Chantal Riviere
- Producer
"Chantal Riviere" was a pseudonym adopted by Chantal Van Melkebeke when
she was co-producer of the film "Tintin et le mystère de la Toison
d'Or".
Her father, Jacques Van Melkebeke, a painter, journalist and comic script writer, had served time in prison for working for a collaborationist Belgian newspaper during World War Two. He had once been a close friend and collaborator of Hergé, the creator of Tintin. Chantal adopted the pseudonym in order to avoid any embarrassment.
It was while at the beach that she spotted Jean-Pierre Talbot and got him the part of Tintin.
