One of the best things Prime Video’s Fallout has going for it in the eyes of Og fans is its immaculate attention to detail. The showrunners carefully implemented countless tiny bits of lore in their scenes and added many nods to the original games; while irrelevant for new viewers, their dedication paid off handsomely with the gaming community’s praises. Even Todd Howard was impressed by the show’s faithfulness!
Fallout Boss Didn’t Anticipate Such Level of Detail
Even the most faithful adaptations tend to stick to what’s visible on the screen. It only makes sense, after all: why bother with something no one in the audience will never get a chance to appreciate? But that wasn’t the approach the Fallout team chose. They went all-in, crafting the bits and pieces that were literally never shown to us.

In a recent interview with FandomWire, Nate Purkeypile, a former employee of Bethesda, talked about how his experience with Fallout and the studio helped him make his new game a whole different title. Purkeypile said that when he worked on games like Starfield, there was freedom, like a top-down kind of development.
The goal was to create a timeless game that players could revisit whenever they desired. The Axis Unseen will be the next project of this developer, and the game will be available at some point this year.

Coming from one of the genius minds behind games like Fallout 3, The Axis Unseen looks like a blend of everything that the creator has experienced in his career. Considering how Nate Purkeypile spent 14 years at Bethesda, it’s natural for his solo effort to include inspirations from the titles that he worked on as the developer’s employee.
Skyrim is one of Bethesda’s most iconic titles, which is something that Purkeypile’s also been a part of, but the Just Purkey founder makes it clear that his horror game has plenty of fresh elements to differentiate it from his previous works.

Purkeypile’s The Axis Unseen is an upcoming indie horror with a unique premise
In our interview with Nate Purkeypile, we spoke to him about the combat system of his new heavy-metal monster-hunting horror game, and how it would come into play.
He began with an example, stating that some attacks would work on some creatures, while they didn’t for others.

Upon launch, Starfield was the gaming equivalent of ‘pineapple on pizza’— Everyone hated it. But over time, it amassed a new fan following, as well as winning over its initial player base. While there are still some polarizing opinions on this game, it can’t be denied that Bethesda is keeping up with the trend, i.e., launching a broken game and then working on it over the next few months… Still, they’ve managed to salvage their reputation after the messy splatter Fallout 76 left.
Starfield holds on with lukewarm reviews
And of course, Todd Howard is at the center of it all. Drawing flak for everything that went wrong with this game, Bethesda’s boss had some explaining to do. Stating that it was a bold new IP (their brand new one in about 25 years) with Bethesda trying out ambitious feats, Howard appeared on the Kinda Funny Gamescast to clear the air.

There is no denying that Robert Downey Jr. is an effortlessly cool person. And he perfectly portrayed the enigmatic Sherlock Holmes on screen a few years back. But even the smoothest operator can have some questionable ideas sometimes. Therefore, while preparing for the iconic role, Downey Jr. considered a look more specifically decided to grow a creepy-looking mustache to give the character a significant look.

With modern resources, console games are constantly improving in terms of graphics and performance. Consoles like PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S allow gamers to run certain games at 120 frames per second, depending on the freedom game developers give players. Unfortunately, there is one studio that is still sticking to the outdated 30 frames per second limit for their upcoming video game: Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II.
A still from Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II
Along with Windows, the game is coming to Xbox Series X/S on 21 May 2024 but the developers, Ninja Theory, have revealed that this 30fps lock was necessary for a “cinematic” feel. Ninja Theory is repeating the same mistake that Bethesda made while rolling out their 2023 game, Starfield. Fortunately, they have realized this mistake as Starfield is finally getting a 60fps mode on Xbox Series X.

Helldivers 2 launched earlier this year to loads of critical and commercial acclaim owing to its simple yet exceedingly fun gameplay loop, fair monetization strategy, constant support and community interaction from developer Arrowhead, and a community that embodied the tenets of teamwork.
It’s not a stretch to say that the game racked up a huge amount of goodwill in the 3 months since it launched, and was projected to remain successful for a long time. However, every bit of that goodwill Arrowhead built up is at risk of collapsing because of a controversial change to the game.

Starfield is a dream come true for Bethesda Game Studios. The developer has crafted several iconic franchises like Fallout and The Elder Scrolls but this new ambitious space title was a passion project for the team. However, the game lacked one key feature for an open-world game.
It is bizarre to believe that Bethesda Game Studios didn’t include a proper interactive map system in the latest title and instead allowed the players to wander aimlessly to let them figure it out for themselves. Fortunately, an upcoming update later this month will remedy the problem and then some.

Ubisoft has had its ups and downs with the Far Cry franchise over the years, with a few games outperforming the others, and some that players even avoid talking about. One particular title that has received mixed feelings from players over the years is Far Cry 2, a game that Clint Hocking might have had a different vision for before it was finally released.
Clint Hocking had a different vision for the game before it came out
For those who do not know, Hocking was also responsible for the development of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell series, which primarily focused on stealth-based missions and just might have been where the director got his experience with the said play style.
What Did Clint Hocking Envision For Ubisoft’s Far Cry 2
Unlike Splinter Cell, the level design in Far Cry 2 does not support pure silent takedowns as the enemies ultimately have better awareness.

The Helldivers 2 community is one that, for the most part, has got each other’s back. Even when teaming up with strangers during missions or coming across a fellow Helldiver‘s post on the internet, people are really eager to lend a hand and help each other out.
And the community largely owes its thanks to Johan Pilestedt, the CEO of Arrowhead Studios. If you’re wondering why, it’ll all make sense when you read one of his latest interactions on X/Twitter.

Bethesda’s Fallout has been in the spotlight all over again ever since the release of the franchise’s live-action adaptation, with the release of a 5th canon release in its video game series remaining imminent at this point. However, Todd Howard, the renowned director of the series has refused to take a suggestion that fans have been trying to deliver the studio ever since it all began.
The Fallout series has put the franchise in the spotlight again
It has been recommended by the players that the next game, i.e. Fallout 5 should take place somewhere else rather than America as while it is a great experience for the first 4 games, it is about time the studio introduces new premises for the next release.

Fallout was a successful live-action adaptation of a popular video game with the combined efforts of Bethesda Game Studios and Amazon Prime Video. It shattered records and even made short work of popular series like The Boys and Invincible but couldn’t top The Lord of the Rings.
The show was able to pull an impressive 65 million viewers in the first 16 days since the day Prime Video released all of the episodes. Compared to an equally well-budgeted show based on the popular work of author J.R.R Tolkien, it was considerably better and more well-received.
The Fallout Series Is Way Better Than the Lord of the Rings Spinoff The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power had a strong start but failed to capture the fans, unlike Fallout.
Despite having a strong start, the video game adaptation was the second most-watched title on the platform and fell behind The Rings of Power.

If you’ve played the Fallout games, it’s likely you’re aware of how American it can feel. Not only with its setting and cultural aspects but also the philosophies honed by its narrative. As it turns out, Todd Howard pretty much aligns his views with this, keeping aside the feelings of Fallout: London developers.
In an interview, Todd made it very clear that the games are supposed to stick to a cultural approach that is familiar to most of its fans. Now that the TV show is out, this is even more evident. Sorry Fallout: London fans, this one’s gonna sting.
Todd Howard Would Like to Keep Fallout American, and That’s It Todd is pretty clear about the Fallout history (and future).

Breaking the long-standing curse of disappointing video game adaptations, Fallout and The Last of Us have now attained a gold-standard status amongst gamers being delivered faithful small-screen versions of games they pour hours into. This comes after years of inaccurate and shoddy live-actions that have left a stain on the industry, and for viewers and gamers alike.
A still from Fallout
While we’re still waiting for Resident Evil to give us our favorite Backstreet Boy-looking Leon Kennedy in a perfectly adapted series, and debating whether a triangular…chest is indeed peak Lara Croft, there are some games that deserve another go— Not as a game since they continually bombed, but as a TV show, since their stories can be done a lot more justice.
And while Ubisoft has broken our hearts with a terrible Assassin’s Creed adaptation, there is one more game that is now thought to be long dead.

Fallout has become one of Prime Video’s biggest series ever — according to Prime Video.
The well-reviewed show, based on the video game franchise of the same name, has become the second-most-watched title ever on the Amazon streaming service over its first 16 days of release, the company says. Prime Video says 65 million viewers worldwide have watched at least some of Fallout since its April 10 premiere, putting the show behind only The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power in the streamer’s catalog.
Global audiences have powered a majority of that viewing: More than 60 percent of Fallout’s audience is outside the United States. The (limited) data from Amazon jibes with that from outside sources like Samba TV, Luminate and Reelgood, all of which have tracked a strong start for the series (Nielsen’s streaming data lags by several weeks).

Video-game adaptations are going next level. Amazon says “Fallout” is off to the second-best start for any series on Prime Video ever.
More than 65 million people watched “Fallout” in its first 16 days on the streaming service, per a Prime Video rep. Amazon says that’s second only to the 16-day debut window for “Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” back in 2022. Amazon also says “Fallout” is the number 1 title globally on Prime Video in that span, it’s hit number 1 in 170 countries, and more than 60 percent of its audience has come internationally. People in the UK, France, and Brazil especially love it.
The streamer claimed back in 2022 that the debut episode of “Rings of Power” was watched by 25 million people in just 24 hours and by 100 million people overall, but never reported specific figures for a 16-day window. But how many kept watching? A report said only 37 percent of...

“Fallout” is proving to be far from a (nuclear) bomb for Amazon’s Prime Video.
According to the streamer, the series pulled in 65 million viewers in its first 16 days of availability, with the first season dropping in its entirety on April 10. That makes it the second most-watched title ever on the platform and the most-watched title since the debut on “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” back in 2022.
Amazon also says the show is its most-watched ever among adults 18-34, with 60% of the show’s audience coming from outside the United States. In particular, the UK, France, and Brazil have all proven to be hubs for the show’s popularity. It should be noted, however, that Amazon has not released any data on how viewers are counted, especially when it comes to completion of the show. Therefore, it is unknown if a viewer is counted once they have completed a single episode,...

Prime Video’s latest and hottest TV show Fallout is famously set in the popular video game universe of the same name. Thanks to staying faithful to the source material and carefully adding countless references to the games, the new series earned the love of Og and new fans alike. Much of it can be attributed to the long and passionate planning that Jonathan Nolan and Todd Howard’s team did together.
Fallout the TV Show Isn’t an Adaptation
Unlike most live-action movies and TV shows set in animated or video game worlds, Prime Video’s Fallout is no adaptation: it’s a completely standalone story with original characters which exists in the same universe as the Fallout games. During the process of its creation, the series was treated as such, and it led to a great result.

The audience loves Prime Video’s Fallout. It’s engaging and easy to understand for those previously unfamiliar with the setting, but it’s also faithful and carefully crafted enough for Og fans to enjoy without feeling unimmersed. But even despite all its pros, there’s one category of people who seem to have a grudge with the new show.
Some Fallout: New Vegas fans are pretty frustrated with the way Prime Video approached its lore; they claim that the new series overrules the game’s events.
Fallout: New Vegas Is an Iconic Game
The first two Fallout games were isometric and frustratingly old-school for the younger audience. When new developers came around with their fresh approach, the setting became much more popular with the general public; but while the new generation of Fallout is typically associated with Bethesda Softworks, it’s not true.

The Fallout TV series has been out for less than two weeks, and already it is garnering considerable attention from casual viewers and hardcore fans alike. The positive reception of the show is undeniable, and Amazon Prime has already taken its victory lap with the recent announcement that a second season has been greenlit.
Although much can be said for the creative talents of Jonathan Nolan and Todd Howard who worked their magic behind the camera, they cannot take all the credit. Several exceptional actors brought new characters of the franchise to the next level, and it was Moisés Arias who truly stole the show for many. His portrayal of Norm MacLean and the journey taken to discover the secret behind Vault 31 was essential in setting the tone and building tension.

Amazon Prime Video’s Fallout has been met with rave reviews. With hardcore gamers and newcomers alike itching for a second season soon, a lot is left unanswered by the end of Season 1. And what was in the serum that the Chicken…ahem… “Lover” gave him?

Perks are one of the many elements of what makes up Bethesda’s popular video game title, Fallout 4. Despite being released nearly a decade ago, this game is still where a lot of gamers tend to head to as it was the last title that acted as a sequel to the storyline. After many years of development, Starfield really had the possibility of being one of the greatest Xbox games. Todd Howard really promoted this game as the ultimate space exploration title, but the end result was nowhere near what it really was.
According to an X post, a former employee of Bethesda, The Axis Unseen creator, talked about how he wanted to make the planet more full of life and not so procedural. Some players are even comparing it to Fallout, saying that this game has a more developed world.

Last year, Bethesda finally released the great space exploration game, Starfield, to reviews ranging from average to great. However, a significant number of fans expressed dissatisfaction with the outcome, particularly due to some poorly implemented features.

One of the major video games that Bethesda has released recently is the space-exploring Aaa title Starfield. And this wealth of good gaming content on the big screen means a few knock-on effects in the actual gaming space.
Xbox and Microsoft Won’t be Blind to Fallout’s Recent Successes
