It’s hard to believe how many hurdles Seal Team has survived throughout its run.
The hit military drama started as a CBS original and was moved to Paramount+ as a streaming original several years ago amid concerns for its future.
After beating the odds for so many years, we’re about to say goodbye for good as Seal Team Season 7 will conclude the David Boreanaz-led drama.
While the seventh season was ordered over a year ago, fans have been anxiously awaiting word on a premiere date.
Thankfully, Boreanaz took to Instagram to share an update on the premiere date and a first look at the script for the series finale.
The actor noted that the “last word is on the table,” before sharing, “August here we come.”

Bravo’s days are numbered … onscreen, at least. Let’s hope the team’s end isn’t a tragic one. (We’re still not over Clay’s death.) Paramount+ has announced that Seal Team will end with the upcoming seventh season, set to air in 2024 on the streaming service. Production will begin on the final season in early December. The military drama follows the professional and personal lives of the most elite unit of Navy SEALs as they train, plan, and execute the most dangerous, high-stakes missions our country can ask of them. David Boreanaz stars as team leader Jason Hayes, alongside Neil Brown Jr. (Ray Perry), Aj Buckley (Sonny Quinn), Toni Trucks (Lisa Davis), and Raffi Barsoumian (Omar). Season 6 ended with Jason speaking publicly about his Tbi while accepting the Navy Cross, then facing command alongside Bravo and other SEALs who listed their own struggles. “For six seasons I...

Seal Team is gearing up for its final missions.
Paramount+ will end the military drama with its seventh season, which is slated to premiere sometime in 2024. Production on the final season is set to begin in early December.
Seal Team began as a CBS series in 2017 and ran for four seasons on the network before moving to Paramount+ for its fifth season in fall 2021 (season five, incidentally, is currently in a second run back on the broadcast network as part of CBS’ strike-altered fall schedule). CBS Studios produces the show, which stars David Boreanaz, Neil Brown Jr., A.J. Buckley, Toni Trucks and Raffi Barsoumian. Seal Team is coming to an end.
The military drama series starring David Boreanaz will conclude on the Paramount+ streaming service with its seventh season, which is set to go into production in early December and will air in 2024.
Originating on CBS, the series moved to Paramount+ with its sixth season. The show was renewed by Paramount+ for Season 7 in January and obviously production was impacted by both the writers and actors strikes.
The stand-alone movie that was announced last year, days after its Season 6 renewal, however, is no longer moving forward.
The pickup came two months after the Season 6 finale, which ended on a cliffhanger. This two month delay, which led fans to launch another social media campaign to ensure the show continues, was in part due to talks about finding ways to produce the series more efficiently for streaming, rather than as a broadcast drama, where the series originated.

During the 2020-21 season, Seal Team drew low ratings on CBS and was set to be cancelled. Instead, the execs renewed Seal Team as a Paramount+ exclusive. The hope was that enough viewers would watch on the streaming service to make the renewal worthwhile. Unfortunately for broadcast fans, only four episodes were aired on CBS as a "special presentation" in 2021, and now, due to the industry strikes, the network is airing the entire season. Could CBS rerun season six of Seal Team? Stay tuned.

It's good knowing that our favorite show is returning, but there were some concerns that the streaming service held off longer than usual for an official announcement.

The cast of ‘Yellowstone’
CBS’s 2023 fall primetime lineup will look vastly different from previous years. Due to the Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strikes, production has been shut down on scripted series and films. Given the lack of new episodes of its normal nighttime shows, CBS is diving into programs that have aired on Paramount+. Plus, the network’s leaning heavily on unscripted series and game shows.
Yellowstone starring Kevin Costner, Wes Bentley, Kelly Reilly, and Luke Grimes will make its debut on broadcast television this fall. Season one will air on Sundays on CBS, five years after premiering in June 2018 on Paramount Network.
Paramount+’s Seal Team season five will run on CBS on Thursdays, and FBI True makes the move from Paramount+ to CBS on Tuesdays this fall. And the original U.K. Ghosts, which inspired the American version, will take up a spot on CBS’s lineup on Thursdays.

Paramount+ has renewed Seal Team, headlined by David Boreanaz, for a seventh season. The pickup comes two months after the popular military drama’s Season 6 finale, which ended with a cliffhanger. The delay, compared to the Season 6 renewal which came a week after the Season 5 finale, prompted fans to launch a #RenewSEALTeam social media campaign, which sent the show’s title trending multiple times over the last few weeks.
