British actor Henry Cavill has arrayed a wide range of roles in his screen career, but to the average moviegoer, he is probably best known as the most recent Superman in the four DC Comics films under the tutelage of Zack Synder. Despite his obvious physical strengths, Cavill’s performances in the dual roles of Clark Kent and the “Man of Steel” are considered by many to be more character-based than in other editions that reflects his priorities as an actor.
In fact, Cavill has taken on a number of other iconic characters in his career, from Sherlock Holmes in two “Enola Holmes” films, superspy Napoleon Solo in “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.” and even the mythological Theseus in “Immortals.” And while he usually portrays heroes, he’s not afraid of being a bad guy now and then, most notably as Tom Cruise’s nemesis in “Mission: Impossible – Fallout.”

“Watchmen” creator Alan Moore has spoken out again on the HBO adaptation of his 1980s graphic novel series.
Moore told GQ that, in a letter to him ahead of the production, the series creator admitted to “destroying” the original comic to bring it onscreen for the second time, following the 2009 Zack Synder film. Damon Lindelof was the showrunner for the HBO series.

“Yellowjackets” alum Ella Purnell has spent her career “trying to find the right balance” when it comes to her appearance onscreen.

In 2022, a new chapter in the Batman world begins as Robert Pattinson officially takes over the caped crusader. Ben Affleck’s Batman/Bruce Wayne will bow out of the DC universe in the upcoming Flash movie set for November 4, 2022. Ben Affleck’s version of the iconic superhero was introduced in Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Of course, we’ve got the tired Thomas and Martha’s death scene; however, a new element was introduced to the live-action lore of Batman as the caped crusader actually kills his victims in Zack Synder’s world. In 1978, legendary filmmaker George A. Romero released the instant classic, Dawn of the Dead. While not the first zombie first-ever made – that nod goes to Victor Halperin’s 1932 White Zombie – it surely sparked a genre that would see countless zombie movies following its release. In 2004, Zack Synder updated the 70’s classic that was met with critical praise due to its homage of the George A. Romero original while putting its own spin into the remake. Nearly two decades later, Synder would try his hand at another zombie flick, Army of the Dead, starring Dave Bautista (Guardians

Hollywood’s obsession with superhero reboots shows no sign of letting up. By this time next year, “The Batman” will have brought the origin story of the caped crusader to the screen for the umpteenth time. Now comes the news that revered scribe Ta-Nehisi Coates is taking a crack at a new “Superman” screenplay, with DC eying a Black actor to play the lead.
While there’s a lot of fun to be had with casting ideas (Yahya Abdul-Matteen II? Trevante Rhodes? Kofi Siriboe?), this early stage of the project invites a bigger question: What purpose does a Black Superman serve? The truth is that he could not come at a better moment — but only if the character’s modern potential is served.

Zack Snyder’s imminently-arriving “Snyder Cut” of 2017’s Justice League may be the dominant topic about the director, but his hiatus-breaking comeback with Netflix film Army of the Dead also draws near. Interestingly, while there’s still no release date for said film, it appears that its streaming giant platform is already planning to expand the zombie-battling franchise with a prequel movie and anime series. Yes, folks, an “ArmyoftheDeadverse” is nigh at Netflix.

The campaign by avid fans of DC to see Zack Synder’s cut of ‘Justice League’ has seen a big win, HBO Max has confirmed that the cut does actually exist and it will get its big debut on the new streaming service in 2021.
During a watch-a-long showing off the movie, the news hit that it will be getting a release and it could be a possibility that it will be a four-hour director’s cut or in six TV-style “chapters” with that having yet to be decided.
“It will be an entirely new thing, and, especially talking to those who have seen the released movie, a new experience apart from that movie… You probably saw one-fourth of what I did,” commented Synder.
The long wait for the long-called version will be down to Snyder reuniting with the post-production crew to score, cut and finish visual effects. It is also...

I’ve just got to get this out of the way now: the Snyder Cut of Justice League does not “exist,” for lack of a better term. It’s an unfinished, un-rendered, un-reshot piecemeal media slog that, in whatever nebulous form it does physically exist as, would be nigh unwatchable, not unlike the actual finished product audiences actually got more than two years ago now. However, to keep hype up for a piece of vaporware, the beleaguered director has posted some violent concept art on Vero, complete with misspelling.
As he’s wan to do, Snyder occasionally posts stuff stoking the flame under all the dumb #ReleaseTheSnyderCut purists out there. Today, he shared a piece of concept art, fully colored, that shows Wonder Woman beheading Steppenwolf, complete with blood spatter. The caption, as much as it is, says “Now your [sic] getting it,” as if his vision for the movie isn’t already all out there.

I’m way past the point of bashing Zack Synder. While I may be a cheeky lil’ bastard sometimes, I’m not cruel. Dude went through something I would never wish on anybody outside of our current governmental leadership. An unfortunate casualty of the terrible circumstances around his departure from Justice League though was a lot of the character development Synder and writer Chris Terrio had in the original script. Warner Brothers wanted a lean two hour film, and the final results left many people dissatisfied.
I’m not even talking about just DC fans looking for their triumphant team-up flick. Actor Ray Fisher, the first live-action Cyborg, recently voiced some displeasure with the final cut of the film at an appearance at Wizard Con, lamenting about his character’s backstory and how it was gutted. In particular, Fisher seems upset we don’t get to explore Cyborg’s immense sense of loss,...

Man of Steel’s Zack Synder is about to embark on an adaptation of Ayn Rand’s The Fountainhead ahead of, what was thought his next project, The Last Photograph.
The 1943 novel follows Howard Roark, an individualistic young architect who designs modernist buildings and refuses to compromise with an architectural establishment unwilling to accept innovation. Roark embodies what Rand believed to be the ideal man, and his struggle reflects Rand’s belief that individualism is superior to collectivism.
The character of Roark was based on the idea of Rand’s vision of an ideal man. The protagonist of The Fountainhead was the first instance where she believed she had achieved this. Roark embodies Rand’s egoistic moral ideals, especially the virtues of independence and integrity. It’s also worth noting that the female lead in the novel was the subject of rape at the hands of Roark.
