It’s not even November 25th and already we’re looking for Easter Eggs. Then again time has no meaning in a Remembered Tardis, the enigmatic location for Tales of the Tardis. What is Tales of the Tardis? I’m glad you asked. There are no stupid questions here, despite the best efforts of the comments section (I’m joking. Probably). Tales of the Tardis (I should probably put that on my clipboard now) is a new series of Doctor Who stories, edited to omnibus length with no episode breaks and bookended by appearances from characters connected to the stories. We went into more detail about it here.

If Doctor Who fans ever felt hard done by during any of the show’s previous big anniversaries then the 60th is here to soothe spirits, hand out cherished gifts, and generally make a bloody big hair-ruffling fuss of the lot of us.
First came news of David Tennant and Catherine Tate’s return in three anniversary specials, then came the ‘roughly 8 million episodes of Doctor Who are coming to BBC iPlayer on November 1’ announcement, then they brought back Doctor Who Confidential under a different name, and now…
…three Classic era Doctors are returning alongside eight former Doctor Who Companions (plus The Sarah Jane Adventures’ Clyde Langer) for new series Tales of the Tardis.
New Scenes, Classic Who Cast
Not a behind-the-scenes documentary, and not standalone adventures, the six-part series will pair up the stars of classic Who acting in new scenes together, in character, wrapped around episodes from six existing serials.

Casualty actor Daniel Anthony will depart the soap in February, the show's executive producer has confirmed.
Daniel Anthony, who plays student nurse Jamie Collier, will exit in what executive producer Oliver Kent describes as a "sweet romantic story".
"Ramin, the gay Iranian asylum seeker who we saw earlier in the series, will return," Kent told Radio Times.
"There was a rather nice chemistry between the two of them and when we found out that Danny wanted to go, we thought we'd bring Ramin back. It's a rather nice story."
Daniel Anthony was tipped to leave the show after being left out of the latest cast photo.
Kent said that Anthony's decision to exit the soap inspired the team to introduce Lee Mead as Lofty.
Describing Lofty as "the most adorable character", Kent believes that he will prove as popular as Abs.

The Sarah Jane Adventures continues, with a new adventure that's become considered to be as good as a Doctor Who episode. An odd meteorological occurance leads Sarah Jane (Elisabeth Sladen) and her team into investigating a strange totem pole on display in a museum. While examining the exhibit, Clyde Langer (Daniel Anthony) gets cut by a splinter from the totem, causing an unnerving series of events.
Following his blood being spilt by the totem, Clyde's name becomes cursed... turning everyone around him to hate and despise him after the mention of his name. Disowned and kicked out from home, Langer finds himself on the streets alone, homeless, and without hope... until a homeless girl he had previously helped callled Ellie (Lily Loveless) enters his life, and helps him adjust to the street life. With the tragic death of actress Elisabeth Sladen last month, the BBC will not continue The Sarah Jane Adventures series which Sladen starred in as the title character. The network will air the last six episodes that Sladen had performed in. She was beloved for her portrayal of the character of Sarah Jane, a fan-fave companion of The Doctor’s in the Doctor Who series in 1973 that spun off into her own series in 2007 created by Russell T. Davies.
The BBC released this statement regarding the future of the show:
“Contrary to press reports today we can confirm that no new episodes of The Sarah Jane Adventures will be filmed following the tragic death of actress Elisabeth Sladen in April, 2011. As a tribute to Elisabeth the six episodes that were recorded with her last year will be broadcast on Cbbc at a date to be confirmed.”

If you're a Doctor Who fan, this last week has been a bit bittersweet for you. On the one hand, you've got the terrific new season (or series, if you'd like) that just premiered last night. But on the other hand, you've had to deal with the sudden, untimely death of Elisabeth Sladen, who played Sarah Jane Smith, the ne plus ultra of the Doctor's companions. And now Doctor Who players from past and present -- including Matt Smith, David Tennant, John Barrowman, Daniel Anthony, Anjli Mohindra, Tommy Knight, Katy Manning and Russell T. Davies -- reminisce together about Sladen and Sarah Jane in a short special that aired last night on the Cbbc. Check it out below.

Stalwart journalist Sarah Jane Smith (Elisabeth Sladen) and her trio of intrepid teenage sidekicks defend the Earth against hostile aliens galore, equipped with gumption, sonic lipstick, and a hidden extraterrestrial supercomputer called Mr. Smith. This spinoff from Doctor Who is squarely aimed at a younger audience, with much of the action carried by handsome and cool Clyde (Daniel Anthony), spunky but levelheaded Rani (Anjli Mohindra), and Sarah Jane's adopted son Luke (Tommy Knight), who's a genetically engineered genius. The six two-episode stories in the complete third season feature Sarah Jane becoming possessed by an alien prison escapee, red-eyed teens playing in an empty amusement park, paranormal investigators in a haunted house, the Mona Lisa come to life, and an invasive alien plant, as well as some aliens familiar to Whovians and a visit from the Doctor himself (in the form of the ever-energetic David Tennant). Many of the pleasures of...

Here are two more trailers for the upcoming Sarah Jane Adventures episode "Death of the Doctor". This series is aimed primarily at children, unlike its parent series, which is targeted at entire families. This particular episode will be noteworthy for a few reasons. It will feature former companion Sarah Jane Smith's first meeting with the new Eleventh Doctor, who will be written by former Doctor Who showrunner Russell T. Davies for the first time. Davies ran the show during the Ninth and Tenth Doctor years, so it will be interesting to see how he handles Matt Smith's character. It will also see the return of Jo Grant, a companion of the Third Doctor, as well as the Eleventh Doctor's first onscreen dealings with Unit.
And one significant plot point will be buried in this story: a throwaway line will establish that the Doctor will not be held to...

Filming commenced on the fourth series of The Sarah Jane Adventures last week, and today saw the production back at the Sarah Jane Smith residence on Bannerman Road, aka Clinton Road in Penarth.
The old team were here for filming, i.e. Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith, Tommy Knight as Luke, Daniel Anthony as Clyde, and Anjli Mohindra as Rani.
K9 was also spotted on location, which appears to be first confirmation that Sarah's long-time companion will be back in Series Four (he wasn't mentioned in the press release).
The scene being filmed appeared to involve Luke leaving home

It's only natural for a Time Lord to have an excellent sense of timing. In his new guise as a wedding crasher, The Doctor shows up in the nick of time to prevent not only his former companion Sarah Jane-Smith from matrimony, but the story itself from flatlining under a weight of superfluous (if often amusing) padding material. From then on, it's an absorbing tale full of twists that's bolstered by the emotional poignancy of the brilliant final scenes. After acquiring the services of David Tennant, The Sarah Jane Adventures could have fallen into the trap of establishing the central threat only for The Doctor to singlehandedly save the world while the regular cast look on as passive admirers. Quite wisely though, The Doctor was used more as a mentor to bring out the self-belief in the Bannerman Road youngsters, thus allowing Daniel Anthony to excel as the determined (more...
