If you ever want to, you can take any history book, cross out the title and scribble “Why The British Are Dicks” on it and it would suffer no loss in its accuracy. Most history after 1600 can be attributed to explaining the meaning of that sentence; Britain and France were the biggest colonial powers in the last couple centuries, and when they started to realize that they couldn’t actually tell others what to do, they mashed a few cookie cutters on a globe and created a whole bunch of countries that quickly fell into ethnic civil war because their borders were based on the location of natural resources and not tribal boundaries. Ergo, the common governments that were set up by imperialism became mechanisms for conflict as different ethnic groups fought to control it for their own interests.

NCIS</i>" style="margin:0 5px 5px" />There are just two episodes to go in this season of CBS' NCIS, and playing a sizable role in them is Michael Rivkin, the Mossad agent who last week surfaced in bed alongside Ziva. This Tuesday, Tony finally gets some quality face time with Rivkin, and it's unlikely either gent will be smiling. Merik Tadros, who plays Rivkin, shared a look at what's to come. TVGuide.com: So, the elusive Michael Rivkin is now among us....
Merik Tadros: [Laughs] Yes, apparently so.
TVGuide.com: Did they tell you, back during [the Season 6 premiere] "Last Man Standing," that they had plans for you to return, but that you'd have to sit tight?
Tadros: The way they set it up, I figured I would make some sort of comeback at one point, but I never knew when it was going to be. I had no idea.

Spring is a season of renewal, particularly in the movie business, where the completion of the awards derby allows Amy Adams to segue from playing a solemn nun in "Doubt" to a klutzy crime scene cleaner in "Sunshine Cleaning." Along with "Sunshine," there are plenty of festival favorites about to get their day in the sun, whether that's in theaters, on DVD or on demand online or on TV. This preview recognizes the many ways to get your indie film fix, as well as the special events you might want to head out to if you live in New York or Los Angeles, including "The Brothers Bloom" director Rian Johnson's week-long con man movie "Festival of Fakery" at L.A.'s famed New Beverly Cinema, about which we recently spoke to the director. But regardless of whether we're watching films from the past or present, we're looking forward to the next couple months.

See the trailer for "Crossing Over," produced by C.O. Films, The Kennedy/Marshall Company, Road Rebel as well as distributors The Weinstein Company. No confirmed release date on this one as yet. South African born Wayne Kramer helms and writes the film. Kramer is a highly talented director and writer of films such as "Crossing Over," "The Cooler" and "Running Scared." We loved all of those except for the "Mindhunters" effort which was lacklustre for the most part. In any case, the multi-talented cast alone makes this worthy of a visit. Check out the trailer here! Immigrants from around the world enter Los Angeles every day, with hopeful visions of a better life, but little notion of what that life may cost. Their desperate scenarios test the humanity of immigration enforcement officers. In Crossing Over, writer-director Wayne Kramer explores the allure of the American dream, and the reality that...
