On November 16, 2019, the BBC got a “scoop” that just might have saved Britain’s premier network for news. That is the night it aired its seemingly impossible “get” of Hrh Prince Andrew actually sitting down with the BBC’s signature news show, Newsnight, to talk about the raging scandal over his relationship with the notorious Jeffrey Epstein, as well as his alleged sexual encounters with Virginia Roberts. However, the facts of the matter, such as they were, are not at all what the new Netflix film Scoop is all about.
Instead, much like She Said, The Post, Spotlight and All the President’s Men, the emphasis here is on the reporters, four key woman journalists who incredibly negotiated a sit-down interview with Andrew when such a thing would be unthinkable. They pulled it all off just at a time when facts themselves were on trial and the future of legitimate newsgathering...

Update, 12:38 Pm Pt: Megyn Kelly posted her interview with Ashley Bianco, who was fired by CBS News this week after she was suspected of accessing an ABC News video of a hot mic moment of Amy Robach.
In the interview, Bianco denies that she leaked the clip of Robach.
“I did not,” she told Kelly. “No, ever.”
Bianco had recently moved to CBS, but the network fired her after ABC informed them that she had accessed the Robach clip.
Bianco said that she made a clip of the moment, but it was saved in the internal system.
“I essentially clipped it off. It never left the system. We do it all the time,” she said.
She said that “everyone in the office was freaked out by what [Robach] was saying and everyone was watching it.” She said that Robach had been taping promos and the feed was being broadcast to all of the affiliates.

ABC News is defending its reporting on convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein after right-wing site Project Veritas posted a video in which Amy Robach is caught in a hot mic moment complaining that the network did not go with an interview she landed with one of his accusers.
In the video, Robach says, “I had this interview with Virginia Roberts. We would not put it on the air. First of all, I was told, ‘Who’s Jeffrey Epstein? No one knows who that is. This is a stupid story. Then the palace found out that we had her whole allegations about Prince Andrew and threatened us a million different ways. We were so afraid we wouldn’t be able to interview Kate and Will that we, that also quashed the story.”
Robach said that Roberts “told me everything. She had pictures. She had everything.”

ABC News sought to tamp down reaction Tuesday to a video of anchor Amy Robach visibly frustrated about not being able to get reporting aired about disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.
In the video, distributed by Project Veritas, an activist organization that seeks to reveal mainstream media hypocrisy by recording behind-the-scenes moments, Robach is seen on set, disappointed that an interview she had conducted with Virginia Giuffre, who accused both Epstein and England’s Prince Andrew of sexual misconduct, had not gotten on the air.
