Jason Sadler of marketing company I Wear Your Shirt might look merely like a chiseled dude who gets paid to wear T-shirts by various companies, but in reality, he's taking "a humanistic approach to talking about brands."
At our recent Innovation Uncensored event, he broke it down for us once again after winning an impromptu challenge issued to the crowd--the person who could get the most retweets for an #iu11-tagged message got to join Fast Company's Ellen McGirt on stage for a panel discussion.
Sadler's winning retweet? "Make awesome where awesome is not." Awesome.

The auto industry will spend $1.2 billion this year on social media advertising. With all that cash up for grabs, one might expect car makers to turn to Facebook and Twitter heavyweights Ashton Kutcher or Justin Bieber for their online marketing. But not Nissan. To launch its new line of Juke cars in the U.S., the Japanese auto company is entrusting its brand, in the words of one rep, to "virtual nobodies...two relatively unknown men with zero celebrity status."
The "virtual nobodies" are Jason Sadler and Evan White, the duo behind social media service I Wear Your Shirt, a marketing company that can be rented on a daily basis to promote brands on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. The pair will wear whatever apparel the sponsor chooses, acting as human billboards. As odd as that sounds, I Wear Your Shirt has attracted big names such as Doritos and Zappos, and...

Two years ago, Jason Sadler launched a new type of social media service: I Wear Your Shirt, a marketing company that lets businesses purchase days for him to wear their branded T-shirts. Known as the "human billboard," Sadler spends his hours in sponsored apparel promoting the firms using Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Ustream. Sound odd? Not to companies such as Gowalla and Zappos, which have helped Sadler earn big bucks. I Wear Your Shirt has sold all of its slots for the rest of 2010 and most of 2011--meaning if you want to get on Sadler's shirt, you'll have to wait in line for a couple of years.
We spoke with Sadler, a former marketing professional, to get his take on social media for our Influence Project.
Fast Company: How do you measure influence through social media?
Jason Sadler: Companies need to get over the standard question: How many eyeballs did you get?...

The nominees for the 2010 Streamys were announced today. The Streamys celebrate online television programming and this year they have a fantastic line up of nominees. Last year was the Streamys debut year and the winners included high profile shows such as Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog and the exceptional Battlestar Galactica web series The Face of the Enemy.
This year there is even more competition with some really interesting content now being released on the web rather than through more traditional media routes. Two of my favourites from this year’s nominee list are the excellent Interview Project which is presented by davidlynch.com and the slightly flawed but thoroughly enjoyable Angel of Death, created by Ed Brubaker and starring Zoe Bell, which also received a DVD release last year.
The awards ceremony takes place on April 11th 2010 and the full list of nominees is listed below with handy links...
