Terry Crews and Ryan Reynolds are raising awareness for an important cause.
Crews took part in a special PSA, with him reprising his role as President Camacho from the film “Idiocracy” to highlight what you can do to test for colon cancer.
Crews starred in the Colorectal Cancer Alliance Lead From Behind initiative clip, with him having a colonoscopy while in character.
Reynolds’ creative agency Maximum Effort teamed up with the non-profit organization, as well as Crews’ creative company, Super Serious, to reveal how important it is to get checked.
Crews said in a statement of getting back into character as President Camacho for the PSA, “I’ve partnered with the Colorectal Cancer Alliance and Lead From Behind because together we can prevent unnecessary suffering from The Preventable Cancer.
“The outrageous persona of President Camacho demands the attention this cause deserves. Reprising this role felt like the perfect way to...

Brooks Bell and the Colorectal Cancer Alliance (the Alliance) announced today the launch of ‘Lead From Behind’ with help from Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
Lead From Behind is a new initiative to raise awareness that colon cancer is The Preventable Cancer. Colon cancer is the second deadliest cancer in America, yet it can be prevented with a colonoscopy. What’s more, it’s rising in young people and is predicted to be the top cancer killer for people under 50 by 2030.
The best way to prevent it is by getting a colonoscopy – that thing almost no one wants to talk about, let alone do. Lead From Behind is here to change that. In 2021, thanks to guidelines that lowered the age of your first colonoscopy from 50 to 45, 20 Million more Americans are now eligible to get checked.

Sir Mix-a-Lot is marking the 30th anniversary of his No. 1 hit “Baby Got Back’ with some cheeky Nft fun to raise money for a serious cause.
The project, “Bit Butts,” will partner with developer Meta-x Studios to launch a collection of 6,666 unique, hand-drawn NFTs.. The depictions of digital derrières will be hand-sketched, hand-colored, and hand-assembled by animation artists. Sir Mix-a-Lot has personally designed the rarest NFTs in the collection.
A portion of each sale goes to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to ending the life-threatening disease. The percentage going to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance is still being negotiated, according to a Meta-x spokesman, but will be a percentage of the gross profits, not net .
“When the team at Meta-x showed me what they were doing, it was a no-brainer for me,” said Sir Mix-a-Lot. “And as an artist entering this new medium of NFTs, the idea...

The Colorectal Cancer Alliance has issued a plea for “open conversations” on the young-onset disease that claimed the life of Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman on Friday at age 43.
“The Colorectal Cancer Alliance mourns with Chadwick Boseman’s fans, friends, and family over the loss of this bright star to colon cancer,” said a message from Michael Sapienza, CEO of the Colorectal Cancer Alliance. “Somberly, we share that young-onset colorectal cancer is on the rise and cuts short thousands of lives every year.
“Colorectal cancer benefits from an intense stigma, particularly in the Black community. Cancer is a personal battle, and we respect Boseman’s choice to shield the public from his diagnosis. The Alliance, however, encourages open conversations about this disease. Even superheroes can develop colorectal cancer.
“Colorectal cancer is the second-deadliest cancer in the US when men and women are combined, and it disproportionately affects our black and brown communities.

Alexa here. As far as Marvel superhero gangs go, I find the Avengers more interesting than the X-Men (although this may just be my inner Whedon fangirl panting in anticipation). But mutants do have their outsider charm, and the 60s period mutants of X-Men: First Class are looking pretty slick (especially the "sullen, bosomy" January Jones). So in honor of mutant week, here is a collection of mutant goodies to satisfy your inner nerd.
Mike Sapienza is selling some sweet X-Men:First Class posters at his shop, in your choice of color.
