In 2021, Bleach celebrated its 20th anniversary with a new art exhibition giving details about the series, its history, its progress over the years, and the overall success of Tite Kubo’s magnum opus. The art exhibition was opened on December 18, 2021, in Tokyo, Japan, and it was probably the biggest celebration of the Bleach franchise.

To honor the legacy of Kubo and his masterpiece, other prominent manga creators from the industry also came together and shared their own artwork featuring the characters and events from the Bleach manga series. This was their way of congratulating Kubo on completing 20 years and still going strong with the latest adaptation of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War.
While all the artworks from the manga creators had a lot of importance, the illustrations from Eiichiro Oda (One Piece) and Masashi Kishimoto (Naruto) held the most value, as all of them make up the “Big Three” of the anime industry,...

Slayer stunned fans earlier this year when they announced they’d be reuniting for three festival gigs this fall. Among those who were surprised was Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian, who says he messaged Slayer axeman Kerry King and told him, “Thanks for making me look like a liar.”
The timing of Slayer’s announcement was especially surprising considering that King had just unveiled details of his eponymous solo band, including a debut album, From Hell I Rise, set to arrive May 17th, and a summer tour supporting Mastodon and Lamb of God. Slayer’s reunion gigs will follow in the fall at Riot Fest, Louder Than Life, and Aftershock.

What began as a short-lived novel series by Jaki in 2019 quickly became a popular ongoing fantasy light novel series that debuted in 2020. Still written by Jaki and illustrated by fame, The Most Notorious “Talker” Runs the World’s Greatest Clan is a popular fantasy series that will finally receive its anime version later this year, as has been officially confirmed. The light novel series currently consists of four volumes, which is not much, but it will give the producers enough material to produce a proper anime season that will, as per the official information, be released in October 2024.
It is not that often that so much information is revealed at the time of an anime’s confirmation, but this is certainly a major scoop and we are happy to report that the anime is coming later this year and that we have several important information for you at this stage.

Among this viewer base, a prominent name is Johan Pilestedt, the CEO of Arrowhead Gaming and director of Helldivers 2. Despite his praise for the Fallout series, he does have a complaint about it.
Johan Pilestedt Just Has One Complaint Regarding the Fallout Series The Helldivers 2 director is absolutely loving the Fallout series.
Recently, Pilestedt shared his experience watching Fallout. Before coming to the complaint, he stated that he was “loving” this series. But his only problem with this series is that the characters in it are very bad at looting.

Developer The Astronauts have announced a new Early Access update for their dark fantasy shooter Witchfire in the Ghost Galleon Update. In addition to quality-of-life features, the update introduces “soul-style classes”, vault raids, weapons, and new Calamities.
Alongside the new features in the update, The Astronauts team has implemented careful redesigns of Witchfire‘s level progression and Calamity systems, based on Early Access feedback. Players will begin the game with souls-style classes, granting boosts to certain stats and unique gear. Those classes include Slayer, Berserker, Hunter, Shadow, Saint and Penitent, with Penitent giving Witchfire veterans an extra challenge.
A new feature, called Gnosis, will allow players to “over-level” (slightly) without a corresponding uptick in enemy difficulty. Gnosis is the understanding of dark magic. As this occult knowledge expands, players gain power and uncover hidden paths and events in the game. The update also adds a Calamity Meter on the Hud,...

Anime fans worldwide were eagerly waiting for the Crunchyroll Anime Awards to roll out. The voting line was stopped on January 27, 2024. There were several big names, including Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, One Piece, Oshi no Ko, etc. After the award ceremony went live, fans saw Jujutsu Kaisen sweep away almost all the awards with eleven wins.
Every alternate category had Jujutsu Kaisen as its winner. Even though the awards are given based on a voting system, there were a few results that the fans were not expecting. Few expected Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village arc to win the Best Animation Award. Several other candidates were favorites to win. Demon Slayer came out to be a shocker for them.

No one can play Buffy Summers, the girl chosen by fate to be a vampire Slayer, better than Sarah Michelle Gellar. She's not the only one who's tried though.
For starters, Gellar is actually the sophomore Slayer — Buffy was first played by Kristy Swanson in the original "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" movie from 1992 (that's been soundly displaced by the TV series in pop culture). For the TV series, Charisma Carpenter originally auditioned for Buffy, but ultimately played Queen Bee Cordelia Chase instead, the part that Gellar turned down. The whole point of Cordelia is that she's what Buffy was before she became the Slayer (an acerbic popular girl), so casting Gellar and Carpenter made sense. In another world, they could pull off each others' parts.
Carpenter wasn't the only runner-up to play Miss Summers. Back in 2001, when "Buffy" was still ongoing and sensation, Natasha Lyonne appeared on "The Howard Stern Show...

Kerry King just unveiled full details of his eponymous solo project, including the band lineup, the debut album, and the first single. At the same time, the guitarist also gave a brutally honest interview to Rolling Stone, declaring that fellow Slayer founder Dave Lombardo “is dead to me.”
When asked if he’s spoken with the drummer since Slayer fired him in 2013, King bluntly stated, “No. Lombardo is dead to me.” He went on to bring up the financial squabble that led to Lombardo’s sacking from the legendary thrash band.
“He went on that tirade when we were on a flight to Australia, and he knew we couldn’t retort for 14 hours, and he threw me under the bus,” said King. “I was the only one keeping him in the band. Tom [Araya] wanted him out before that, and [the late] Jeff [Hanneman] had just gotten the spider bite, so he wasn’t playing with us much.

Kerry King has announced his debut solo album, From Hell I Rise, arriving May 17th, along with the lead single “Idle Hands.” The guitarist has also unveiled the members of his post-Slayer band.
The official announcement comes years after King symbolically left his iconic chain onstage at the end of Slayer’s final concert in 2019 at The Forum in Los Angeles. At the time, King was quick to inform fans that he would be forming a new solo band to carry on the sound and ethos of Slayer — whose retirement King felt was “premature”.
“I knew early on that I wasn’t done,” remarked King in the press release for the album, “and I had no intention of not continuing to play.”

Slayer’s Tom Araya said one of The Beatles’ songs is “so Slayer” — and the crazy thing is he’s right! Araya noted The Beatles released a version of the same song on The White Album that sounds very different. He also revealed how The Beatles and another British Invasion impacted him.

"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" introduced a bevy of incredible characters, but not all of them got the same amount of love and attention. Some characters, like Spike (James Marsters), were supposed to be killed off instantly but stayed on the show because the audience would have rioted if he died. Others, like Dawn (Michelle Trachtenberg), were absolutely instrumental to the narrative but totally hated by the show's fans.
Not only did "Buffy" buffs despise the Slayer's younger sister, but the writers also had trouble effectively working her into the show. Dawn was memorably introduced in season 5 under mystical circumstances but, in the final two seasons, she was left to her own devices as a regular teenage girl. The character re-introduced the coming-of-age themes at the show's high school roots, but her lack of powers and combat experience also made her far less exciting than most of the other characters.

Slayer’s classic 1983 debut album, Show No Mercy, is set to receive a 40th anniversary edition vinyl reissue via Metal Blade.
The reissue arrives February 9th in two configurations. The first is a “deluxe-edition” style set featuring a slipcase that houses the LP on “Gold Black Dust” colored vinyl, a turntable slipmat, poster, replica show flyers, and a signing card. It retails for $64.99.
Alternatively, hardcore Slayer fans might be tempted by the extremely limited “Blood Filled” liquid vinyl variant. Limited to 250 copies worldwide, the LP itself is a wonder to behold, as it appears to be actually filled with blood. It would appear the vinyl required a costly production process, as this edition — which does not include the aforementioned ephemera in the standard “deluxe” version — will set you back $199.99 (though the record is sure to become a collectible).
Both copies feature a fresh remastering job by Patrick W. Engel, who...

Kerry King has teased what appears to be a 2024 reveal of his long-awaited post-Slayer project.
The guitarist kept things vague, sharing an image of his iconic chain, which he wore for years while performing with Slayer, resting on what looks to be the floor of a stage. The caption reads: “Coming in 2024…”
The image is a callback to the symbolic moment when King removed his chain before lifting it and letting it fall to the stage floor at the end of Slayer’s final concert in 2019 at The Forum in Los Angeles.
“One of the reasons I did the chain drop at the last show was so everybody in the building could hear it,” King later told Dean Guitars in a 2020 interview. “And it wasn’t something I planned. We were doing the last run, and I said, ‘I wanna do this on the last Forum show so people take it more seriously.

Despite an unceremonious split with Slayer toward the end of the band’s career, founding member Dave Lombardo still holds the iconic metal act in high regard. In fact, the legendary drummer insists that Slayer were the best of the “Big Four” thrash bands.
Slayer certainly have some stiff competition when it comes to the rest of the Big Four, namely Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax. But as Lombardo told Metal Hammer in a new interview, he feels Slayer were a cut above the rest.
When asked directly to name the best “Big Four” band, the drummer immediately responded, “Slayer.” And though he followed the answer with a little laugh, he went on to explain, “Who else could I pick?! We were brutal man, we were on top of our game, and if you watch the videos we were on fire. We really showed everyone else how it should be done...

"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" was once the most progressive show on television, so how is it possible that someone with a long history of mistreating women could create a long-standing feminist masterpiece? Series creator Joss Whedon was once at the top of the world of superhero fans and comic book nerds, many of whom fell in love with his beautiful blonde avatar, Buffy, a demon-fighting highschooler with superhuman strength and agility. The show's heroine was a uniquely powerful depiction of a ditzy Valley girl, turning the then-contemporary damsel-in-distress archetype on its head. But we've since learned that, behind the scenes, Whedon was doing everything he could to make the women of the show feel powerless.

"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" might have started out as a cult hit, but it's surely now reached the status of all-time-great TV show. The series lasted for a full seven seasons from 1997 to 2003 and while it has become complicated to love in the wake of startling accusations against showrunner and creator Joss Whedon, the show itself produced some of the best moments in TV history.
As it went on, "Buffy" dealt more and more with serious and weighty issues, making for some truly heartbreaking "Buffy" moments. By the time the fifth season rolled around, Whedon and co. were producing harrowing and affecting explorations of grief with such classics as "The Body," which opens with an unforgettable one-take sequence in which Buffy's mom dies. Joss Whedon still considers that episode the best thing he's ever done.

After the much-derided "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" movie debuted in 1992, creator Joss Whedon almost gave up on his original vision. The writer had conceived of "Buffy" as a way to subvert expectations by having the typically helpless blonde become the hero of her own story. Unfortunately, Whedon was beyond disappointed by the film, talking on record about how the project was taken away from him and turned into a campy comedy. In recent years, there's been renewed interest in the "Buffy" movie, which certainly differs in tone from the TV show that came to define the character in popular culture. But the movie did at least give us the first draft of Buffy Summers
After that first iteration hit theaters, Gail Berman of Sandollar Productions thought the subversive vampire slayer might make for a good TV show, and contacted Whedon thinking he'd be uninterested in revisiting "Buffy." But to her surprise,...

When you think of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," you probably think of the hit TV series that introduced an entire generation of '90s kids to the metaphor of high school being like a horror movie. But if you happened to come of age in the early '90s, you might well remember your first introduction to the character of The Slayer coming with 1992's "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" movie.
Written by Joss Whedon, who eventually became showrunner on the TV series, and directed by Fran Rubel Kuzui, the film starred Kristy Swanson as the titular slayer and was a decidedly lighthearted affair, especially in comparison to the show that succeeded it. Co-starring Luke Perry and featuring a surprisingly impressive cast that included Donald Sutherland, Rutger Hauer, Hilary Swank, and Paul Reubens, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" '92 debuted to unfavorable reviews and was sadly relegated to a footnote in "Buffy...

Musician Tim Cappello has a pretty fantastic bio on Wikipedia, the website describing that he’s “notable for his muscular physique, his sexually provocative movements during his performances and for his tendency to perform shirtless, with his skin oiled and hair in a ponytail.” Of course, Cappello is most known for his sexy sax solo in Joel Schumacher’s The Lost Boys back in 1987, which has gone on to become one of the most iconic aspects of the movie.
Here in 2023, Tim Cappello is back at it with a brand new sexy sax solo in the just-released music video for “Monster in Paradise,” the latest single from synthwave band Gunship!

Celebrated metal guitarist Kerry King, one of the lead guitarists and founding members of the legendary American thrash metal band Slayer spoke on the death anniversary of co-lead guitarist and co-founder of Slayer, guitarist Jeff Hanneman, who died at 49 due to liver failure on June 2, 2013.
In an interview with Metal Hammer, King opened up on the passing of his friend and former band member’s death and also shed some light on Hanneman’s place in the band during the days before his tragic passing. Battling alcoholism, Hanneman had missed several shows between 2011 and 2013.
This led to fellow guitarist and another legend of the thrash genere, Exodus member Gary Holt to fill up for him as a session member, before becoming full-time replacement for him after Hanneman’s passing.
Speaking of his final days, King said Hanneman was on the mend and “wanted nothing more than to come back” to Slayer.

Empire State Bastard, the recently formed extreme-metal group featuring members of Biffy Clyro and veteran drummer Dave Lombardo, have announced their debut album Rivers of Heresy.
The LP unveil follows the release of the trio’s fiery debut single “Harvest” and a freshly inked deal with Roadrunner Records. The group includes Biffy Clyro’s Simon Neil and Mike Vennart, alongside Lombardo and live bassist Naomi Macleod (Bitch Falcon).
As heard on “Harvest,” the band is far removed from Biffy Clyro and makes proper use of Lombardo’s virtuosity to create absurdly brutal music, inevitably reaching heavy metal’s furthest extreme: grindcore.
“I set about making the most fucking poisonous vile music I possibly could,” admitted Vennart in a press release, “just unabridged hatred in musical form.”
Added Neil, “Lyrically, it’s as misanthropic and nihilistic as I’ve ever written.”

After teasing a snippet of their debut single “Harvest” last week, Empire State Bastard have now unleashed the full track. The outfit features singer Simon Neil and touring guitarist Mike Vennart of the Scottish band Biffy Clyro, along with legendary thrash-metal drummer Dave Lombardo.
“Harvest” is a wonderfully chaotic track that ranges from extreme grindcore screams to Pixies-inspired spoken-word verses. It’s a helluva debut single, hopefully giving us a taste of what’s to come on a potential full-length album, with the band having inked a deal with Roadrunner Records.
With Biffy Clyro one of the most popular rock bands in the UK, Empire State Bastard have already sold out a run of upcoming shows in Glasgow (March 26th), Manchester (March 27th), and London (March 28th). They’re also set to play France’s massive Hellfest in June. Their touring lineup is rounded out by bassist Naomi Macleod (Bitch...

Before Cannibal Corpse guitarist Pat O’Brien suffered an apparent break from reality last week, he warned his relatives of “the rapture” and that “aliens have landed,” according to Tampa Bay Times. The death-metal mainstay, who has played with the band since 1997 and even once played in Slayer for a spell, was arrested last Monday for burglary and assaulting police as his home burnt down in Florida.

Cannibal Corpse guitarist Pat O’Brien was arrested Monday for burglary and assaulting a police officer after a fire broke out at his home in Florida, reports NBC’s West Palm Beach affiliate, Wptv.
O’Brien allegedly forced himself into a home Monday evening and pushed one of the two people in the house at the time. He then ran to the backyard, and when police officers arrived, O’Brien reportedly did not obey their orders and ran towards a deputy with a knife. O’Brien was subsequently taken down with taser and arrested.

Sarah Michelle Gellar spent seven years playing perhaps the world's most iconic vampire slayer: Buffy Summers. Buffy remains one of TV's most nuanced female characters and is still deeply beloved over two decades after the Joss Whedon series first hit the air. It's because of that fierce legacy that it was announced in July that a new Buffy is about to enter the fray via a reboot from Whedon and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Monica Owusu-Breen, but the news didn't sit well with a lot of fans. Fortunately, the new take on the supernatural series is getting support from two very important people - Gellar and costar David Boreanaz, who played Angel to her Buffy.
While speaking to People recently, Gellar said she thinks fans of the original shouldn't be so quick to judge the new version, which will see a black actress stepping into...

It’s hard to pinpoint who exactly invented the blast beat, the relentless, piston-like rhythm that defines grindcore, death metal and related underground styles. Napalm Death drummer Mick Harris apparently coined the term and executed the technique to primitive perfection on that band’s 1986 debut, Scum. But in a 2005 interview, Pete Sandoval, then the drummer for Tampa’s Morbid Angel, seemed perfectly comfortable taking credit for the practice. “I created something, which is the blast beat, ’86, ’87, nobody was doing it,” he said of his early days in the L.A.

Faith's downward spiral is about to begin on Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 3 Episode 14.
The rebellious Slayer slowly but surely turned over to the dark side after her traumatic encounter. If we had to pinpoint the start, her transformation started with the murder. And once she became the enemy, things really got interesting!
But, before that happened, we experienced the terrific friendship-focused hour between Buffy and Faith. Let's find out why by rewatching "Bad Girls."
With the exception of their introduction, Buffy and Faith got along pretty well before the betrayal.
Both of the Slayers developed an appreciation for each other. Buffy acted more of the seasoned veteran while Faith enjoyed the thrill of it all. They balanced each other with their polarizing grounded and spontaneous qualities.
Before everything went to hell, they had become friends. So, it made sense that a buddy-buddy attitude developed so quickly.

Brace yourselves, Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans. We've got a special Friday edition of the rewatch just for you. (And things are about to become intense from here on out.)
Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 2 Episode 13 was the beginning of the series's change in tone. Sure, there were dramatic and dark hours before "Surprise," but there's something at this moment that changed it all. It helped shaped the progression to become the show we all know and love.
Let's dig deeper and find out why in "Surprise."
I loved watching Buffy's prophetic dreams.
It's such an underrated part to the series. Many forget that it's an ability she has as a Slayer because it was slowly phased out; however, it makes such a difference when used. Some of her adventures were only solved because of the dreams.
The last we do see this ability appear is in Buffy the Vampire Slayer...

Although some of you may argue with me for saying so, I’ve personally enjoyed every live action version of The Punisher to date. Even though each of the three movies were of varying quality, I felt that each flick – and actor – brought something unique to the table. After all, Frank Castle is most certainly a complicated guy and there’s not enough that could be said about what makes him tick.
Fortunately for us, though, is that television’s capable of exploring the depth of characters in ways movies just don’t have the time for. Not only that, but we get to meet so many different heroes and villains that probably won’t ever be able to make their way to the big screen. Needless to say, Marvel’s Netflix initiative and The CW’s DC TV universe have consistently been proof positive of just that.
So, knowing how mature,...

The King Slayer has spoken, and he swears that Jon Snow is dead. Then he said it three more times when Jimmy Kimmel wouldn’t let up. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, the actor who plays Jamie Lannister, seems about as tired of getting that “Game of Thrones” question as Kit Harington himself must be. “Whenever I meet someone I just say, ‘Jon Snow is dead,'” Coster-Waldau told Kimmel Thursday. “Listen, he was stabbed 50 times in the heart,” he added. “He’s dead.” Also Read: 'Game of Thrones' New Teaser Hints at Fate of Jon Snow and Another Major Character's Death (Video) Later,...

Borderlands goes current gen with The Handsome Collection, and it's got a whole lot of content to offer...
We've suspected it for a while, and now 2K and Gearbox Software have confirmed that Borderlands is coming to current gen. Borderlands: The Handsome Collection will be full gathering together of Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-sequel (not the first game, sadly), both remastered for current gen, along with all of the Dlc available for the games, which is a massive amount of extra content, including highlights like Captain Scarlett and the Pirate's Booty, and Tiny Tina's Assault On Dragon Keep, just two of over 10 add-ons and challenge packs. This also includes upcoming season pass content for the Pre-Sequel.
Along with all of this comes a new, four-player split screen co-op mode, and the function to transfer your existing last gen save games to the new version.
If you're very lucky (and have...

Womp-womp! Can't imagine Skrillex will be showing up in this movie the way he cameo'd in "Wreck-it-Ralph," but the new trailer for "The Canyons" gets its dubstep on nevertheless.
Oh yeah. It also features Lindsay Lohan, porn star James Deen (clever!), plus some script assistance from world's wackiest Tweeter Bret Easton Ellis, no stranger to controversy thanks to "American Psycho" and "Less Than Zero" (which featured one of the best movie soundtracks ever - Slayer, LL Cool J, The Bangles, etc. - with absolutely zero womp-womp dubstep). "Less Than Zero" saw Robert Downey Jr. on his knees in front of another dude at the behest of coke dealer turned pimp James Spader.
"The Rules of Attraction," another Easton Ellis stamped flick, had onetime WB goodie-goodie Jessica Biel in lingerie, future "The Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder as bisexual lothario Paul Denton and even Dawson himself, James Van Der Beek.

Today is the eleventh anniversary of September 11. I lost several friends in New York City in the towers that day, and was living in Washington, D.C. at the time, and saw armored personnel carriers roll down the street. I don't care to live in fear of that day, or use it as a call to war, but today, I take a moment and remember the people I lost from my life that day.
Rod 2.0 has all the details about Andra Fuller on The L.A. Complex, and how he approached the role of a gay rapper. "When I accepted this role and what it entailed, my family and friends were like, 'Why do you want to play a gay dude?' They also wanted to know why every time a Black man is shown on TV as gay; he has to be on the down low. But they didn’t...
