams of robbers who try to rob a bank at the same time, and don't have to fight each other, but rather a "secret enemy" (Dempsey) who wants to save the bank teller he loves. Nelson will play a dude called "Peanut Butter" who is part of a stupid robber team who plan to use "way too much" C4 to crack the bank Atm. There's no word, yet, on who's on the other team, and what woman will...

New York -- "Digital is good for media," if managed well, Time Warner chairman and CEO Jeff Bewkes said here Thursday in opening the conglomerates' first investor day in years.
Speaking at the Time Warner Center in midtown Manhattan, he also argued that the piracy threat in the film business "seems to be stabilized" thanks to global regulatory progress and new and attractive content offers. "It's a very different outlook than a few years ago," he concluded.
Overall, Tw's businesses are not hurting badly from piracy, he assured Wall Street folks. "Film and TV and magazines aren't the music business," Bewkes told a crowded conference room full of investors and analysts.
The CEO once again reiterated that Tw wants to marry creative and financial success by being "the leading global content company," while also delivering "superior" returns to stockholders.

Chicago – We told you a few weeks ago that “Heroes,” “Parks and Recreation,” and “Southland” had been renewed by NBC but the peacock network made it official today and made the call on the bubble shows, renewing “Chuck” and “Law & Order” and pulling the trigger on “Medium” and “My Name is Earl” although there are rumors of both shows being eyed by other networks.
With “The Jay Leno Show” taking up five nights of the week, there were very few spots on the fall schedule, but NBC was more creative than some expected with their programming, refusing to play it safe and knowing that they need a radical shake-up.
Photo credit: Mitchell Haaseth/NBC They’ll get that shake-up as only Tuesday and Sunday will remain unchanged in the fall (except, of course, for Leno). “The Biggest Loser” returns on Tuesday nights for two hours and football dominates Sunday nights.

In addition to cancelling Life earlier today (not that I'm bitter), NBC revealed the six new series it has picked up for the 2009-2010 season.
First, the bad news: I've read through the descriptions and casting sides for all of the shows except Trauma, and despite the fact that they are all ensembles with more characters than you can keep track of, all the leads are straight, as far as I can tell (with the possibility that Guillermo Diaz's character on Mercy). If anyone in the industry knows otherwise, please send me a tip!
The only one of the series created by a woman is Mercy (the one about female nurses, naturally).
So basically, it's business as usual on primetime broadcast TV.
The good news? We'll be getting Maura Tierney (Parenthood), Carly Pope (Day One), and Michelle Trachtenberg (Mercy) on the regular, and some racial diversity among the casts (not a lot,...

NBC has been struggling of late to find its identity as an entertainment programming network. With so many of television's best shows now appearing on cable channels (some of which are admittedly owned by parent NBC/Universal), the major networks have faced an increasing challenge to develop intriguing dramatic television, also facing as they do increased competition from video games, Internet downloads and other forms of entertainment.
But it's been hardest on NBC, which went through a serious staffing shakeup last December, searching for new blood and fresh ideas.
Has it worked? It's still too early to tell. Perhaps the most intriguing new offering from NBC is Day One, a futuristic drama from Heroes writer-producer Jesse Alexander. The story chronicles the aftermath of a global event that devastates the world's infrastructures when a small band of survivors strive to rebuild society and unravel the mysteries of why the event took...

Two weeks ago, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) named CBS’ daytime soap opera As the World Turns Outstanding Daily Drama for their storyline centered on gay teens Luke Snyder and Noah Mayer. This was the second year in a row that Atwt won the award.
It was also the second year in a row that Tom O’Neil, who writes the Gold Derby blog for the Los Angeles Times, decried GLAAD’s bestowing the honor on the show; last year he also called on the media watchdog group to rescind the same award. This year he was joined by Nelson Branco of The Suds Report in condemning both GLAAD and As the World Turns.
Said O’Neil in a post titled “GLAAD continues to reward bias against gays”:
