This article contains spoilers for Get Gotti.
Netflix’s Get Gotti puts the spotlight on a New York gangster icon, whose camera-ready presence signaled his downfall. The prosecutorial team sees John Gotti as an affront to decency. The capos, soldiers, and neighborhood acquaintances see only a larger-than-life street savior, with the balls and brains to make something of the communities he oversees.
The FBI and New York’s Organized Crime Task Force (Octf) couldn’t get their heads around it. Everyone on Carmine Street had no doubt the feds were itching to nail John Gott to a high-voltage crucifix so they could display him like a Christmas tree ornament. But the real sins committed are those against the organization Gotti headed. The Teflon Don broke more mafia edicts than federal crimes. Just when things were getting rolling with for the biopic about mob boss John Gotti -- John Travolta is on board, Lindsay Lohan is "in talks" -- director Nick Cassavetes is pulling out of the project.
A rep for Cassevetes tells The Wrap that a scheduling conflict is to blame, but the announcement comes soon after several victims and others have spoken out against the movie, concerned that it will glorify Gotti and the mafia.
"It's like putting salt in an open wound," Scott Favara, the son of John Favara, tells People. His father accidentally killed the mobster's son, Frankie Gotti, in a 1980 car accident.
Gotti "destroyed our family," adds Favara.

Legendary rock critic Dave Marsh once said of the Fab Faux, "All rock bands want to be like the Beatles; these guys have the nerve to Be the Beatles. Amazingly, they're so good at it you learn new things about the originals." And he's right. The band is quite literally a labor of love that was born years ago out of an elevator conversation between neighbors Jimmy Vivino (Music Director for Conan O'Brien) and Will Lee (bassist for Paul Shaffer's CBS Orchestra on the Late Show with David Letterman). The band encompasses Vivino and Lee as well as drummer/producer Rich Pagano, keyboardist/guitarist Jack Petruzzelli, and guitarist Frank Agnello. The five principals contribute vocals and scads of multi-instrumental chops, most ably augmented by the four-piece Hogshead Horns (which includes alums from the SNL band, Blues Brothers, and Blood Sweat & Tears)...
