Director-composer Sandro Forte has been working in the Canadian film
industry since the mid 90s, starting as a film journalist and movie
theater programmer. In 1996 he founded Wetfish, a musical outfit adding soundtracks to classic films from the silent
era. While his early scores for the National Film Board (NFB) were
signed under the name of the Wetfish band, he now uses his birth name.
Later music works were often produced in a partnership with fellow composer Simon Bellefleur.
As a director
he made several short documentaries and other various works for NFB and its affiliates
companies. He also directed several short films and spectacles.

Directed two feature films to be musically accompanied live: 'Once upon a time... Spag - A musical anthology of the Spaghetti Western' (2004) and 'Because they speak French in Quebec' (2002) a documentary-comedy.
(2006 - 2011) produced and edited social work videos made by Natives, Homeless people and street gangs.
