The sidelines at the University of Colorado football games have resembled Grammy and Oscar week in L.A. since Deion Sanders, aka “Coach Prime,” took over as head football coach this season. A-listers from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to Lil Wayne, Rick Ross and Kawhi Leonard have shown up to see the Buffaloes run the field, and the star power is poised to continue as the team takes on UCLA at the already sold-out Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena on Saturday.

It’s the NBA Draft so nice ESPN is covering it thrice.
The 2018 edition of the annual selection process for the basketball league’s best incoming rookies will see three different teams of broadcasters from the Disney-owned sports empire covering the event, which will be telecast live Thursday evening from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
“The NBA Draft Presented by State Farm” will get the usual showcase on ESPN’s main stage, its premium channel. But for the first time ever, sister network ESPN2 will have an entirely separate squad covering the proceedings from a different angle.
To top that off, a third version will get into the game on Twitter, where “On the Clock” coverage will stream during the first round of picks.

Kelly Tripucka, Bernard King, Earl Monroe, and Al Trautwig. Photograph courtesy Rebecca Taylor/Msg Photos. For only the second time in the last decade, the New York Knicks have made the N.B.A. play-offs. This is a young team, built around three main players: Amar’e Stoudemire—who signed a $100 million deal over the summer—and Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups—both brought in this February, in a mid-season trade that essentially gutted the team two months before the end of the season. The Knicks are a work in progress, but New York City doesn’t care; the city is electric with play-off basketball. To celebrate the occasion, Msg Network, the Knicks’ broadcast channel, has lifted a page from the team’s playbook: Already equipped with one former Knicks legend on staff, Walt “Clyde” Frazier, who calls each game at courtside, the network has recruited two more Knicks greats to assist him.

While every club in town was offering Carmelo Anthony a champagne-soaked welcome bash this week, it was West Village eatery The Spotted Pig that netted the superstar and fellow new Knick Chauncey Billups Wednesday night with an intimate dinner for 40 hosted by teammate Amar'e Stoudemire. "It was a welcome from Amar'e to two guys who changed teams midseason, to make them feel at home," a source told us. Instead of the typically boozy baller-bash most New York nightlife impresarios had hoped to host, Stoudemire's gathering was low-key.

Has there ever been a more hotly-anticipated NBA trade deadline than this year's? In the midst of one of the greatest seasons in the history of the National Basketball Association (with as a dozen teams who could make a legitimate claim on the championship this year), there have already been a handful of blockbuster deals that have sent top-level superstars to new locales. So far, the centerpiece deal sent Carmelo Anthony (and a host of others, including point guard Chauncey Billups) to the New York Knicks, but there are still a number of deals that are happening or could happen before the door closes on all trade activity at 3 p.m. Eastern.

Over the course of the last few years, the New York Knicks have experienced an impressive turnaround. For most of this century, the team was a punchline, lead into total irrelevance by former general manager Isiah Thomas. But under new Gm Donnie Walsh, the team has taken years of terrible drafts, horrible free-agent pickups and atrocious contracts and spun it into a team that is much more of a contender, highlighted by the off-season addition of Amar'e Stoudemire. However, while this Knicks team seemed playoff-bound, they still aren't considered an elite squad like their fellow Eastern Conference denizens the Miami Heat, Orlando Magic or Boston Celtics. The team took one more step toward greatness on Monday (February 21) when they successfully executed a trade with the Denver Nuggets (and the Minnesota Timberwolves) to bring dynamic forward Carmelo Anthony to the team.
