- Is the first Prime Minister to hold a House seat from British Columbia (Prime Minister John Turner did not hold a seat when he was Prime Minister and was swept from office during the election that won him his British Columbian seat).
- Led the Progressive Conservative Party to the worst electoral defeat in Candaian history during the 1993 federal election. The Progressive Conservatives went from being the governing party to being reduced to 2 seats in the House of Commons. Campbell lost her own seat in Vancouver.
