General Hospital viewers can expect to see confrontations, a wedding, and much more the week of May 13-17, 2024. The storyline features a range of characters including Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer), Jagger Cates (Antonio Sabato Jr), Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), and others.
Lois catches up with Jagger in a nostalgic nod to when they were both on the show in the 90s. Jason tells Anna that Carly has become the leverage FBI agent John Cates is using to get him to work undercover, a move that is sure to cause some drama. Carly, meanwhile, visits Brennan (Charles Mesure) in Pentonville prison, seeking information on Pike man, but this could lead to more problems on the ABC soap opera.

Despite being released ten years ago, David Fincher’s Gone Girl starring Rosamund Pike and Ben Affleck is still considered one of the finest thrillers ever made with all its shocking plot twists and jaw-dropping details of the reality behind the seemingly happy family’s facade.
Though the film had a very specific source it took its plot from, the former was inspired by a lot of books and events — including real-life horrifying murders.
Based on Gillian Flynn’s novel of the same name, Gone Girl follows a happily married couple of Nick and Amy, portrayed by Affleck and Pike respectively, whose life seems to be just impeccable until one day Amy vanishes leaving some weird traces looking more like parts of one big quest.
Desperate to find the missing wife, Nick searches for the police’s help, but the deeper they get into Nick and Amy’s real life together,...

This Star Trek: Discovery article contains spoilers.
Although Star Trek: Discovery season 5 is focused on a season-long quest for ancient secrets from before the dawn of history, there have also been a few episodes that have been almost standalone in structure. From the time loop in “Face the Strange” to the return of the Iss Enterprise in “Mirrors,” Discovery’s final seasons has episodic stories, woven into the bigger arc. And, out of all of season 5, episode 6, “Whistlespeak,” is probably the most standalone of the bunch.
In order to retrieve the latest clue to the Progenitor tech, the USS Discovery jumps to the planet Halem’no, a pre-warp planet. Here, Burnham and Tilly have to go undercover to not only find the clue, but also, repair some concealed technology. Along the way, Discovery pays homage to The Original Series, the prequel series Enterprise, and beyond. Here are the biggest Star Trek...

The creator of The Wheel of Time is promising some unprecedented television when the adaptation of Robert Jordan’s fantasy series returns to Prime Video soon for a third season.
“The first 15 minutes of Season 3 is one of the most bonkers set pieces I’ve ever seen on television,” said executive producer Rafe Judkins, who together with stars Rosamund Pike and Daniel Henney, costume designer Sharon Gilham and make-up/hair designer Davina Lamont, sat down for a chat Tuesday at the Deadline Studio at Prime Experience. “I was just watching it this week and it is absolutely bananas what our team pulled off … just a bunch of women in their 40s and 50s shredding each other, and it is wonderful to behold.”

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for When Calls the Heart Season 11 Episode 3 “Steps Forward.”] The episode title of the latest When Calls the Heart can apply to Elizabeth (Erin Krakow) and Nathan’s (Kevin McGarry) this season and Rosemary (Pascale Hutton) and Bill’s (Jack Wagner) unofficial investigation into who really (if you ask them) shot Lucas (Chris McNally). Just because Pike has confessed doesn’t mean that the reporter and retired Mountie of Hope Valley buy it. And so Rosemary is basically forcing Bill to work with her, making for a very fun partnership. “It was the team-up I didn’t know I needed,” Hutton tells TV Insider as part of our weekly When Calls the Heart aftershow, Heart Beats. “Bill was the hurdle for her to get over. She had to win him over. She needed that partnership. She had information and resources, but he also did, and they really needed each other to partner up.

Not everyone thrives in your typical industry-networking type environment. This can be particularly true of introverted right-brained creatives: there you’ll be, just awkwardly standing there against the wall in the chain hotel lobby bar during the mixer, your adhesive name tag clinging to the fibrous tendrils of your cardigan as you spend four hours maniacally nursing the same club soda on the rocks. Sometimes, a little structure and formality can sweep out the cobwebs of social anxiety and help clear the way for you to fully express your storytelling ideas and precognition of their eventual triumph.

In the "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" episode "Under the Cloak of War", a Klingon ambassador named Dak'Rah (Robert Wisdom) comes to visit the U.S.S. Enterprise on a diplomatic mission. "Strange New Worlds" takes place immediately after the Klingon War, and several of the ship's crew remember the conflict vividly, expressing prejudice and consternation to see a Klingon on board. Captain Pike (Anson Mount) reminds his officers to keep an open mind, but Dr. M'Benga (Babs Olusanmokun) cannot.
Through flashbacks, audiences learn the horrible wartime conditions that both Dr. M'Benga and Nurse Chapel (Jess Bush) served under, and they were bleak. There weren't enough medical supplies to go around, and Dr. M'Benga had taken to storing injured soldiers inside a transporter pattern buffer, hoping to rematerialize them when more could be done. High on Fire have unveiled the video for “Cometh the Storm,” the title track from their new album arriving next Friday (April 19th).
The six-minute track opens with a subdued intro that’s guided by bassist/guitarist Jeff Matz. Much like the calm before the storm in question, Matz’s phrases slowly lead the arrangement to a bombastic chorus, as Coady Willis’ drumming picks up and the bellows of frontman Matt Pike assume a towering presence.

The confection of Matz and Pike’s thick, bass-y guitar tones are at the crux of these massive drops and dynamic peaks, which culminate in a satiating, late-track sludge breakdown. And it was Matz who broke ground on the composition of the song while noodling on his bass in the practice room.
“‘Cometh the Storm’ was built from a riff I started playing on bass at practice,” said Matz in a press release.

We knew Discovery was different from the start. Pitched as a prequel to The Original Series, the first two seasons of Star Trek: Discovery had a ton of references to the first Trek series, including Michael Burnham as Spock’s adopted sister, which also meant appearances from Sarek and Amanda Grayson, as well as Kirk’s predecessor Captain Pike.
The most audacious connection to The Original Series came with the revelation that Discovery‘s Captain Gabriel Lorca came from the Mirror Universe, that evil alternate dimension first introduced in the Tos season two episode “Mirror, Mirror.” In that 1967 episode, written by Jerome Bixby and directed by Marc Daniels, an ion storm disrupts Kirk’s attempt to beam back to the Enterprise, causing him to materialize abroad on the alternate-universe Iss Enterprise, part of the Terran Empire.

Since 2017, Star Trek: Discovery has been the flagship of the reborn Trek franchise on TV. Call it “NuTrek,” call it the continuing mission, call it “Star Trek Phase 3.” It doesn’t really matter. The fact is, Disco has been the focal point of new Trek canon since it hit nearly seven years ago. Now, with season 5, Discovery will be ending its journey, leaving Strange New Worlds and the forthcoming Starfleet Academy as the two live-action Trek shows for the foreseeable future.
But about that canon. As executive producer Alex Kurtzman recently said in an interview with Den of Geek magazine, any new Trek film created outside of the streaming TV shows will have to “have to honor all the canon we’ve created since Discovery.” To be clear, this doesn’t just mean outright new events and characters, but all the ways that...

After a long wait, the U.S.S. Enterprise has received a response from the planet Eminiar VII. They had hoped to contact the planet and establish diplomatic relations with the inhabitants in the star cluster. But the message they receive in return is simple: stay away.
When Kirk gets that reply, he intends to respects their wishes. But no sooner does he order the Enterprise to change course than a man arrives on the bridge and overrides Kirk. This moment must have shocked the first viewers of “A Taste of Armageddon” from the first season of The Original Series of Star Trek. After all, who could override the Captain on his own ship?
The answer is the United Federation of Planets, for whom the man, Ambassador Robert Fox (Gene Lyons), works. Although “A Taste of Armageddon” aired in 1967, the distinction between Starfleet and the Federation still confuses viewers today.

Rosamund Pike has led an equally star-studded career as her peers, if not more. She has given absolutely mind-blowing performances, worked with other A-listed stars, and created some of the most magical masterpieces ever, like her all-time best 2005 classic novel adaptation, Pride & Prejudice. Yet even in that star-studded career, she has had a few failures as well.
Rosamund Pike in Saltburn
One of these failures includes her first and last movie with Dwayne Johnson, 2005’s video game-based Doom, which Pike is “embarrassed” to have starred in. But it wasn’t because the movie turned out to be a stinker, no. Rather, the reason why Rosamund Pike was this embarrassed about starring in Doom was because she partly blamed herself for its failure.

High on Fire have announced their first album in six years and ninth overall. The LP, titled Cometh the Storm, will arrive on April 19th, and includes the just-released first single “Burning Down.”
Cometh the Storm serves as the highly-anticipated follow-up to 2018’s Electric Messiah. The 11-song album was recorded at GodCity Studio in Salem, Massachusetts, and produced by Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou.
The album is the first High on Fire LP to feature drummer Coady Willis, who joined the band in 2021. The trio is rounded out by founding frontman Matt Pike and longtime bassist Jeff Matz.
“‘Burning Down’ kicks off with a classic Pike riff,” said Matz of the first single. “I think this song harkens back to the early High on Fire sound, but infused with fresh, new elements. It has a killer groove that you can really sink into.”

Once upon a time a time, Netflix’s “May December” looked like it could be a serious awards contender in several major categories. Now, after shutouts at both the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the BAFTAs, it looks like the film’s Oscar chances are waning.
Todd Haynes‘ film follows Natalie Portman as an actress who visits a couple (Charles Melton and Julianne Moore) to do research about them for a film based on their past scandal. Best Supporting Actress has been the trickiest of the four acting categories to predict throughout this awards season and that remains true even now, just days before the Academy Award nominations are announced on Tuesday.
Da’Vine Joy Randolph looks like a lock thanks to her sterling turn in “The Holdovers,” while Emily Blunt (“Oppenheimer”) and Danielle Brooks (“The Color Purple”) seems guaranteed to get their first nominations. The fourth and fifth slot, however, are up for grabs. Currently, we are predicting that veteran duo Jodie Foster (“Nyad”) and Julianne Moore (“May December”) will secure the final two bids but they aren’t sure things.
And a certain British actress by the name of Rosamund Pike could take advantage of that uncertainty. She was previously nominated for Best Actress for “Gone Girl” in 2015, when she coincidentally lost to Moore, who won for “Still Alice.” Pike is hoping for her second Oscar...

Welcome to Oscar Experts Typing, a weekly column in which Gold Derby editors and Experts Joyce Eng and Christopher Rosen discuss the Oscar race — via Slack, of course. This week, with Oscar nominations on Tuesday, we discuss some of the categories still keeping us up at night.
Christopher Rosen: Hello, Joyce! The end of Phase 1 has finally arrived, and before we take one last trip around our predictions, I wanted to pour some out for Best Supporting Actress. No matter what group of five nominees winds up announced on Tuesday, Da’Vine Joy Randolph feels pretty undeniable in terms of her forthcoming Oscar win. It’s what she deserves, but it makes our future conversations about the category feel a little moot. But that’s a problem for Phase 2 us! For now, let’s have some fun with our “final” Oscar predictions. We talked about this together with our voices, but...

Emerald Fennell’s twisted social satire Saltburn casts Rosamund Pike as Elspeth Catton, a wealthy onetime model with Bohemian chic style and a sharp tongue. Since the film’s release, some of Elspeth’s most memorable lines have gone viral in the same way as star Barry Keoghan’s more, ahem, revealing scenes. As it turns out, it’s all had an impact of Pike, a veteran star who has previously generated awards season attention for turns in Gone Girl, A Private War and I Care a Lot, to name a few.
“The way that Saltburn has caught the public’s attention, I felt enticed into leaning into that for how I dress during this little bit of time [during awards season],” Pike told The Hollywood Reporter while walking the red carpet at Saturday’s BAFTA Tea at The Maybourne in Beverly Hills. Paramount’s original TV series have become household names in the past few years, but don’t forget Paramount+ gets the studio’s movies too!
As the calendar flips to 2024, there are a ton of questions facing Paramount Global. What will it do with BET? Will the company itself be acquired by Warner Bros. Discovery or another media outlet? How will it come up with the $2 billion it owes to the NFL with the relatively paltry cash reserves on hand it has?
Setting aside all those sticking points for the moment, Paramount+ is releasing a fantastic lineup of new TV shows and movies in 2024. Hollywood’s writer and actor strikes are over, and now that production on new scripted projects has resumed, The Streamable is thrilled to present this list of the five titles we’re most excited for on Paramount+ in 2024.

“Well, it was mostly based on the family I murdered.”
So said Emerald Fennell during a discussion of the film she wrote and directed, “Saltburn,” that was part of TheWrap Screening Series. She was, of course, joking about what inspired her latest movie, but her deadpan delivery fit right into the tonal razor’s edge that “Saltburn” assuredly walks, straddling horror, melodrama and pitch-black comedy. It’s the story of Oliver Quick (Barry Keoghan), an Oxford student of modest means with a tragic backstory who befriends and becomes infatuated with an aristocratic classmate named Theo Catton, played by Jacob Elordi. When Oliver joins Theo at Saltburn, his family’s dazzlingly posh estate, Oliver’s true motivations become evident.

Since her breakout Oscar-nominated role in David Fincher’s “Gone Girl,” Rosamund Pike has been on the brink of returning to “the club.” She has proven herself to be one of the most consistently compelling actors working today with highly acclaimed lead performances in films such as “A Private War,” “Radioactive,” and “I Care A Lot.” This is along with the versatility of her work in television. Pike stars in the Amazon viewership juggernaut “The Wheel of Time” and, on the other side, won an Emmy for her quiet portrait of one half of a marriage-in-crisis in Stephen Frears’ short-form series, “State of the Union”.
For her film work, Pike currently boasts that Oscar bid for 2014’s “Gone Girl, a Golden Globe nomination for 2018’s “A Private War” and a Globe won on the comedy side for 2020’s “I Care A Lot.” Many believe if the voting for the BAFTA...

When you think about it, "Frasier" is one of the most unlikely success stories in TV history. Running from 1993 to 2004, the show is one of the most beloved sitcoms of all time and has recently returned some 20 years after it went off-air for a revival series currently streaming on Paramount+.
But a lot had to happen in order for this impressive multi-decade run to pan out. After the show on which Frasier Crane first debuted, "Cheers," almost crashed and burned during its first season, it went on to become the most celebrated sitcom of the '80s and still enjoys a legacy as one of the finest TV shows ever. In season 3 of the series, we were introduced to Dr. Crane for the first time. Originally intended to be a character that appeared in a few episodes as a way to further the will-they-won't-they romance storyline between Ted Danson's...

In Oscar-winning writer-director Emerald Fennell’s twisted thriller Saltburn, Rosamund Pike is the deft comedic counterbalance.
Her character, Elspeth Catton, a wealthy former model and mother to Jacob Elordi’s character Felix, breaks up the drama with head-turning quips often delivered while lounging around the family’s estate. One such example: “I was a lesbian for a while, you know, but it was all a bit too wet for me in the end. Men are so lovely and dry.”
Pike’s disarming humor comes amid a storyline that sees Felix inviting his less fortunate Oxford classmate, Oliver Quick (played by Barry Keoghan), to their home for the summer, setting off a cascading series of unfortunate events that befall the family. Pike’s character is a witness to the unraveling, though Elspeth would rather pretend there’s nothing amiss.

As Elspeth Catton, Saltburn’s bohemian but bloodless matriarch, Rosamund Pike strikes an unnervingly accurate note as the crushingly careless mother of Jacob Elordi’s character Felix. When Felix brings home Oliver (Barry Keoghan), his apparently lame duck of a new friend from Oxford University, Elspeth is delighted to add a new tragic case to her collection of playthings. Already among them is Carey Mulligan’s lost soul character, Poor Dear Pamela — an old friend on the run from a messy breakup with a Russian oligarch. Here, Pike pays tribute to the world created by writer-director Emerald Fennell, and its unpredictable outcome.

For such a great show, it's remarkable how many times "Star Trek: The Next Generation" almost didn't get made. Read any behind-the-scenes story from the making of the show and you'll hear about chaos, power struggles, budget restrictions, and moments that almost blew up the entire project. William Shatner's 2014 film "Chaos on the Bridge" candidly documented the best, worst, and wildest stories from the making of the show, setting the record straight on decades-old gossip and giving actors, writers, and producers a chance to explain exactly what the hell was going on at Paramount from 1987 to 1994.
Hilariously, "Chaos on the Bridge" includes an entire section about situations in which legendary actor Patrick Stewart almost got fired. It's impossible to imagine "Star Trek" without its stoic genius Captain Picard, but apparently tensions on set led to at least one instance in which the actor ended up called to task by...

When Rosamund Pike sat down to tea with Emerald Fennell to discuss “Saltburn,” the filmmaker’s follow-up to her Oscar-winning “Promising Young Woman,” she ordered coffee. Fennell asked if she was going to drink it black, to which Pike stated that she was going to add milk. Recalls Pike, “So she said, ‘Oh, thank God. I think people who have their coffee black have no love in their life.’ And I just thought, ‘Okay, first test passed.’”
Pike had already read the script her agent described as “pretty delicious,” a decadent tale of obsession and excess that finds young Oxford student Oliver (Barry Keoghan) ingratiating himself into the family of classmate Felix (Jacob Elordi). Fennell wanted to offer Pike the role of Lady Elspeth Catton, Felix’s wildly out of touch mother who loves to take in charity cases — in addition to Oliver, her friend “Poor Dear” Pamela (Carey Mulligan...

“May December,” the newest acclaimed drama film from Todd Haynes, is now available to stream on Netflix, and one of the film’s stars, Julianne Moore, is already an early favorite to receive a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination for her spellbinding performance. Let’s look back at her five Academy Award races and talk about why Moore finally won her first gold trophy in 2015 for “Still Alice” (2014).
Her first Oscar nomination came in 1998 in the Best Supporting Actress category for “Boogie Nights” (1997). Moore’s only Academy Award nom of the 1990s put her up against Joan Cusack for “In & Out,” Minnie Driver for “Good Will Hunting,” Gloria Stuart for “Titanic” and Kim Basinger for “L.A. Confidential.” Moore didn’t have a chance that first time around because Basinger dominated the category all season, her beloved film often showing up in the Best Picture and Best Director categories,...

Hey, Danielle Brooks: Just because your film “The Color Purple” was snubbed in the top movie race at the Golden Globes on Monday morning, that doesn’t mean you can’t still win the supporting actress trophy. In fact, this exact same scenario has happened five times in the past 16 years, with reigning champ Angela Bassett (“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”) being the most recent example.
While “The Color Purple” was predicted by Gold Derby to receive four total nominations on December 11, it only wound up with two: Brooks in supporting actress and Fantasia Barrino in lead comedy/musical actress. The Warner Bros. crowd-pleaser was snubbed for comedy/musical film and for Taraji P. Henson in supporting actress, among others. See what Gold Derby editors had to say about all of those snubs and surprises.

As Mae West once declared, “When I’m good, I’m very good. But when I’m bad, I’m better.”
That might also be the case when it comes to British actress Rosamund Pike, who just won a Best Actress trophy in the musical or comedy category for the darkly comic “I Care a Lot.” Her win was a bit of a surprise since newcomer Maria Bakalova, who plays Sacha Baron Cohen’s daughter Tutar in the “Borat” sequel, was considered the favorite. But she was no match for Pike’s wicked-smart turn as a stylish hoaxer who legally becomes a guardian for seniors who supposedly can’t take care of themselves and end up seizing their assets for her own gain.

Have you ever watched a TV show and dreamt about the food being made on screen? There’s no better time of year to fantasize about the TV characters that we would love to cook for us than Thanksgiving – the holiday dedicated to stuffing your face with delicious food all day long. Early in Saltburn, a college student defends a critique of his essay’s florid style by saying that any criticisms should be directed at the substance of the piece. It feels like a preemptive strike by writer-director Emerald Fennell, perhaps anticipating the film’s detractors will single out her in-your-face aesthetic and ignore her critique of extreme wealth. If so, her instincts are misguided; Saltburn is a gorgeous, ravishing and sensual bit of filmmaking. But it’s the script that feels empty and muddled.

In the dynamic world of cinema, Rosamund Pike and Matthew Rhys are set to light the screen in the upcoming thriller, ‘Hallow Road.’ Directed by Babak Anvari, known for his work in ‘Under the Shadow’ and ‘I Came By,’ this film promises a gripping narrative. ‘Hallow Road’ unfolds as a nail-biting psychological thriller. It centers around two parents, played by Pike and Rhys, who are thrust into a harrowing situation following a distressing phone call. Savannah, Georgia is an appropriate setting for a conversation with filmmaker Emerald Fennell about her newest film “Saltburn,” which follows an Oxford student who becomes enmeshed with a wealthy classmate’s eccentric family during a summer at their country estate. “It’s fully Gothic, especially at Halloween, so it’s really my favorite kind of place,” said the director to IndieWire during a recent interview. Though, in an interview setting that featured walls that alternated between hard, slate gray panels, and thin, beaming bars of fluorescent lighting, Fennell joked that the whole thing felt a bit like “a ‘John Wick’ interrogation.”
In town to accept the Spotlight Director Award at the Scad Savannah Film Festival, Fennell denied feeling a daunting amount of pressure around what to follow up her Academy Award-winning debut “Promising Young Woman” with. “I usually have a few things going on, but I don’t write them down.

Her latest – wickedly funny – performance in the cutthroat society thriller has Oscar nomination stamped all over it. So why does the actor get so self-conscious?
Rosamund Pike is jolly when she appears on my laptop screen in a cream-coloured blouse, with a cream jacket draped around her shoulders. Vanilla hair only adds to the suggestion of dessert. It is early evening, and the actor is calling from Prague, where she lives with her partner and their two sons. Is the wood-panelled opulence behind her real or virtual? “It’s a real hotel,” she protests, then starts brandishing props to prove her point. “It has water and cookies and tea, and a cup with four straws, which is how I roll.” The part that earned her an unfair reputation for iciness – the turncoat Miranda Frost from Die Another Day, which she got straight after university having never seen a Bond film – suddenly feels like centuries ago.

There are numerous laugh-out-loud moments in Saltburn, Emerald Fennell’s darkly comic and voyeuristic exploration of the British aristocracy being released on Friday by Amazon MGM Studios. Despite the hugely impressive efforts of Rosamund Pike and Richard E. Grant, however, most don’t belong to the lead cast, but to Paul Rhys.
As Duncan, the imperious and terrifying butler, the Welsh actor silently steals scenes from under the toffee noses of both those he dutifully serves at the Saltburn mansion (including Pike, Grant, Jacob Elordi and Alison Oliver) and the lower-class interloper he’s keeping a beady eye on (Barry Keoghan) each time he appears with hilariously po-faced magnificence.

With film festival season comes a multitude of glimpses at the upcoming winter cinema slate, and one of the most exciting is a new trailer for "Saltburn," a psychological thriller from Emerald Fennell, the writer-director of the Oscar-winning "Promising Young Woman." This first look gives us illustrious aristocratic parties, ominous butlers, steamy sex scenes through windows, and a never-been-sexier Jacob Elordi ("Euphoria") doused in glorious sunlight. The film's stacked cast features Barry Keoghan, Alison Oliver, Archie Madekwe, Rosamund Pike, and Richard E. Grant.
The first trailer dropped shortly before the film had its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival, and early reviews demonstrate that this is one to watch. The latest trailer, released on Oct. 19, follows the first look we were given in September. The movie has been described by critics as "diabolical, sexy, dangerous, horny, brave, hilarious, audacious, and insane," with Entertainment Weekly calling it "a provocative, violent portrait of repulsion and desire.

Some horror films have the look of what is thought to be yesteryear. Many employ this for the story, the actors to be a certain style of the time for nostalgia. One of the moments you notice when viewing these is the Directorial choices that often are too modern for the time. The lighting is not for black and white photography that was often done by Europeans fleeing trouble in their countries. Casting your mind back to the days of Dead Of Night (1945), and The Ghost Train (1941) and sprinkling in the crime work of Director Basil Dearden you have the wonderful experience of Sean Hogan’s folk horror short film To Fire You Come at Last (2023)

The streaming service was so confident that the Star Trek: Discovery spinoff would be a hit with fans that they ordered a second season months before the series premiered. Then, in March 2023, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds was renewed for season 3, several months in advance of the June 2023 season 2 premiere.

Emerald Fennell, the filmmaker who won the 2021 Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for her “Promising Young Woman” script, presided before an enthusiastic packed audience Friday night that were attending a screening at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood of her latest, the Amazon MGM Studios release “Saltburn.” During a post-film Q&a with fellow producer Josey McNamara and moderator Clayton Davis of Variety, Fennell noted that her biggest goal for the movie that’s already generating abundant positive buzz was for “everyone to, you know, hate it, love it, be turned on, be freaked out…whatever it makes you feel. I want people to feel something. That’s the reason you make a movie and not a TV show or write a book.”
“Saltburn” centers on the unexpected friendship that develops between Oliver (Oscar nominee Barry Keoghan), a young Oxford student on scholarship, and Felix (“Euphoria” star Jacob Elordi), the hunky,...

Everyone thought that Best Supporting Actress was locked up and secured, with Lily Gladstone from “Killers of the Flower Moon” the overwhelming favorite. Then came the bombshell: Gladstone had been switched from supporting to lead. This threw Oscarologists into a state of hysteria as many claimed it was a foolish move — she was a shoo-in to win Best Supporting Actress, why change? — while others argued that her screen time in Martin Scorsese‘s epic justified the move.
The one thing we can all agree on, however, is that it has blown the Best Supporting Actress race wide open, which could leave room for a surprise nomination or two. Enter Rosamund Pike. Pike stars in Emerald Fennell‘s latest flick, “Saltburn,” which follows Barry Keoghan as Oliver Quick, an Oxford student who becomes obsessed with his rich classmate, Felix Catton (Jacob Elordi). Oliver goes and stays with Felix’s family at their manor house,...
