New Line Cinema, launched by Bob Shaye in 1967 from his Greenwich Village apartment, has cut its final tie to New York. The company, which moved most of its operation to Hollywood in the 1990s, has let go the last of its Gotham-based staff. That was production vice president Merideth Finn, who was among the layoffs last month in the downsizing that was mandated by Warner Bros. She just sent out a farewell memo, as today was her last day. Even though Finn was the Last of the Mohicans as a Gotham-based New Line exec, it still marks the end of what was, for a long time, one of the preeminent New York companies.

In the second prominent movie about an aging cheerleader since Dubya, New Line have acquired the rights to the life story of one Laura Vikmanis who, at the age of 42 is by some distance the oldest cheerleader working in the NFL. Vikmanis took up cheerleading after her husband left her as a means to filling in her time. She witnessed the Cincinnati Bengals cheerleading team at a match with her sister and spent the following year training before...

Tonight while working on horror articles and watching the Sugar Bowl in the background I glanced up and noticed the third spot for The Rite playing during a commercial.
Even though I had the sound down and was jamming to some tunes, the preview seemed pretty cool...then I was distracted by the fact that my Christmas tree was still up (note to self; gotta take that down soon).
Anyway, I thought about checking out YouTube in order to see if I could track down the trailer, and then something magical happened; a post about the spot came across my Twitter feed and vuala, HorrorNews.net already uploaded the spot to their Daily Motion page.
