- Book - "Godzilla! The Complete Guide to Moviedom's Mightiest Monster" (William Morrow, 1998) <br> This definitive book on the movie franchise was published overseas after a Hollywood-based Federal judge accepted Toho Pictures' remarkable argument that only Toho could publish books on the subject. The U.S. edition made legal history as evidently the first American book subjected to "prior restraint" (pre-publication censorship by the U.S. government) for reasons other than libel, plagiarism or obscenity. Publisher William Morrow, citing expense, did not appeal, and the case became national news through CNN, Bloomberg News, Entertainment Weekly, Salon and other outlets.
