The South of Spain is getting its own dedicate post-production studio, Antípodas Film Lab, the first of its kind in the region. Based out of Seville, the state-of-the-art facilities are co-founded by a group of post-production experts made up of José M. G. Moyano, Juan Ventura Pecellín, José Manuel Rocha, Manuel Terceño, Amparo Martínez and Darío García García.
Although the studio is based in Spain and the bulk of their work is likely to be done on Spanish productions, their ambitions certainly seem to reach far beyond the Iberian Peninsula. In fact, Antípodas website is published in English, inviting companies from around the world to make use of the facilities and the staff working there and emphasizing connectivity, including an internal 100gbe/40gbe network and a dedicated fiber line.

Colombian singer-songwriter Camilo dominated the announcement of the 2021 Latin Grammy Awards nominations, garnering 10, including nods in all three top categories — album of the year (for “Mis Manos”), record of the year (for “Vida de Rico” and “Amen”) and song of the year (for “Vida de Rico” and “Dios Así Lo Quiso”).
Also faring well with multiple nods were Dominican artist Juan Luis Guerra with six, Spanish rapper C. Tangana with five and Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny with four.
Most of these top-nominated artists have enjoyed multiple trips to the podium in previous years— especially Guerra, a 20-time Latin Grammy winner. C. Tangana and Bad Bunny have won twice before. But with his staggering 10 nominations this year, Camilo comes into the ceremony only ever having won once before, for last year’s best pop song (his acceptance appearance is pictured above).
The 22nd annual show airs on Univision Nov. 18 live at 8 p.

“It gives me a moment to pause and reflect on the year through the books, movies, and music that I found most thought-provoking, inspiring, or just plain loved,” Obama wrote on social media. “It also gives me a chance to highlight talented authors, artists, and storytellers — some who are household names and others who you may not have heard of before.”

Feted in Europe for her smoky vocals and flamenco-soul fusions, this Spanish diva has yet to make an impact here, though her melodramatic theme tune for Pedro Almodóvar's The Skin I Live In will surely have turned ears her way. "Por El Amor de Amar" opens a two-cd selection of her output, most of it in a jazzy, nu-flamenco style created by guitarist/producer Javier Limón. The slinky "No Habra Nadie" and "En El Ultimo Trago", featuring Cuban pianist Chucho Valdes, are among the standouts, with cheesier tracks such as "Talk to Me" and "You Get Me", a duet with Seal, in support.
