Patrons of Justin Timberlake-owned Southern Hospitality in New York City got quite the surprise on Wednesday night when the singer/actor showed up to sing a few songs.
Timberlake announced on Twitter earlier that day that he would be performing with Free Sol (a band signed to his Tennman records), in a free concert. Naturally, other celebrities flocked to his eatery to join in on the festivities. Emma Stone, Kim Kardashian, Kris Humphries, and Amanda Seyfried were among those spotted dining at Southern Hospitality for the free show.

He’s back! Well, sorta. Everyone has been on Justin Timberlake’s case to cool it with the movies and get back to being the greatest song and dance man since Michael Jackson (braces self for the flood of comments). And now it looks like Jt is heeding our pleas, at least a little bit. Last month he premiered a music video he directed for the hip-hop group Free Sol, and last night he did a surprise show for lucky diners at New York’s Southern Hospitality restaurant. The gig was extremely last minute, with Justin tweeting only a few hours before that anyone in the New York area should head to the uptown eatery he co-ownsand see him perform with Free Sol. The place was reportedly packed with people, and even a few famous faces, including Kim Kardashian, husband Kris Humphries and Emma Roberts. Is he testing the waters...

Justin Timberlake has been really loving the whole thespian thing lately. And hey, if it gets you tight with Mila Kunis, who are we to judge him. But his fans have been worried that the Friends With Benefits star has abandoned his first love, singing. But fear not folks, because Jt has finally returned to music! Kind of. The renaissance man has recently directed a music video for the Memphis hip-hop group Free Sol, which he shared yesterday through his twitter.
The track’s called “Hoodies On, Hats Low,” and the vid features an appearance from a hooded Justin, who rocks out on the air drums and chimes in on the chorus. The song ain’t have bad…we just wish it would feature more singing from the man who brought sexy back! Has it really been five years already? Come home, Justin! Don’t leave us with Lmfao!

After Christina Aguilera postponed a planned summer tour in support of her disappointing Bionic album, fans were probably wondering when they might see her onstage again. The singer, who recently announced her divorce from husband Jordan Bratman, finally got back in the live game on Saturday night, when she took part in Justin Timberlake and Friends, Jt's benefit for the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
The show, held at Planet Hollywood's Theatre for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas, was booked months ago, before the personal turmoil in Aguilera's private life. But courtesy of a pointedly personal set list, it gave the singer a chance to remind the audience about her formidable performance chops.

Fire Starter: Free Sol
We usually like to put our Fire Starter out a little later in the week, but this is a special edition. We have Justin Timberlake giving a major co-sign to a new mixtape. You've seen Jt present artists from his burgeoning Tennman Records, such as Esmee Denters and Matt Morris. Next up under the Grammy winner's wing are FreeSol, a group from his hometown of Memphis that fuses rock, hip-hop and a little R&B.
"They're rock stars," Justin said of the group at February's William Rast fashion show in New York, where they also performed. "It's nice to work them organically and not feel like, 'Hey, you gotta listen to this band!

He knows that his Tennman Records artists have the talent and personality to do great things in the industry.
Timberlake thinks Denters has a magical combination of personality traits and talent. "She's just so consistently talented. She sings like a little bird," he told MTV News. "She's really just fantastic and she's got great stage presence. She commands the stage, but also there's something about her, like you want to have coffee with her...

• After unveiling his new William Rast collection, Justin Timberlake spent the night partying and kissing his girlfriend Jessica Biel at New York's Hudson Terrace. The singer-designer grabbed a spot atop a booth with Biel and mom Lynn Harless, and the couple danced as Harless looked on, sipping champagne and laughed. But Timberlake was also a gracious host, greeting guests in the VIP section with hugs and kisses. Later in the night, he even performed with the band Free Sol - which is signed to his label - while revelers like Kellan Lutz and Ryan Philippe took in the scene.

At his latest William Rast fashion show, Justin Timberlake admitted there is a "blatant correlation" between music and fashion — however, for the time being, Timberlake is more focused on the clothes and less worried about putting out new music.
He hasn't put out a solo album since 2006's FutureSex/LoveSounds, but he said he isn't going to force the tunes out. "You know, music is ... music exploration, I find that when it comes up ... it comes up like a freight train," he said. "So when it does, I definitely won't run from it."
However, the bottom line is that Timberlake has no plans to release his own new music anytime soon. In addition to his fashion empire,...

Memphis based band Free Sol got their lucky break when fellow Tennessee native Justin Timberlake heard their music and decided to sign them to his Tennman Records label. Frontman Free Sol admits that being in the studio working on the group's forthcoming debut album with the pop superstar has taught him quite a lot.
"Yes [we were in the studio with Justin] several times. It's like school," Free Sol told MTV News about working with Timberlake in the studio. "He's a genius. A lot of people think that dude from *Nsync, but really he's like ... He's a baby Quincy [Jones], you know what I mean? So we learn a lot."
Free Sol revealed that in a few weeks, the band and Justin have a very daunting process that lies ahead of them before they release an album (which they hope to have out by the summer). "In March, we're going in with Justin. We did about 108 songs," he explained.
