Due to its physical aspects, injuries are an unfortunate part of The Challenge, and it appears that at least one Season 40 competitor suffered a brutal one.
The season has been filming in Vietnam for the past few months, with spoilers arriving online about the cast, including elimination results and remaining competitors.
Season 40 features 40 competitors, spanning the 39 years of MTV’s competition series, including OGs and more recent competitors.
Just recently, the cast got trimmed down to 11 people, all vying to win the final for either their first time or another one to add to their list of career achievements.
As of this writing, the number of people in the final, who is in it, and who won is unknown. However, at least one competitor may have experienced a rough exit from the season.
This report will contain spoilers from The Challenge Season 40, set to air later this year on MTV.

Teck Holmes during The Challenge: All Stars 2 season. Pic credit: Paramount+
With The Challenge: All Stars spinoff show, Og cast members came back to the competition years after their original MTV shows. Some of them even decided to return for the second season of the spinoff.
Among them was the entertaining Teck Holmes, who originally appeared on The Real World: Hawaii and competed in The Challenge 2000 season.
He was eliminated early in The Challenge: All Stars Season 1. Teck returned for Season 2 and reached the final thanks to being part of a powerful alliance. However, he and his teammate had an early exit due to finishing in last place during a leg of the final.
Surprisingly, Teck didn’t return for Season 3, even though the rest of his alliance members did. At least one of them reached the final and had a chance at winning their share of the prize money.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not watched the Season 3 finale of “The Challenge: All Stars,” streaming now on Paramount+.
Another season of Paramount Plus’ “The Challenge: All Stars” is in the books — and two people are 250,000 richer.
The season finale, which dropped on Wednesday morning, picked up where the penultimate episode left off — with Mark Long, Brad Fiorenza, Nehemiah Clark, Wes Bergmann, Nia Moore, KellyAnne Judd, Jonna Mannion and Kailah Casillas kayaking across the ocean to a checkpoint.
Once arriving there, they each had to play one round of “King of the Hill,” the first game T.J. Lavin had ever hosted, back on “The Gauntlet 2” in 2005; this time, each player had to push their opponent off a platform in the middle of the ocean.
After the matches ended, they had to switch partners again, and each pair was given 100 pounds of sandbags to take up a mountain.

Are you ready to meet back up with some of the biggest names in The Challenge history?
The Challenge: All Stars is set to premiere Thursday, April 1 on Paramount+, and we have your first look at the cold open of the series premiere.
It shows off some of the big returns, including Trishelle Cannatella, Mark Long, Katie Cooley, and Darrell Taylor.

What's immediately clear from this clip is that the new series will be a throwback to the glory days of the original, meaning that it should appeal to fans of the older iteration, as well as newer fans who have caught the original in recent years.
Here is the full list of cast members.

For the last two-odd months, I've been most excited about Sunday night television because "Game of Thrones" is the fucking bee's knees. I suspect many of you were similarly excited for Sundays. But now that GoT is gone for too long, what night are we to be excited for? What night will step up and fill the void? Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Wednesday nights, for MTV's "The Challenge" is back and I simply cannot deny my excitement for the return of my guiltiest of guilty pleasures.
In a piece of legitimately good news, T.J. Lavin is returning as the host (for his eleventh go at it). But last October, he had a heinous injury...
